Years ago, Warner Bros Studio Tour in Burbank had a whole Harry Potter exhibit, including a Sorting Hat. It put me in Slitherin, but the tour guide gave me another chance and I got Gryffindor the second time. But at Universal in Florida I decided I really belong in Ravenclaw, so that's what my robes say.
Excellent reaction. I love watching people discover HP. Its like falling in love with it all over again. As far as your house there are several quizzes online. I would recommend doing a couple different ones as results can vary. I cant wait to see you do the whole series.
A little behind the scenes of the movies. Each movie covers one year of school. It took 10 years to film all 8 movies, so the kids were still close to their characters' age. By the last three films or so, it will become apparent these kids did not waste spending half their lives working with and learning from some of Britain's greatest actors. Like the books, the films get darker and more mature and intense as the actors age. You are in for a ride.
I've never seen the US version before and they actually do say "Sorcerer's Stone" instead of the original "Philosopher's Stone". That means they had to film those scenes twice.
If you ever get the chance, Universal in Orlando has an amazing Harry Potter area. Actually there are two: one with Diagon Alley (complete with the wand selection experience) and a second with Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. Each is in a different park area, and there's a Hogwarts Express you can ride between the two.
I just found your channel in the recommended section and I am so glad. It is so special to see someone reacting to this and other movies. Please, please, please react to all Harry Potter movies, I will be looking forward to it.

A little bit of information concerning Ron's confidence while playing chess. Because the movies won't tell you about it. While Harry and Hermione's skills are made quite obvious during the whole series, Ron's are little more subtle. But one of his most obvious skill, is being outstanding at playing chess. That chess game he faces in this movie, and the first book, was set up by Professor McGonagall. Therefore, Ron is playing McGonagall and wins. If you liked it this much, you should definitely read the books. There's so much more magicalness in them, and the same vibe! Plus you said you like mystery, and all of the books (more so than the movies) are structured as mysteries.
I love looking back at all the moments where you're made to be suspicious of Snape. You can see Quirrell nearby in the background. Like the Sorting Hat ceremony when Harry's scar hurts. He and the viewer look at Quirrell, but right next to him is Quirrell facing away (so Voldemort is looking at him under the turban).

It was so fun watching you, it's hard not to love this movie it is so iconic. Here are some ideas for fantasy movies and just to let you know I'm from the era when a classic was truly called a classic. The Thief of Bagdad 1940, Jason and the Argonauts 1963, Ladyhawk 1985, Fire and Ice animated fantasy 1983. I think these next ones have a bit of adventure/fantasy in them, Gunga Din 1939, Mighty Joe Young 1949 and Lost Horizon 1973, unfortunately the original one, 1937, was almost lost in a fire and stills had to be substituted for scenes in the movie which is a pity, but the new one is not bad. There you go:)
Alan Rickman(Snape) has played villains in "Die Hard," "Robin Hood, Prince Of Thieves," and "Quigley Down Under." He was an Angel in "Dogma," and an actor in "Galaxy Quest."
Glad you enjoyed! But the books are even better :P I guess it's pretty common people only watching the films now, but I just can't imagine anyone not liking the books if they're into the movies and read anything at all.

I'm enough of a film fan to recognize Rowling's brilliance in taking so much loved from other works and combining it in a fresh way with so many other's it becomes it's own thing in spite of the sources. Harry starts like Cinderella in his abuse at home for example. I could go on but the films do that better than I. :D
@@terrylandess6072 The movie is also pretty honest about what it is. You want Harry to win and succeed. It's just kids with low stakes (in this movie), and while you can see the line of "It was her love" coming a mile away, it just feels like it fits so well and doesn't come off as cheesy.
You are literally going through every thought that I had reading the books as an 11 year old 😆 Rowling really does make you want to live in her wizarding world.
Great reaction! Every time I watch Harry Potter, Hogwarts reminds me a little of the library at the Catholic seminary I attended in 1979. The library was round and three stories high. I was invited there by two other seminarians. Up on the third floor behind rows of books was a table, there we all sat down and they asked me If I ever heard of Dungeons and Dragons. For many months after that we spent countless hours playing D&D and Gamma World (another RPG by TSR). Good memories! By-the-way, after a year I left the seminary. I realized my path in life was leading me elswhere.
I love watching your videos when it's you and when it's both you and your bf/husband (not sure your status with him sorry). You both bring different yet awesome energy and insight when watching movies. I'm here for it all.
Several years ago, I got an E reader that I could read Braille Books with. I'm blind, I guess that's probably obvious. Anyways, my daughter-in-law is a Potter head. When I discovered that they had the Books in Braille, I told her I would try them. I said to myself, I'll read a couple of chapters and then tell her I just couldn't get into them. I downloaded the book opened it started reading and the next thing I knew I was at least halfway through the book, and it was 2:30 in the morning. Now I'm a Potter head. After I finished the books in Braille, I read them on Audible. Then I watched the movies with audio description, again and again and again… I blame it on her, but well OK it is her fault! Lol!
A darn shame what happened to that poor stuttering professor. And we have only Harry Potter's word, the cold blooded evil murderer himself, to tell us what "happened". He saw his hands burned Quirrel and didn't hesitate to put both hands on his face. Wizard Children of the Corn up in here.
Iguanas can be spectacular and interesting. I didn't have one as a pet, but I've had giant asian water monitors, gila monsters, and a Mexican beaded lizard, along with pythons, boas, anacondas, gaboon vipers, rhinoceros vipers, jumping vipers, an Indian cobra, alligators, caimans, among many other reptiles. I used to give educational talks with reptiles.
I know that your title says Philosophers Stone , but also noted that in your movie version Hagrid called it the sorcerers stone. Im under the understanding that in America its known as the sorcerers stone and in Britain as the Philosophers stone. Why the difference I have no idea.
They thought no one in America had heard of the Philosopher's stone legend at the time. source: I was ten at the time the first book came out, and i knew of the legend.

That‘s right! The films did a fantastic job to make even the worst characters likeable. The acting is incredible.
You might think it's dangerous at Hogwarts, you don't really need to worry. Pupils almost never get killed. 🤣
They sometimes just vanish for a few weeks but they will turn up again!
She still did that hot eyebrow flash at the intro even if it was subtle ❤️❤️❤️
I used to give educational talks with reptiles.
there are online tests you can take to get
"sorted". I am a proud Gryffindor myself .
Super fun! Good choice for the extended edition. 💯
looks like I have to sub to Patreon again to check out all of these!
Thank🐍 for the H.P. reaction, Chandra.
You can do the sorting hat online, I was sorted out for Ravenclaw.
What's famous around the world about Harry porter is that Magic, spells, and war between good and evil
on the DVD of this movie they had some little minigames and one was clicking on the right bricks to open up Diagon Alley
is this an extended version? I do not recall some of the conversation/scenes in the theatrical release.
(googled it) well, there is huh.
I'm so glad you decided to watch these movies on your own and not with someone whose already seen them ❤
fun fact in the book dumbledores one desire in the mirror was a couple of cozy wool socks lol
29:30 you do know that the Slytherin (my house) common room is IN the dungeons
Just found you and I really enjoyed your reaction!! Can’t WAIT to watch you fall in love (and be completely blown away by) these films! Also, I have a suggestion for a hood tv series that I personally LOVE that has a “magical” feel😉 it’s called “Discovery of Witches” if you haven’t already seen it. I love it!!! Even if you don’t do a reaction to it, you should check it out for sure.
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Great reaction! One advice - the world is rich, detailed and the storyline is a lot more complex that it seams at the beginning and you should pay close attention - there are information right from movie 1 throughout the whole series and some of them do not pay off until the end. You love this journey!
Well done Chandra, you did a great job 👏👏👏
This was a great! Can’t wait for the next movie!
Those Ten Points at the end, were the only house points that Neville won in the entire year.
