@@zeraothunderstruck3446 Unlikely. Voldemort, just like Harry, saw Hogwarts as his home. When he was a student there every summer break he wanted to stay at the school rather than go back to the orphanage.
Most heartbreaking for me is that Snape thought his only real friend was dumbledore. He never thought people genuinly liked him and consider him as a friend. The realisation more people cared about him and got killed off instantly must break his heart.
Pay attention of how Snape was watching closely as Nagini was about to eat her, instead of looking away. What he had to do to further deceive Voldemort.
I love the scenes between Lucius and Voldemort. It's really surreal and cathartic watching a man who was once extremely proud, arrogant, pompous, and boastful, being reduced to a quivering, stuttering, terrified mess.
Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape's face of shock when he saw his colleague captured and tortured but tried his darnest to keep composure until Voldemort called onto him was great.
From this scene you can clearly see Snape, Yaxley and Bellatrix are the main lieutenants, Yaxley seemed to have a rise and kinda replaced Lucius in the pecking order after his failures. Lucius so smug in the earlier movies looks broken and scared here. Would have been interesting if Barty Crouch JR was also at the table, see how he would interact with the others I mentioned.
@@MillMilkOwnsScyfish511what I noticed is that unlike others, Voldermort spoke to Severus more like an equal. Of course he didn’t think Severus was his equal, but he saw great value in him, and never spoke down to him like the others.
He actually does despite that, he feels his parents relationship was a mistake and made sure his father paid for it. He rejected his half blood status, accepting himself only of his Slytherin Bloodline. While keeping this knowledge he’s actually half-blood a secret
I'm not going to lie, Lucius's wand is one of my favorites. The snake head handle looks awesome! I could totally picture Tom using that kind of a wand too despite his expression in this vid implying he was thinking: "Dafuq is this shit" when tossing it aside.
Tom's wand style is very loose and flowing, which is probably the most advanced way to do magic. He barely grips the wand when he handles it. Lucius' wand is high class, but not good for nimble, quick magic what with the bottom-heavy handle. I imagine it being the difference between using a mace (Lucius' wand) versus using a sword.
@@ValseInstrumentalist Don't wanna be that guy here. But swords have the center of the mass near the grip while maces actually have it towards the end. So if Lucius' snake head wand was bottom heavy, it would flow much better. Imho Voldy just likes practicality over style, hence why he is dressed the way he is, doesn't bother with his appearance anymore and doesn't care for the wand aesthetics.
@@rezokiladze2334 True, true. I didn't really think about that. Although I do still think that, with something as small as a wand, the extra weight, whether top-heavy or bottom-heavy, would decrease its weildyness. It would require extra care to make sure it's balanced, whereas an unweighted wand like Voldy prefers can be handled by gripping the shaft virtually anywhere without having to worry about it being too off-balance.
Look at Lucius in the goblet of fire speaking to Voldemort all confident and now in the deathly hallows you can see how well the actor portrayed him and showed how Voldemort inspired fear into him
Lucius was Voldemort’s right hand man. But after giving away the diary Horcrux and the complete disaster at the Ministry, Voldemort punished him by sending Draco on a suicide mission, hijacking his house and stealing his wand.
Lucius even backchatted him in Goblet of Fire; I’m actually suprised Voldemort didn’t kill him sooner considering the amount of times he failed him, Peter Pettigrew did a lot better job than Lucius and that’s saying something
I love the look on Voldemort's face after he snaps the silver snake head off Lucius' wand and then chucks it on the table. Just pure "you don't think I'd be caught dead poncing myself up like you, do you?" It fits with how he's always dressed in a simple black robe that's less extravagant than pretty much any other character's clothes. When you've got no need to show off, the lack of display is itself a display of power.
Even though Voldemort trusts Snape, that little look at 4:40 is gauging Snape's reaction to the pleading from a colleague he knew for years. With Snape having just killed Dumbledore weeks before, Snape's non reaction here must have Voldemort only reinforcing his belief on Snape's loyalties having being a question mark for years.
3:54 One little detail that I noticed is how Nagini was resting by the fire place the entire time until she followed Voldemort to the table. This is because snakes are cold blooded and therefore attracted to heat. In fact reptiles, and more commonly snakes, sunbathe (bask) in the mornings to retain as much body heat as possible throughout the day. Don’t know if this reference was on purpose, but if it was, kudos to the production team for hinting this.

Looking back, I honestly felt kinda bad for Lucius. The dark lord came into his house, basically made it into his own headquarters and disrespected Lucius through and through. Snapped his wand, which is very significant to a wizard
It's his own fault for getting involved with Voldemort in the first place and disappointed him when failing missions. The only ones I feel sorry for are his wife and son. Because of Lucius screwing up, Narcissa and Draco had to pay the price with him. Especially Draco who you can tell doesn't want to be a Death Eater but has no choice.
Yaxley: Dawlish the auror has let slip that the Potter boy won't be moved until the 30th of this month. Snape: This is a FALSE trail. Voldemort: ...Calm down Severus.
And thats the moment draco realized hes been a part of a nest of vipers all along. and his father in reality is just another insect in the Dark Lord's basket
Usually I'm a stickler for movie adaptations remaining faithful to books, but the improvisations here were excellent. Voldemort condescending Lucuis Malfoy, particularly parting the decorative fluff from the wand and throwing it away with a contemptuous look, spoke volumes.
I have no idea why but literally every scene with Voldemort I just laugh so hard like for some reason him and his death eaters are just so unintentionally funny, like I think they’re funny cause they look kinda stupid by causing all this hoopla over a 17 year old LMAO
I think the problem with Voldemort from the start and the reason its hard to take him seriously is that is nemesis is a schoolboy, who he tried and failed to kill as a baby. See we’re constantly told that Voldemort is like a more genocidal Hitler/ Hannibal Lectar type villain. That he is so terrible that adults pee their pants at the very mention of his name. But then you take the fact that he got nearly killed by a baby and then actually killed by that same baby that its actually hilarious. Book or Film. If your an all powerful dark wizard and your nemesis is a fucken teenager just in school, its very hard to take a villain like that seriously. It kinda makes him seem pathetic. And not in a creepy child molester way either. See that would’ve made us take him more seriously
@@youtubeistryingtocensorme I think that’s really what makes his character so endearing. He’s the man who’s gotten everything he’s ever wanted, and this stupid kid is an outlier. In scenes like the graveyard scene in GOF and the courtyard scene right before Harry comes back, we see the truly petty nature of his character, and I think that makes him not necessarily funny, but interestingly stupid. His ego and temperament is supposed to come off a little pathetic. It’s what makes him truly rounded out imo
Ikr🤣 he used to scare the shit out of me but scenes like this it just makes me laugh, when he shouts at worm tail and loses his shit it’s hilarious, how a teenage kid has all these grown people arguing lol
The fact that charity didn't even get a dignified death shows you how truly evil Voldemort really is, it's bad enough to kill her but then to feed her to Nagini was just downright barbaric
Ralph Fiennes is such a brilliant actor. Only the finest actors could play a character that evil and complex- and Ralph is undoubtedly one of the best actors in the world and has been for decades. Quite honestly HP fans would have demanded that only one of the best actors in the world- an elite core of very few men- play Voldemort.
You can tell everyone is terrified. The headquarters for everything is set up at Malfoy manor and Lucius has completely lost his backbone so his wife has to step in. Draco along with his mother didn’t have a choice in the matter and Lucius isn’t half of the man he used to be. The death eaters at the table all react in just the right way to comments made by each other and the dark Lord, and everyone playing a prominent figure did a superb job of portraying the seriousness of the scene through subtle actions and sounds. Lucious' and Lord voldemorts actors in particular did an extraordinary job during the exchange where Lord voldemort takes the wand.

Snape just looks depressed the whole time, and the way he looks down after Voldemort kills her is even sadder, he was helpless in this situation, yet another person he cared about taken from him, and he couldn’t do a thing about it.
"Do I detect.......elm?"
Elm wands are highly desirable to pure-blood supremacists due to their reputation for elegant, precise and powerful magic.
I also think that the reason why he snapped off the metal snake not only to mock Malfoy, but it also reminded him too much of Hogwarts.
@@zeraothunderstruck3446 Unlikely. Voldemort, just like Harry, saw Hogwarts as his home. When he was a student there every summer break he wanted to stay at the school rather than go back to the orphanage.
Yeah in fact he even called off the Basilisk attacks and "helped" finding the culprit when he heard they were gonna close Hogwarts.
Most heartbreaking for me is that Snape thought his only real friend was dumbledore. He never thought people genuinly liked him and consider him as a friend. The realisation more people cared about him and got killed off instantly must break his heart.

Trolldemort
Yet Severus was always the Dark Lord’s favourite~

I'm not going to lie, Lucius's wand is one of my favorites. The snake head handle looks awesome! I could totally picture Tom using that kind of a wand too despite his expression in this vid implying he was thinking: "Dafuq is this shit" when tossing it aside.
You’d think Voldemort wouldn’t have minded the snake head

But they are. Voldemort HERE is threatening, but in most scenes he appears, hilarity ensues!
And not in a creepy child molester way either. See that would’ve made us take him more seriously
@@youtubeistryingtocensorme I think that’s really what makes his character so endearing. He’s the man who’s gotten everything he’s ever wanted, and this stupid kid is an outlier.
