Hi guys, Jason and Brooke at cog hill farm did some freeze dried green tomatoes, they then reconstituted them and fried up some green tomatoes. They also did some fresh picked peaches and Brooke made a peach cobbler with reconstituted peaches. Both dishes looked delicious. 😊😊😊

Rachel, they are not only good for scrambled eggs, try them when you are baking. With me using only quail eggs, it is so good. Other people that have never tried quail eggs, still love the powdered eggs. I even freeze dry leftovers, since I don't like eating the same food for many days. I have done not only fresh fruits and veggies, I have done chili, spaghetti, and other leftovers. Did you know, that if you do your bone broth, you can freeze dry 10 quarts of bone broth, and powder it down to one quart jar. So it not only preserves your food for many years, it leaves smaller packages, so you can save up more food in the same space. Blessings.

As a true member of the geriatric generation, I have no use for this. Having said that. I do see a tremendous market for this little jewel. If I could turn back the clock to my freezing and canning days, I would be all over this. Who knew the space age could come to today's kitchen? Thanks for posting this delightful and informative "infomercial". You two did good.

Same generation here. Yeah, dried eggs were a big OMG NO for us. They were horrible and didn't smell or look like eggs. I did a lot of food drying but only fruits and vegetables. My fruit leather was well loved. My daughters were so sick of the no candy rule we had for school lunches. After they grew up, they finally told me their secret. They were trading with their friends. The friends moms didn't make fruit leather. They wanted mine. The girls would get 2 candy bars for one of my lunch servings of fruit leather. Of course, our homemade dryer we would not do eggs or meat in. Everything else was pasteurized before storing. At that time, 30 min in a 250 dg oven would pasteurize and drive of any remaining moisture. Then when cool store in jars or bags. It's my thought that the freeze dried eggs might taste good. The dried eggs back then had chemicals added for preservation. Seems like the Jetsons might have arrived.

I have had my Harvest Right Freeze Dryer for over 2 years. I love it! I have freeze dried eggs, plain and also batches with shredded cheese, diced onions & peppers. I blend mine in my blender for a smooth consistency. But then I also have sliced strawberries, diced onions, broccoli, squash, pineapple, peas, carrots, potato slices, and so much more even candy AND our leftovers to make our own MREs. I love cooking with freeze dried food .
I also make the food for my dogs by freeze drying raw beef liver & salmon, eggs, broccoli, kale, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, peas, carrots, blueberries. They get all of the benefit of raw food with no nutrient loss. They love it!

I am so glad you got a Harvest Right. I have had mine since last August. I really enjoy it. Mine is white. You want to make the kids happy, you need to do a couple candy runs. Ones is suggest, for the kids, is Jolly Ranchers, Marshmellows, and salt water taffy. Then if you freeze your full trays before you put them in the freeze dryer, do a tray of ice cream sandwiches, or using a melon baller, for ice cream bites. Just don't do candy and other foods in the same batch. And if you don't remember who this is, I'm Verna.

Hardboil eggs, then pickle them with either beet juice/sugar/vinegar, or full-strength soy sauce/rice vinegar/sugar. You can also add seasoned salt, creole seasoning, cracked black pepper, crushed red pepper, hot sauce, etc. Just about any seasonings can be used. The eggs can be kept refrigerated nearly indefinitely once they are pickled.
