I love the fact they tired to put him to sleep and hulk just sneezed 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Sam Elliot's portrayal of Thunderbolt Ross was the most comic accurate character in the movie.
right, i hoenstly dont think Ford can deliver as good as a performance in that role
Definitely made Ross seem more redeemable than in the MCU.
was there a reason why Sam Elliot couldn't reprise his role?
@@rodscarbrough2337the 2008 movie with Norton is not actually connected to this. They retconned the origin story shown in this movie. They just decided to keep the thing with him being in the jungle because the movie was originally going to be a sequel and they just didn’t want to scrap that part of the script.
The attempt to make the movie feel like comic strips coming to life was a cool touch. It definitely pulls from the weight of the scenes but it is a cool aspect of the movie.
Yeah. I liked it but it’s a movie not a comic book and it’s distracting in my opinion
@greenkostia I do agree. I think it's a neat artistic approach, one I'm glad to have seen done once. But there is a reason the rest of the MCU doesn't look like this.
its like a first draft for me. i see what they want but its a ways off from being good.
@@ArcturusAlpha Spider-Verse was the culmination of what Ang Lee started here.
Also the action screen reminds me of Austin Powers.
The animators got such a great sense of weight and mass in there considering the tech they worked with
This so much. Also, physics. Hulk's muscles jiggle a lot as he moves, which makes a lot of sense given how much he moves. The Avengers Hulk did not jiggle -- he seemed very static by comparison like a video game character.
@@Billy-bc8pk Ironically there's a lot more tissue and muscle simulations done for the newer Hulk, but alas they were not used as well as in this older movie.
I don't understand how a movie from 2003 has better graphics than today's movies
I don’t get why so many people act like this movie has awful cgi. I mean it was 2003
When I was younger, I didn't understand the character of Hulk and his power. Now as a fully grown-up, this must be the Marvel character that fascinates me the most!
He is one with a deeper and complex psychology.
until Disney ruined it like everything else.
Funny thing is even as strong as he is at some point Thanos takes the Hulk hostage and hulk asks him at one point to kill him.
Understand? It is just a character from comics and movies for children.😂
Same here, also as a kid I played the PS2 game
This is the Hulk we needed. He's way better and stronger
The CGI is crude, however he Emotes surprisingly well, especially his body movements.
And greener
@@Flux_Nomad When you compare the CGI to todays sure. But you have to remember they was using old school windows xp/2000 with AOL dial up back in 2003 which just our smart phones today are more powerful lol.
@@HKGrimeUK It is what it is and they did a decent job with the tech at the time. The weird muscle rippling effect shows they were striving for detail.
@@Flux_Nomad Even many of today's CGI don't have the muscle jiggle that they managed back then, which is highly impressive and cognizant of the animators for the time.
2:02 this montage is pure gold😂😂😂😂
Other than the aesthetics they really showed Hulk off better than any movie since, his raw power, the child like mentality combined with animalistic raw force, all wrapped up with his power growing as he becomes more enraged, I really hope we see more of this, its the right balance of progress, the character is already shown as strong, but as the threats grow, he adapts to overcome them.
This was a great base for what a hulk movie series could become.
Wait, you didnt like Bruce in She-hulk?
It had its flaws, but this was the only version that tried to show he increases in size as well as strength as he gets angrier. It was a little overdone - he was something like 15 ft tall at the end - but they still get kudos for including that bit of comic lore.
Edward Norton's Hulk worked the same way.. it just wasn't as dramatic and obvious(like this one puffing up his face like a cartoon...)
1:36
This isn't comic lore, it's a thing exclusive to this film. In the comics this doesn't happen.
I don’t believe it’s true that he increases in size with his rage, but I do know that he still gets stronger as he gets angrier.
@@manuv8 It does, actually
@@manuv8he gets bigger and stronger the more mad he gets is the actual lore
The angrier he gets the bigger and stronger he gets. A great aspect that the other movies never utilized
you gotta love how his boxers grow with him😂😂😂😂😂
their alive!!!😂😂😂😂😂
2:02 So long, "big boy"
There are so many little great touches in this movie. The mass and weight and impact feel very realistic and meaty - When he slams through the circular elevator at 2:19 for example. When he gets to running at full speed at the end he has a little trip, the impact of the bullets bouncing off his skin, how he uses his strength to super jump... It just sells it so well and has that coolness factor that's hard to specify. The movie has its flaws, but its got a lot of cool moments like this. Hulk is such untapped potential for awesome moments and fights. This movie did him a little justice.
His eye started to grow when he got angry 😂
Wtf was up with that lol
Easily one of the greatest and best scene in all of comic book movie history.
согласен! халк из мстителей просто плюшевый огурчик... а этот настоящий мужской зелёный ОГУРЕЦ🥒
I feel like that sneeze should have sent everything in the room in front of him flying
If modern games had muscle deformation tech like this movie, it would take character realism to a whole other level, the deformation in this movie is still one of the best ever done imo, they got the anatomy, power and SKIN with pores stretching so right, and how the skin reacts to muscles underneath it, still top shelf imo!!!!...
I think though, the lighting and actual rendering of said amazing tech is what makes it look dated, still, I applaud Ang for trying some crazy hard stuff way back then!!!....
Yes, yes, yes! EA played around with it for a bit with the EA Sports UFC games -- with proper muscle deformation and jiggle, but they always stopped it from being too realistic. We have the tech now to simulate it effortlessly but due to DEI/ESG standards we will never get realism of muscle deformation and jiggle-physics as presented in this movie, which is 20 years old!
There's a muscle flexing system in Street Fighter 6, and Overwatch 2 recently implemented it for the character Mauga (only character so far to have it in the game that I know of).
Josh Lucas plays THE BEST toady, rich guy, and snob - in everything.
what do you expect from a guy with 2 rich uncles who gave him everything?
@@vladtepes97 Legit? So many nepo babies.
the way he runs is so cool
This hulk version was and still is the best!
This hulks powers, in Edward nortons hulk design/model is my ideal hulk for the mcu
This version of Hulk was by far the biggest
These guys did there homework when they portrayed the hulk. They know he can jump 3 miles in one leap.
The cinematography in this movie will never be eclipsed
Glenn Talbot didn't bother to think that Betty Ross will hate him forever if he dares kill Bruce Banner in his form as the Hulk, just to get a piece of him for his own gain.
She's really impressive, using commands to turn off all light but the main hall, but without using a monitor.
I believe this Hulk is the best representation of what the Comic book Hulk is like as he grows stronger as his anger grows. This is what made the hulk the "Strongest There Is" his unlimited rage. The Hulk in the Marvel Avengers movies made the Hulk a weakling in comparison. Even Bruce states he put a gun in his mouth and the other guy (HULK) spit the bullet out, but Thanos hits him easily taking him out. That was not the comic book Hulk like this video shows.
3:42 when info about Harambe being alive and locked up in area 51 gets leaked
Is this only me 🤔
But I think Hulk in this movie is far bigger than Hulk in every Avengers movies 🤔🤔🤔
Not just you. This hulk also grows in size as he gets angry and there are other scenes in the film showing this. In fact some of hulk's abilities are more visible in this version.
Yeah. He grows a lot. In the scene where he goes back to Bruce, he shrinks to about 1/3 his size quickly.
@@JR72_It was one of Hulks abilities to represent him growing in strength
Yep, he got bigger and stronger in this film. I also think they did a better job of scaling his power to his size in this movie. In the Avengers series the Hulk's power scaling made no sense. He was able to one-punch KO a giant flying worm but unable to knockout Thanos. It just made no sense.
Someone told Ang Lee that Hulk was big and green and he said "I shall make him very big and extremely green!"
This is the best Hulk everrr
My favorite too best hands down
By far.
@@Wuwei32 I wish THIS Hulk had appeared in the MCU.
you are correct, doesn’t change how awful it was 😂
This movie is the closest that actually depends how hulk power works because hulk would get bigger and stronger as his rage grows
2:00 🤣🤣
🤣
A funny and awful way to go..
2:01 bye-bye
I have never understanded why this movie is soo underrated. Is there someone who thinks this movie is great?
The gas just makes him sneeze lol
This Hulk version was favourite during my childhood days especially Hulk vs Tanks was my favourite part wanted to watch this movie in theatres but never saw it
One of the best scenes of the hulk franchise
This is what I loved about this movie growing up. Bro never really hurt anyone besides Talbot, I mean dude deserved it. But Hulk just wanted to be left alone
one of the best superhero movie
That foam could be really useful
Wow even impact divets from the bullets
When this movie first came out I didn’t appreciate it. Now, this is the only Hulk I want to see in the MCU. Disney’s Hulk is boring.
Not boring very weak😂
I think this movie would have done much better today with all the simultaneous camera angles and creative editing.
A lot of people didn’t like this movie because they didn’t know that this is the only movie where they showed the Hulk’s true powers
The level of ambition that the artists had was amazing but the tech was not quite there to make it look real
2:03 that pose😭
I know I know you wish that was a pose you could do😭😭
This Hulk is way better rendered than all movies he appeared in ...
This Hulk is much more like the comic book Hulk.
Really wish these channels would stop blocking closed captions. Deaf people watch movies too.
the hulk we all wanted
2:42 that guy is having the time of his life.
"FINALLY i can shoot this thing in fully auto"
2:42 Chris Jericho ?
😂😂😂
Yeah bro thats him😂
Hulk the goat

This is hulk not that avengers one... He is the incredible badass roaring angry bigboy🔥🔥
One of the few movies Sam Elliot doesn't die!
Amazing how marvel changed the hulk to what he is now
Que increible 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Si incredible senior
Here's some advice: Never mention Bruce Banner while he's in Hulk mode
This Hulk is much better than the current MCU one.
I like that it takes more then gamma radiation to make the hulk, using altered genetics and nano-medical technology and gamma radiation is the key ingredient.
This Hulk would literally destroy every MCU hero.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Hulk
2:03. Director and editors said "Yes. This looks good. Keep it in". xD I mean, if they were going for a comedy, that it's great. Because this is still one of the dumbest yet hilarious moments I've ever seen in film.
по-моему, это стилизация под комиксы
CGI is goofy but at least this Hulk has the correct strength, speed, and leap as he gets angrier
2:00 it was at this moment that he knew...he f*cked up.
WOW That “Gleen Talbot” From The Marvel Movie “Hulk (2003)” Is A Dangerous Idiot For Trying To Kill Hulk With A “Bazooka” Just Because He Was Trying To Get A Sample Of The Hulk’s Skin And Make A Fortune >:-(
He Probably Deserves It >:-(
That was a grenade launcher tho...
But yeah he was pretty stupid.
Hulk; it's what's for dinner.
idk why, but i think the animation looks so real... than today's hulk....
Talbot got around pretty good for being so busted up, didn’t he. 😁
The comic animations were Brillant, like the way the screen turns like a page, but they failed hard to captivate the live screen viewer.
This type of hulk should fight against thanos or show us in world war hulk. Even though it's back in 2003 they have done very good work. Just once think about she hulk then you would get the picture here 😂
2:00 you think that going to stop me?
Thumbnail is a guy trying to get him to take his Covid shot.
Hahaha best one so far time for your boooossster
He may not physically look the best, but this is a more comic-accurate hulk than the MCU hulk.
I don’t care what the idiots at RT scored this it was a cool movie shot in an awesome way.
Yeah, Ang Lee is an artist.
Loved this movie as a kid. Had it on vhs
This movie showed the power of Hulk the best.
I'll always prefer the Norton version.
The hulk 2003 the best
This hulk is the goat 🐐 THE GOAT!!!🐐
A lot of people hated this Hulk, but I really enjoyed it as a kid. BUT tbh, the presentation of the movie itself was kind of garbage, like a soap opera vibes.
It was an ok movie. I'll watch it again if I'm bored. What I enjoyed tho, was they way they portrayed Hulk. The angrier he got, they made him get bigger and stronger. Not the movie, but Hulk himself was better than the MCU hulks
I'd have loved to see a whole cinematic universe using the comic book panels as actual shots like this movie did.
Also, mad props to Ang Lee and the crew for _nailing_ the Hulk's speed in his running scene.
2:02 🎼 I believe I can fly
This hulk movie has such a weird artistic style.
would've been really great if not for all the annoying transitions and split screens
If they'd combined *this* Hulk's powers (i.e. getting bigger the angrier he got, the long range jumping, etc) and Norton's Hulk's intelligence, it would have been *perfect.* I don't care for Ruffalo's version of Hulk at all.
Interesting proportions, but didn't move like he was 4000lbs. Ragnarok Hulk was the right Hulk.
Honestly that’s how I would feel if I went into an mri machine I would just want to break out
Nothing was going to stop this hulk
2:18 Michael Papajohn cameo
Eric Bana Vs Josh Lucas
3:23 she had that mean arch
3:08 INCOMING!!
How did Hulk know? It made me curious, I was trying to use context clues besides the security cam.
I forgot how bad this movie was. Thanks for reminding me 😂😂😂
It still better then whatever she hulk was.
My uncle and I watched it on DVD, and about a quarter of the way through, he asked me if it got good, lol. Sometime later, he told me in front of family members he thought it was the worst movie of 2003. 😅
@@YoRocky89when the worst is suddenly nostalgic because by today's standards it's phenomenal, I had a bad 90s flick I watched that I did turn off because it was that bad, but by today's standards it's good and that is sad.
You want a story you have to go east now. Otherwise it's horrendous elsewhere.
1:10 aaagh not my hulkynut
😢
That foam is non lethal?
No it's very lethal as you can see the Hulk dies immediately on contact with the foam
Only flaw in this is that the absorbing guy was the bruce's father which doesn't make sense
HULK SMASH!

It's crazy to see so many people praise this movie with how hard it was panned when it came out.

I still think this Hulk would have destroyed Thanos 1v1
