You are the ONLY video I could find explaining the furdown a/c unit! You explained it where the layman can understand how the unit is constructed and how it works. Thank you for your helpful video.

@@alexthehandyman3494 I was quoted a new brush Motor + installation but using your video I tracked the issue to a faulty relay which was $15 off amazon to replace

how do you clean/maintain the drain hose on these units? I'm in a condo. I have no idea where it comes out of the condo building!

Thank you so much. Oh my goodness. It's so difficult to find videos on fan coils. 😢 Where is the drain pipe? Is the safety switch also connected/can it be connected to the drain switch?

Hello. Go to min 10.30. It has two main drains. One to each side of the drain. You chose one . Most units I see do not have a switch to kill the power if it clogs and overflows. Usually is just a hose as a drain. That’s because there is no room for anything but you can have one installed if you want to avoid costly damages by water When they clog they make a mess . Thanks for watching.

I’m dealing with having to replace this relic right now along with my 20 year old AC condenser. Same set up, no heating just AC. l’m getting quotes of $4k-$6 for the condenser plus another $$3k-$6k to change out the ceiling mounted fan coil. So far two quotes are $9.3k and $10k. Absolute insanity, I had no clue how much this type of set up costs. If you have this definitely keep up the maintenance because you’re on borrowed time and it’s gonna be a fortune to replace.

do you not find the amount of rust too much and warrant a baffle and drain pan replacement?

I have a similar model. Any idea on why I only get heat to blow out when its on AC?

Hello, it could be 10 different things.
1 low refrigerant or nothing at all, maybe a leak.
2 check condenser. It might not be working due to a bad capacitor or contactor.
3 Make sure is calling for cool.

Mine is exactly like that. The fan is blowing but for some reason, I'm not getting any airflow through the ducts. All the connections are good. I have no idea what to do. In trying to clean the coils. I had to replace the capacitor and transformer outside already on the AC condenser unit. That seems to be working. But without any airflow into the ducts, it just trips the high-limit switch and shuts off. I really need some help. Any suggestions would be nice.

Hello , Make sure condenser is clean.\
      Replace the filter
The fan motor might be working but the squirrel cages(2) might be broken. Remove the cover and and see if they are in good shape.
See if the ducts are kinked or disconnected.
good luck . Keep me posted.

The only thing you didn’t show how to fix is when the heat isn’t working. I have my heat on and the fan is blowing but the heating coils aren’t getting hot.
