Please make a video about synths. They're constantly overshadowed by protogen and they deserve some attention.
The synth community is toxic as hell. They're just a rip-off protogen wannabe in my eyes
@@skrunklyOwO I've been in the Discord and Telegram server for the good part of a year, and I can tell you it's not toxic. Most of the members are older compared to those in the protogen community, meaning more maturity and less toxicity.

@@skrunklyOwO May i query on the specific case(s) of toxicity your refering to? as for the most part I've seen folks be very kind in synth community, I wont lie and say its perfect as some toxic folks exist everywhere. the most consistent toxic thing I can think of is the "cold war" some synth folks seem to foster towards the protogens.
This is just my opinion, but I think Primagens should have just been open. Not that there was anything legally allowing them to keep it closed in the first place, but furries are capable of immense social pressure when they want to in their own circles. Not to mention the fact people did intentionally and wildly outbid everyone else just to have a Primagen character, when the creation of them was exclusive to the original artist. Protogens were "open", however they were limited by what details were "allowed". Even if you think an "illegal" character design should be stamped out for not abiding to certain rules, law dictates that nobody can own the rights to a certain appearance or species. Best you can do is get a lawyer and a judge to agree to make an individual character copyright exclusive to you.
Another problem can also arise, and this is related to why species can't be lawfully copyrighted, there's a good chance somebody on the dark corners of the internet already created that thing or something similar under a different name. I mean think about it, if somebody created a Primagen look-alike back in 2005, but somebody in 2019 had found and thought it was "illegal", what would happen? Somebody would be bullied and harassed just because an uninformed busybody was too focused on being somebody's attack dog.
All species should be open, and if you don't want other people taking your "original species", don't publicize it. Otherwise somebody at some point will come across it and want to make their own, and stopping them is cruel in of itself. Then by this point, it's not longer a matter of considering the feelings of who created it, you have to consider every single person's feelings who wanted one and made their own.
Ah the furry fandom and terminal uniqueness. Why pay rent or better your irl self when you could have a super exclusive fursona on the internet?? I hope the artist recovered and can still find joy in the fandom :c
Closed species just...kinda suck, both morally and in law. You can't copyright a species, fortunately but it's just kinda greedy to ask people to pay for 1 member of a species, even if it's "unique"
I agree, I feel like the stuff about "closed species" and "semi-open species" shouldn't be taken seriously anymore. At worst it's simply non-canon.
@@draconic5129 wtf does semi-open even mean? If it's not closed, it's open...you can't be half open...you're either open or closed.
@@cinnastag semi-open means that they don't charge you to make one, or require that you get permission but they put an arbitrary list of guidelines and will usually react with a great deal of immaturity when people decide not to follow them, in the same way as when people try to create a character with a closed species.
In contrast a fully open species can be edited and modified to your heart's desire, in theory there is a point where what you've created is no longer the original species but that's up for debate and is dependent on the situation.
Again these conventions are incredibly stupid, they don't have legal ground and overall are just incredibly immature. Reminds me of the kids on the playground who are fighting over toys after they were told to share 🤦♂️.
@@draconic5129 Open species are like...the only good ones, and smart. It's open which means more folks will use them and therefore more folks will see them, just creates a positive feedback loop.
And open species is basically the equivalent of someone using a species from a show as a base for their OC, or how DnD characters have races that's nothing more than a base for stats and appearance.

I know I'm late to this, but I feel like I should clarify a few things.
2:52 The last auction actually went higher than that, up to $3,000 (possibly more).
3:44 There actually has been a lot of progress, though it's all been behind the scenes. The official website should be out by the end of this year.
7:25 Protogen only have biological ears. What you're likely calling "digital ears" here are fins on the cheek panel.
10:19 Until the official website is up, I would recommend checking the official hubs on Instagram, Discord, Furaffinity and Facebook, as those are where most resources are going to be.

A few things: most use the Kaiborg face but the looks are shifting to
to more boxy, reason being is that people want to use the P5 1mm led panels
and there has been more suits and face designs since then, although I have
not posted the ones I have created... yet...

any others I'm aware of are pretty straight forward.
squeaky dragon, smell good, and no ring on the muzzle.
regular dragon, no being blue or folding your arms.
deer, be a twink
hyena, have a substance abuse problem
dog, be basic, have a fox boyfriend
coyote, be on youtube
any bird, if your mullet goes past your shoulders you need to wear a hat.
all felines , smell terrible, have an EMT certification
wolf, have a large amount of student debt and no degree to show for it.

As an artist myself, I would be lucky to have this kind of character design to sell them on auctions. We all need a stable and nice income.

Closed species can't be copyrighted/trademarked or enforced whatsoever therefore any closed species including primagens are technically open as unofficial primagens exist and they no longer blacklist and harass and dox people since its illegal and it got a bunch of backlash from it and the whole thing causes nothing but drama and negativity. To put things in perspective closed species are just a furry version of Non Fungible Tokens (NFTS) and I call them Furry NFTS. Its also a method of gatekeeping and exclusionism like nothing will stop you from being creative and drawing whatever you want when you're legally allowed to so if you wanna make a primagen/protogen fursona and suit go ahead but just dont associate with their official groups and I been told this by a few official primagens I'm friends with. Closed species creators can go be greedy somewhere else we don't need their bullshit around. And if I wanted to I could easily remake Kaiborg Studios, Furbitten Studios, and Garuda Studios primagen suit designs in Blender or SolidWorks but I won't since I already made my own design that's way better and way more accurate than theirs anyway.

@@SampleExperiment You're probably thinking of the rare protogen MYO forms, which are currently on hold. Primagen, even the MYOs, have only ever been sold at auctions.
