Very interesting point about the '77 Atlanta Falcons defense - I'll bet no one knew about those statistics, at least not off-the-cuff. As a fan of the Steelers, I definitely agree with your top billing of their '70's defense.
Great list! The 70’s was a great era of football. I’m from Philly and a lifelong Eagles fan. Unfortunately, the only notoriety we got in the early 70’s was that we were on other teams highlight films as they scored against us or sacked our quarterbacks. Dick Vermeil came and turned us around. That might be a good idea for a video, greatest turnarounds?
It was really fun getting to hear about the 70’s defense! Amazing story about the Falcons! Too bad they didn’t have a decent offense to go with it. And what a run by the Steel Curtain! Holy cow!🏈
Congratulations on 300 subs! The only real surprise was the Falcons. I really had no idea they were that good that year. Very interesting to find out. As always, good job & keep up the good work!
Purple people eaters, what an interesting name! Also, learned about the perfect season & Falcons having an amazing defense. Thanks for the education, Steve! Mail received, too, I’ll be doing a video soon and shouting you out. Always appreciate your generosity.
The 1977 season was the last of the "dead ball era" and had the lowest points scored per team since 1942. So while the Falcons defense was pretty good that season, their stats aligned with league trends.

yeah, maybe. Or greatest coaches. I think that Vermeil would rank well.

@@markcarpenter4469 thank you. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. I keep waiting for cowboys fans or raiders fans to complain about not being in the top 5.

@@darrellludlow also the last season before they changed some rules that made it much easier to move the football forward.
K.C. Chiefs
@@garrickragon1232 I’ve been waiting for a cowboys or raiders fan to object, the Chiefs were good also.
Yeah I kind of think you could have made it a top 10 cuz them Raiders were awesome. Hate the cowboys but great as well
