  • I ENCOURAGE ALL IDEAS/SUGGESTIONS/CRITICISM for improvements, mistakes made, and ways to maximize the slide use. THANKS.
In this video I attempted and rather successfully completed this bedside build using ideas from another RUclips video creator, some of my own ingenuity, my close family, and with the amazing help of my lady and son.
Vehicle: 2009 Ford F150 Supercrew Cab 5.5ft bed
I cut the slide at 63inches and the base at 61inches to leave space for my hand to never hit the base when grabbing the slide. I have over 200lbs in tools on the slide currently and it's holding up great and slides out rather easy. Also, I recently decided to use ratchet straps to hold the slide out while the eye bolt on the slide is hooked in and the other hook is grabbing at the opening where the tailgate latches onto normally. You guys might find a better solution to this.
Wood: (2) CDX 3/4inch 4x8inch treated plywood (Home Depot)
    Rails: (1) 1 5/8inch Unistrut 10ft (Lowes)
Trolleys: (3 pairs) 1 5/8inch Unistrut Trolleys (Amazon)
Latches: (1 pair) Heavy Duty Gate Latch (Amazon)
Project Total: About $300 with all the nuts, washers, bolts, wood screws.
