It’s impossible to use chaos control without a chaos emerald… but when Shadow teleports without an emerald that is an ability known as “chaos snap” which is a short range warp that lets him teleport short distances. It won’t let him travel across long terrain like chaos control can, but it is a good way to quickly move from enemy to enemy in a fight or to quickly snap to cover.

From what I can remember about him, Eclipse was an absolutely fascinating character. In that particular moment he had used up a significant chunk of his energy so he couldn’t use Chaos Control at that moment without one. To say he can’t use Chaos Control AT ALL without an Emerald is misinfo, there are simply certain instances where his energy alone isn’t enough to accomplish what he needs out of Chaos Control.
He uses Chaos Control without an Emerald in the last canon stage of his game (& that’s what it’s referred to in game). See the thing that not many people talk about is that Shadow does indeed need a running start...and yadada yada yada,etc...Shadow has the shoes to make himself FASTER,but he doesnt actually need them.
Technically he can use chaos control because he naturally produces and store chaos energy via organs like the bio lizard and in sonic battle he can use chaos control without chaos emeralds

It is infact not chaos control but he can still teleport, this comes from his black doom blood, creatures that have their chaos powers *amplified* from chaos emeralds. The teleport is Choas Snap

I knew that Shadow can’t use Chaos Control without a Chaos Emerald. A lot of people commented that he can, but you proved them wrong.
P.S. I believe that is his teleportation; it doesn’t slow time, but it simply teleports him from place to place. Chaos Control simply lets him warp space and time, allowing him to appear faster

I feel like shadow is at Sonic's speed level with his inhibitor rings off, but most of the time he's a bit slower.
IDW aside, wasn’t there a game where he said he didn’t need an Emerald because he “had Maria in his heart”, like he was using his own bioenergy. You even said Shadow has a lot of Chaos force in him.

I’m gonna be that guy: the panel you pulled while stating Shadow can’t use Chaos Control without an Emerald was lacking context. In that particular moment he had used up a significant chunk of his energy so he couldn’t use Chaos Control at that moment without one. To say he can’t use Chaos Control AT ALL without an Emerald is misinfo, there are simply certain instances where his energy alone isn’t enough to accomplish what he needs out of Chaos Control.

He uses Chaos Control without an Emerald in the last canon stage of his game (& that’s what it’s referred to in game). Plus if Black Doom can do it without an Emerald AND without even sayin’ the phrase, Shadow most likely can do the same perfectly fine without his Inhibitor Rings on. Usin’ an Emerald most likely jus serves to make the technique easier to pull off with less strain
Shadow is actually the same speed as sonic even without the shoes, he's ran like sonic to frame him before and they were the same speed.
Love the sonic 06 gameplay grew up on that game
