I think we all had that car or that guy that inspired us to be involved with hot rods as a kid. Watching this made me think, that's exactly how I built cars in the beginning and I really enjoyed them much more than I do now.I now have a car with nice paint and its a worry and a pain. I also have a driver, that I can lean on and leave anywhere and not worry about it, if it's scratched, no worries just get out the touch up spray can and go on.I believe we all got into this hobby for our personal enjoyment, when it stops being fun, it's time to change your direction!
Amen brother!!!! I had a couple influences growing up, but this guy, this car and his time and patience with a young man helping him was the most major one!
New subscriber here from MOFO DRIVER. Great video on an awesome car with a truly incredible history. Looking forward to watching your adventures, brother.
Awesome That You Have Such A History With The Car!!! It's In A Way Your First Car!!! Love The Tiger Door Panel Insert!!! Probably Has Smaller Primary Jets And Has Better Fuel Distribution Down Both Sets Of Runners!!! Looking Cool As Always!!! Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
lol I put the inserts in the doors because I really wanted to keep that 70s vibe. I hav e wondered why I got better mileage with the tunnel ram. That all makes sense…. Thank you.
I love it! I had a similar '29 A Tudor highboy. We a;; see a lot of wazzu big dollar cars and they are amazing but this kind of car is the everyman ride. This is the backbone of hot rodding. I'd walk past a hundred big dollar cars to look at this one.
Found your video by accident! Great to find someone else with a 30 chevy sedan! Mine is hotrod black. 472 cadillac with 2x4s. I almost scrapped it once I got it tore apart. But made myself finish it! Your chevy looks great!
Hi Joe, I've commented to you before about your car. I had to watch your video again and need to tell you how COOL your car is. That's all. I love it. Have a good day and take care. Bob in Idaho.
Hey Bob . Hope your doing well. I appreciate your comments and the fact you like my ride. I took a little side step from RUclips for a bit. Hoping to post some more fairly quick. Probably a bit more of the Nova , and I recently purchased a 50 wliiys overland. Along with a few up grades on the ol girl ( still my personal favorite). Hopefully you will find some of that interesting also. Catch ya later man
Joe, I did see your newest video, I believe, about all the things you didn't get done. Haha. Pretty good! Saw the newest addition and will watch when you get a new video up. I spent all summer and fall on my 39 Ford Panel. Almost ready to start wiring. Need to finish right front fender, I think it was used as a curb finder. Sheet metal work and welding are new to me, so I'm slow, but having fun. Take care, later!
Hi Joe, stumbled upon your video and love the back story of your car. The cars are to be driven, and if you fix them too pretty you won't want to drive them. Besides a car is never done! For the negative people that talk about your car, ask them if their name is on the title. You do what makes YOU happy. I'm in southern Idaho building a 39 Ford Panel and believe me people have opinions of what and how I should do it. My goal is to get the Panel to the condition of your Chevy and drive the heck out of it. Good luck and take care.
Sir, your hotrod is perfect in every way, and full of great and loving history, hope you keep it as it is and one day pass it on to a guy just like you ❤️
@@joeroyalgarage7995 I notice you also have a Chevrolet Nova. I have a factory RHD 4 door Nova that was sold here in 1962 to test the waters. Only 12 were sold as GM decided to stick with Holdens for their mid range cars. Full size Chevs and Pontiacs were sold in small numbers throughout the 1950s and 60s all of them having Chevrolet motors.
@@amraceway yes sir. I have a 65. It’s was in pretty rough shape when I bought it. Just now got it solid enough to start putting a little hot rod together, Your car sounds awesome man. Do you have a sight we’re I could see some pictures. I’d like to check it out.
Thanks man. I have watched your channel , and been subscribed for a while. Although I just realized you tube hasn’t sent me notifications in a bit. So I am looking forward to doing some catching up

I love her just the way she is … especially if you drive her and enjoy doing so … there is nothing wrong with taking vehicles to the next level but I’ve found that after that is done the owners are more worried about any dents or scratches to enjoy them as much …
I love all the little personal bits on and in the car. I'd personally drive it as is. Maybe tweak a few things you've been meaning to fix or change, little improvements here and there but nothing that will keep it off the road for a day or two. You have plenty to do already, just enjoy this one. I've wavered between thinking your car should be painted and leaving it alone. I'd just hate to see it get too pretty that you're afraid to drive the heck out of it
Thank you Bruce. I doubt I do much more than freshen it up. Maybe put a little better engineered front suspension. But other than probably not much more.
During the chop did you remove the wood and change it to steal ? I have a 1929 Chevy sedan I want to chop. What’s your front axle? Love the build. I’m building mine in memory of my daughter.
I can’t take credit for the chop. But all of the wood except for the roof bows has been replaced with steel. The front cross member is out of a 1965 corvair. I am using a 1971 pinto rack. I upgraded the brakes with a disk kit from Clark’s corvair. It uses a disk from a 80s s 10 4x4, and standard g.m. Metric calipers. I would love to see your build and hear the story. Many of the parts in mine are dedicated to, and or from, loved ones.
