Don't know if your familiar with the dyatlov pass and the khamar daban hiker tragedies but they are very similar both from Russia the dyatlov pass was no survivors but the khamar daban incident one girl survived and she won't talk of it again she's still alive and when found and saved by kayakers and put in hospital she told what happened how they all but her went insane from possibly a soup they made from mushrooms and other plants they got. From the mountains she didn't eat the soup and tells of her friends biting and chewing the shrubs and dirt banging their heads on the ground on hands and knees and pulling up small trees and things. Very very similar to your story ......check them out . Isn't Russia along the same geographic lines and similar to Alaskan climate and animals and plants? Could be the answers to the stories.

Thanks for providing a common sense, non-paranormal, non-cryptid possible explanation for some of these sightings. If anyone cares about the actual science of proving Bigfoot is real, you have to apply these "litmus tests" of reality to every single story and encounter tale. Without this process it makes a mockery of research and people that actually do care about whether this thing is real or not and do not secretly consider it a joke. A large number of people who claim they "believe in Bigfoot" don't do this at all and then get angry if you offer a common sense explanation. Some of those are the worst.

    • @idahobigfootyoutubechannel
      @idahobigfootyoutubechannel  2 месяца назад +1

@@NathanTarantlawriter Thank you very much, I try so hard to do a good job. And I couldn't agree more, it's a serious problem and I'm hoping a more scientific viewpoint - and manner of discussing this topic - will take hold over the next few years. The paranormal viewpoints can be understandable on a surface level, but they don't hold up and only make people want to toss the topic of Bigfoot aside and not take it seriously.
Sometimes, I almost wonder if there is a conspiracy to cover-up the existence of Bigfoot, but it's done by those who love paradolia and make all sorts of "woo-woo" claims in an effort to make science leave the topic alone. It's hard not to wonder some days lol!
I think there's a lot of very genuine and sincere people who promote those theories, but I also think there are quite a few people who, at the very least, think it's a joke and like manipulating people. I hope I'm wrong about that last one.
Anyway, thank you for the kind words, I appreciate them!

One thing that catches my attention from the story was the behavior of the compass. Perhaps that area has strange magnetic fields, which, if you listen to accounts of the paranormal, can give that eerie type of feeling or like you’re being watched. It could be a combination of things, magnetic fields, mold, etc. Plus, imagine if that’s true and you were a stranded Chinese shipwreck survivor and you’re being affected by these environmental things for who knows how long…could explain their odd behavior, if that’s what it was that the one man saw.

Great video; I had heard about this book before (and the basic outline of the story), but was not familiar with the shipwrecked Chinese goat-herder theory. It makes sense, especially if it were confirmed that the shipwreck happened. This Chinese goat-herders don't necessarily negate sasquaches in the area, especially with the report that mentioned the footprint with the mid-tarsal break (which doubtful would have been a detail turn-of-the-century gold panners would have known about). Thanks for taking the time to make the video!

My dad had this book, and I first read it as a teen.
I'm a lifelong SE Alaska, and the idea that Chinese immigrants would be completely new to an adult American prospector in 1900 Petersburg is implausible, let alone the suggestion that mountain goats could be domesticated and managed as heard by a shepherd.

Great take on the story. I talked to a geologist about the story years ago. His theory was that arsenic in the water may be the culprit. In Southeast Alaska mineral rich areas contain arsenic. After hearing the stories the men could have been primed to the halutions. The exception would be the trapper and his dog. Several people I know in that area have reported to have seen something resembling big foot.

The point of creatures like gorillas retaining thick fur is to protect the skin surface from wounds. Humans wear clothes to compensate for the lack of natural fur. Humans have been wearing animal skins including from goats for thousands of years. So the explanation given would make sense. There have been more recent cases of campers in remote areas suddenly exhibiting bizarre behavior, there was one from Russia for instance, put down the effects of poisons or hallucinogens in the environment. So again I think the explanation offered would make perfect sense.

They said that their compass would point all over. Maybe the environment messed with their reasoning. Even the one that wrote the story, when he went with the Norwegian man, thought that they had only spent the night there but the other guy said that they were there for two weeks. Cool story!
I'm wanting to ask a question, in the hopes that perhaps you or one of your viewers had heard this story. I've been trying to find it without success for years now.
A man tells a story of when he was a boy, going to visit his grandma who lived in a remote cabin. One day out looking for berries he explores beyond his grandma's directives and finds a small grave/cemetery. He is then assumed to have been followed back to his Grandma's house by a bigfoot type creature. His Grandma is aware of this creatures existence. She yells out at the creature about the boy not being whom the creature thinks him to be (his deceased uncle from memory)
Any leads to finding this story would be appreciated. 🤩

The theory of the ship wrecked Chinese doesn't make sense to me. If these prospectors were leaving tents and supplies, hungry humans would have taken advantage of such resources.
MRSA is a relatively new development, not one of the late 1800's. Humans are smart. There was mention of settlers in the area.
Tjose hungry Chinese would have gone to the homesteads for help.
As town was only several days journey, they would have followed the streams to settlements.
They would have stuck closer to shore awaiting another ship and using the shore for seafood and firewood.
    I just don't see it.

Interestingly you mentioned quartz, iron ore and salt water.
One of Teslas concepts for free energy used a system of tunnels in series that would separate salt water. The salt particles in h20 cause electrons to jump through a conductive surface. The water flows through varying series of piping. Which can also happen with ground water that runs through granite. This may result in a direct electrical current.
Massive amounts of iron ore under pressure(earths weight) would result in a large magnetic field
Quarts has a unique property in that it is piezoelectric.
Piezoelectric means electricity resulting from pressure and latent heat. All 3 forms of energy could have created strong radiant fields that may result have resulted in a temporary altered state or psychosis.
    Just a thought.

I listened to the story again, and I picked out another detail. Another word mentioned often in the story was mold. It is now believed that the witches of Salem that had fits in front of the puritan courts actually had ergot poisoning. It could be possible that some type of mold was ingested resulting in ergot poisoning, or other toxin ingestion in that area resulting in a temporary psychosis.
A great mentor once taught me while reading personal accounts or testimonies of people to first focus on words of substance that are mentioned the most, to try to pick out themes before reading the content.

Thank you for watching, and stopping by. I know what you're talking about. I have felt that presence - deep overwhelming malevolence that makes the room feel heavy and causes a primal panic to overwhelm you. I fully believe that demonic beings exist, and I can see where you're coming from with this. It could very well be. Part of the reason why I don't discuss dogmen much is because I don't think they can exist biologically, and given how people claim they felt when they saw one... I think they are demonic in origin.
With that being said, you could be right about a dogman -type entity killing that man. Messing with people before hurting them would align in my eyes. I like to explain everything in a more biological/scientific manner, but I'm open to other possibilities.
Just my two cents! Thanks again, and I hope you have a good rest of your day!

Wow! I read a book years ago. I can't recall title or author, but, I have remembered this from it. "In Canada and Alaska ther are still vast areas of unexplored wilderness, where nameless men by nameless rivers wander, and in strange valleys die strange deaths alone"

    • @idahobigfootyoutubechannel
      @idahobigfootyoutubechannel  Год назад

That's quite the quote! I think I found it: "In Canada and Alaska there are still large expanses of virgin country
Where nameless men by the nameless rivers wander and in strange valleys die
strange deaths alone." That was in “Wilderness” from A Sand County Almanac and Sketches Here and There, Oxford
University Press, 1949, written by Aldo Leopold.
I also found "Ballads of a Cheechako by Robert W. Service To the Man of the High North" which said: "The nameless men who nameless rivers travel, And in strange valleys greet strange deaths alone" written in 1909.

Seems your surmise is right: A terrible incident of foreign men tragically unable to be recognized as human, in a time when few people had experienced other cultures. Probably not psychotropic; they need time to enter the bloodstream. Thanks for your reading.

That's ridiculous. If men had the wherewithal to emigrate then they would be able to find their way to civilization even just by following prospectors. It's also not true that people had not experienced other cultures in 1900.

It's interesting i have spent a lot of time in the woods and have been in places that made my hair stand on end and wonted to get out asap and it was a struggle to get to a place where i felt ok again. there are places where we have no business going too.

I sorry you had to deal with that, that feeling truly is horrible. Glad you are alright though, that's good. I wonder how many Missing 411 people had that feeling but shrugged it off. Bottom line: trust your gut. As you well know, if something feels wrong you need to get out of dodge. Anyway, thanks for sharing and I hope you have a good rest of your week!

Two things. Firstly; this link takes you to a story that, if you enjoyed this, might be up your alley ( ruclips.net/video/d6iXxmCA-zM/видео.html ). It's about Wolverines, written by Russell Annabel. He was praised by Ernest Hemingway as the best outdoor writer. I think you'd like it. I uploaded it to my other channel "Jep's Outdoor Adventures"
And if anyone wants me to read their story, (fyi, it must be real!) please send it to idahobigfootchannel@gmail.com or message me on my Instagram page "idaho_bigfoot": instagram.com/idaho_bigfoot/
I hope everyone enjoys today's video!

Sounded like the place had some pretty strong magnetism, the compass jumping around and such. This can mess with you brain, which could explain some of the craziness and why some were effected more than others.

Portlock Alaska seems to be the creepiest place.
Finding dead hunters bodies ripped apart would spook anyone that hunts in Alaska.
Maybe a grizzly, but one that rips a human apart and dumps their bodies by a river stream seems awfully dangerous and uncharacteristic of a grizzly bear attack.
