I have been a fan of Dravid since ages and he had many great moments, the one I love the most is the England tour. Where everyone including Laxman, Sachin, Sehwag could not perform even to a decent level but Dravid scored century in 3/4 matches.
There are many great moments but this one is a sign of true warrior.
But what came next was even greater.
Next summer they went to Australia and Dravid could not perform well and he retired.
I remember I was in college and no one could agree it was a right decision, but its Dravid we are talking about. He later said, I could not perform and dont have many years left in me. its about time I give chances to more people to step forward and play with senior people on the team cause soon most of them will retire.
Only a selfless person can do that.
I still have all the news papers (Hindi, English and Gujarati) published after Dravid's retirement announcement.

As a cricketer Rahul Dravid is technically very strong. Most interesting stats: He played the maximum balls in the history of the test cricket. Sound and determined. Most of our 90's cricket heroesfrom Indian had same god gifted talents. Sachin Tendulkar is the best. He himself invented or better to say remodified few shots like upper cut, paddle sweep etc. VVS Laxman typical Hyderabad zone classic barsman and wristy player, Sourav Ganguly is extremely strong in offside. But if you look carefully you will not find anything specific within Rahul Dravid rather you will find a perfect example how to follow basic rules of batting. His batting itself is now a coaching book manual.
Really the aggression handling strategy everyone should learn. The way you guys identified and presented Angry Dravid is simply worth appreciating. 🔥
