JJ's impressive throws are tight window throws. They aren't the falling down fade away throws and that's great. A guy who can play into the teeth of the defense over the middle and throw it between guys is necessary when things get tough. People underrate that
Whats strange is how scouts are looking for crazy completions vs the ability to win game and stay poised under pressure. T. Brady was one of those also and he feel to the 6th round.
The thing that makes that trick play so much cooler than it already was…. Is the fact that that’s Dallas Turner who hit him and they are now teammates 😅
I like the breakdowns, but you need to show the actual video more clearly than from a distance with a glare. Can't see it very well, except when you zoom in, which wasn't often enough. Audio of y'all, video of the actual plays. Just a thought.
JJ can run… he can throw… best thing no one talks about? He can throw ON the run. That’s the NFL today. He’s accurate while scrambling. Eyes down the field. Harbaugh coached him well
I think he might be like Michael Jordan in College. The joke went the only man who could hold Jordan under 20 points was Dean Smith. Michigan was designed to beat Ohio State not win the QB the Heisman. McCarthy might be a better pro than college player.
The thing is, JJ is very flashy. If you watched him in real time you’d know. I be been noticing a lot of guys like jay gruden making assumptions on JJ based off stats and what other people say as a game manager. When they really haven’t seen much tape. He’s very far from that and in fact he’d be known for it if he went to a school like usc, osu, Alabama or Oregon. Michigan doesn’t build their offense to be set up that way.
I hear this he isn't flashy stuff and being a Michigan fan who has watched every single snap of his career I think those people are crazy! Yeah maybe he didn't have to do it every play but that's because he had an Oline! I mean holy crap what do these people want a guy who has to run for his life every play getting miles put on his body? JJ has made some unreal plays . Throws and runs. The dude is a stud and will be flashy when a play needs him to be flashy and he should be smart with the football. He had very little turnovers but on very little occasions he did something that made me scratch my head. Against TCU. Bowling Green and Bama first play. I hope he doesn't try that in the NFL. If he doesn't than he will be just fine
Not exactly effusive praise of McCarthy, but not much criticism either. I'm getting "game manager" vibes from Gruden which has been a knock on JJ because he doesn't make a lot of mistakes but the highlight reel is bereft of "splash plays". The question is whether KOC and McCown can bring out a more dynamic version of McCarthy while retaining his good decision making DNA. Other than Caleb, I think JJ has the lowest bust potential of any QB in this past draft, but is his potential enough to propel the Vikings into playing meaningful games in January.
My concern with him is his frame. He is very thin. If he gets a bit bigger he can be really good. You look around the league you don’t find many skinny thin quarterbacks taking over and being successful. Lamar Jackson is the exception but we all knows he’s a true Anamoly
If you’ve ever stood next to Aaron Rodgers, you wouldn’t be concerned about JJ size. Aaron Rodgers is slim., narrow shoulders, not a big frame at all. I’ve stood next to many times (I help organize charity events in Green Bay), and he’s no bigger than JJ even now.
Throws a really flat ball and is inaccurate. I expect the Vikings to be looking for another QB in three years. Not a JJ hater but I don’t see the high end talent.

Plus elite arm strength and great decision making. Im glad that teams over exaggerated his flaws so that he could fall to my Vikings.
Excellent post.
@@5luelight726there really are no flaws other than the old bs he was in a run first offense which is not a flaw.

JJ #1 QBR on 3rd down +7 yards = Clutch. And #3 total QBR.
All I need to see
He also had like 30 passing attempts in the 4th Quarter all last year. Kids a bust.
@@ZackeryeetEyore

@@ZackeryeetHe barely played in the 4th quarter of most games because he team was up so much 🤔🤯

A quarterback who won’t lose you games is better than half the quarterbacks in the league right now
If Jay Gruden knew how to evaluate and develop QBs he’d still be in the league.
Lollol no that’s not the reason
@@anthonyholder7629 ur thinking of Jon Gruden

People have not watched jjs highlight reel 😂

I think people want to compare him to Joe burrow which isn’t fair.

JJ is NO game manager .
“I don’t really care if he can catch the ball one-handed, I need to see if he can throw the ball one-handed” -Jay 😂😂😂
Jay sounds a lot like John Gruden.
Boy he sound like Jon Gruden, Jon just has a raspy voice
I dont know if we should trust anything Jay Gruden has to say
Vikings 4 Jj
If youre not right you'll be talking on Underdog 😂
Too far from the TV screen viewing. Don’t need to see all that living space.

Alex Smith? Andrew Luck!
Alex Smith? Seriously?
Great job of not showing the plays 🤦🏿♂️

You ever see Drew Brees without pads?
I mean he's not that thin. 6'2 and 220lbs is decent. I don't think it's a concern.
