I just love this video. I first came across it when I was learning the game and it made no sense to me. Every time I've come back to this video after improving, it's really helped improve my game. Oki is always a tricky navigation of timing, technique and mindgames and I definitely miss t6/tag 2 oki. Great stuff.
Appreciate all the positive feedback, fellas. :) And sorry if I don't include your favorite character(s); the videos would simply end up too large in length.
This video is timeless. Excellent presentation, concise explanation, great examples.
one of the best produced tekken tutorials. in hindsight you gotta appreciate the clean video capture, which was so rare in 2010 and the excellent editing and explanation of hidden/arcane game mecahnics. great video.
This is SO good. You are such a good teacher - pausing the video at perfect moments to clarify explanations.
you just made your subscribers into advance tekken players after knowing this... it took me years to realize this things but now its on youtube and can be learned for weeks..
good job byakoko
Kaz
1:28 Quick roll back
1:54 Floored
3:00 Downed
3:14 Frame trap
4:29 Cross-up
5:29 Quick get up
6:26 Tech trap
That's what we smart players call "making a read". You can know what your opponent will do in a match, if you use the information in the video correctly. This just helps understand the basics of okizeme and how you can manipulate opponents on the ground.
Probably one of the most educational Tekken vids on RUclips-nice.
Gotta love your tutorials man! :D
The last hint about tech traps being the most effective against opponents who land on their stomach was especially helpful! :D
Wow man, I'm blown away by the amount of effort put into this! Simply Excellent.
Man you have some really awesome tutorials better than what most people have.
Wow, this is the best tekken tutorial ive seen so far: simple, short and very well documented. Actually I was searching for TTT2 videos. If you play TTT2, please make more videos!
Poor Mokujin! :-(
I feel your pain :.(
I've seen your tutorials since my beginner days and have always really dug them, didn't realize it was the Lepard jacket Lee until today when I recognized your username in the vid. Anyways I just think thats really cool, it was a pleasure to have played u.
@AgentKyo
Right now, I'm trying to do some SSF4 videos real quick, then get back to Tekken. For Tekken 6 though, I will do a throw break tutorial for sure, and I'll put the ultimate tackle in there. For 10 hit strings, I may do a tutorial, but for now, just go to practice and go to defensive training. Most of them, you can low jab them out of; others you may have to low parry. It depends on the character, really.
thanx for the vid I knew some okizemes and traps in the game but not all u taught me something new. Yet again thanx man
Wow this video really helps with makeing combos. Now I know some strategys to keep it going even after the other player trys to roll back.
I like how the creator replies by “@“ instead of actually replying; the video is old, what do you expect?!
wow im a new fan :) ur vids have some of the best quality i've seen and i hope to learn to become quite good in tekken
Cross Up was the best one for me! ^_^ I've never knew that before. Now I do, Thanks for uploading this.
Btw, this should be enough for [us] to make [our] own traps or okizemes with [our] character of choice :)
didnt expect this kind of tutorial around good stuff . il need this if im to get into teken
AMK
1:01 Quick roll back
1:59 Quick roll back (floored)
2:46 Downed
3:44 Frame trap
4:36 Jump over
5:46 Quick get up
5:57 Tech trap
6:11 Stomach tech
what i mostly do is, in the first round i would try resets or okizeme and other thing that you showed in the video and hopefully try to find out what the player is doing and than follow it up through out the match if the player doesn't realize. Which most of the online players don't realize
something i noticed was that when he was doing the frame advantage its kinda like setting yourself up to counter hit someone so if there is a combo that is counter attack specific it would be a good time to use it.
best tutorial videos on youtube ever!
Making an educated guess based on your opponent's reaction is making a read. Essentially, it's a guess, yes, but an educated one. It's not just theory; it's actual techniques that every high level player uses. And keep in mind this video is really old and some of the characters shown I didn't know what their oki setups actually were at the time. For some characters, it's not even much risk to go for a setup.
wow... i've been using this strategy with my Lei before i saw this video :P especially the frame traps, thats a good name for it, and the "vs back roll (floored)"
@byakokoko Awesome vid, are you doing for ttt2 soon? You'd probably be my first stop to learning ^^
Anyways, keep it up mate
5:46 The bad thing about this combo is by the time Armor King's combo is over, you will be the one on the floor and the opponent can potentially utilize his okizeme game on YOU :/
i love these videos.. they are so resourceful!
Very informative and useful tutorials! Subscribed. ^^
Great tutorial! Very useful and very well explained =)
This guy definitely beat scenario campaign in one hour lol jk but I now feel like a changed tekken gamer knowing this stuff he's teaching
wow this vid includes tutorial and combos!
Great tutorial once again
@bryangener2k
Oh sorry for the really late reply. The song at the end of the video is from Tekken 5. It's the poolside theme.
Yea go byakokoko!!!!
u rock!!!
excellent presentation and very useful info:D
@AgentKyo what i try to remember is that most characters 10 hits combo always end with a low then a mid laucher.
so usually on the 9th hit its a low, so u press d/f and low parry it
but its not all and hard to remember so many of the 10 hits combos
Excelent Tech bro. Thanx a lot.
he's got a lot of stuff for every situation :)
When I play, I purposely drop a combo to see if my opponent will roll or not, if they do, they are getting resetted as many times as it takes for them to stop doing it. Lars, in particular, is good at punish backrolling.
Thanks for dumbing it down for me. I don't totaly understand tekken lingo. Excellent video.
Toe_Knee_Stark
@ImAMassiveBender If they ground you, meaning your lying on the ground. If you don't want to take those mix ups just get hit once while on the ground so it knocks you back a bit so you can roll away. This game also makes you think on a level on how you should recover as well as attack.
!BYAKKOKO YOU ARE THE WAY HOW TO PLAY TEKKEN !
Sick video, as usual. :)
Mind making a Video Tutorial for those Moves?
I love how you do those combos with Baek Doo San.
Wait a second! Im a King user; i am really unlikely to able to prevent being "punished" once im blocked. How did you pull that off with Armour King at 3:50.
BTW; i constantly tap "back" button to make sure some combos don't connect when the opponent tries to pull it off; But could that leave me unprotected if i tap it at a wrong time? I feel like im getting hit with high attacks while blocking sometimes. Nice videos BTW really helpful :)
oh nice mokujin combo
@BaronZTUKHH
They may not yield any actual reward, other than bragging rights perhaps, I wouldn't go so far as to say they mean nothing. It really depends on the game. Mirror's Edge, Megaman 9, 10, and Ninja Gaiden 2 are some of the most difficult to obtain. Granted, they don't yield much, aside from maybe bragging rights, they can be fun to hunt for perfectionists. Tekken 6 is an extremely easy platinum, however.
wonderfully done!! thanks
I'm sorta having a hard time thinking of a quick-roll-back-setup with Jin. People usually use tech roll after being juggled.
You gained a fricking subscriber
nice vid need to watch more
I believe you.
Never in my entire life have I seen someone use a crossup as a defensive strategy against getup kicks.
That seems... REALLY impractical.
savage. great tutorial
Thank you sooo much for this!
You are a tekken God's God! superb!
we want more vids! please! :(
nice armor king costume
@goatdean12 f,f+4 or df+2,2 or uf+3 are some examples
I have a couple of friends that are nooby in that they roll backwards all the time. I punish it every time while saying "they always roll backwards" to teach them a lesson. Only one of them started wising up and lays on the ground. I had tell the others to just stand up or crouch guard.
SWEET!!...good stuff...
Is this byakko from dfw: the soul caliber player?
Yeah! True man =D Hmmm... Thanks for vids perfect quality =) Nice moves ;)
Great video you're the best ^_^
@FireTrainer92 oh, ok. my bad... :P thanks man
....
nice tuttorial keep it up. =)
how ur do/ what the input for jump right in the back of opponet when they r on the ground.? thx .. cool tactic u got there!
Could u make a tutorial bout countering 10 hits combo moves (its gets annoying when sum1 spams it) or about ultimate tackle?
so nice, lathough i dont have ps3 and tekken 6, i am planning to buy it :)
so helpful, thank u very much
Wo-o-o-o-ogh! 6 stars.
you should hurry up with that Mokujin Combo Video !!!1!!
kewl. i can totally use these tutorials =) please wait 'till i master my asuka ^_^
nice baek combo
EXCERENTU!
That's not entirely true. There are times when rolling back will avoid some okizeme setups. However, a player who back rolls every time on wake up might just be a noob.
man I thought I was doing something with Lee's new Tekken 6 moveset. You make me feel like a weakling :(
@dmtyuan67 ohh thanks , I didn't know they could juggle in quick rolls , i just thought they would just knock them down again.
i dont like u any more man...... ur too kick ass. JK, BUT DAMN I LOVE UR VIDZ!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR THE MOKUJIN ONE!!!! AND I LOVE THE SONG U PUT AT THE END. Is ur friend list full cause ill love to fight u sometime. Im a really good mokujin player. but still.. i give u 5.....HUNDRED STARZ!!!!
@FireTrainer92 what do "d and f" stand for? the buttons are square, triangle, circle(o) and x right....?
how about walls?
when your opponent is knocked towards the wall, use forward forcing moves (only for breakable walls) so your opponent still be in air and you get a chance to keep juggling.
P.S. when the wall is not breakable, just use wall combos.
How much practice will you need to put in to get this good. I don't know if I can be arsed.
this is useful thanks
sweetass
woo keep it up.
I was just playing this game on psp, and I used Anna's IMPLODING STAR on Leo and when Leo hit the ground, She or He landed with her feet and one hand on the ground and she was sliding back into a recovery. Is this a trick that only Leo can do? It looked soo cool and I want to know how to do it.
WTF is that launcher Kaz uses at 3:06, he lauches with his elbow, its like a reverse EWGF.
wow very good
These tips are just amazing thx(because I'm a noob :/ ) :D
what u mean is not making a read, it's making a trap...
all of this combo and action could be fail, depends on the opponent, and it's also have risk.(ex: 5:37 you will be vulnerable if the opponent just wait, and if you wait for opponent to quick getup u might be late and blocked,it's gamble)
i mean no one can read minds, you could only predict what opponent might do, and it's come from experience
this is just theory, but i don't say it's useless
no need to act like a smart, ckckck
what did you do at 2:15 and 3:43 with hwoarang? the kick in mid-air....
Define "quick get up" please? How is it performed?
how do you do that attack of Kazuya with extra power? I try, but I only get normal version of it. sometimes I'm lucky though. 03:05
Isn't okizeme sometimes called rebound?
Thanks for this
Thx.
