Yes. Always use the anchors and studs that came with the new bridge. Even if you have to drill new holes. Unless you know for sure the studs are made of the same material as the base plate knife edges. Any mismatch will prematurely wear out the posts or the edges, which ever is the sifter material.

Gotoh bridges are said to sound amazing, I have no experience with them but for the people installing them is a good upgrade

I used a light coat of bees wax to lube the anchor shaft. It worked fine. Installation was super easy compared to the LFR I had previously. Big difference from the el cheapo version. Tried a special first but i returned it . The special seemed really cheaply made comparatively. No tuning issues anymore.

    Hey Stephen. Good video, thanks
One trick I use to remove the anchors is to drop a piece of metal (I use a PCB standoff) into the hole and then tighten the bridge post down. This pushes the anchor out with no risk of damage to the finish

Guys stop with driling for the bigger posts just because it comes with a gotah no need to do that but if you are upgrading from a floyd special you do need to order off of Amazon upgraded stainless steel original floyd style posts and install and you may want to spend the extra 16 dollars for the guyker stainless steel stud upgrades so you don't run into the extra long stud issue. And you get upgrades locking but studs or screws too it's well worth it to spend an extra 30 dollars to avoid these extra headaches and avoid damaging your guitar when upgrading from floyd specials remember plan your builds no what you need to do and what you need before you just start driling bigger holes in your guitar when a little extra money will save you a bunch of headaches.

Never did. It works great the way that I installed tho. I have been doing a lot more tremolo dive bombs & back & forth tricks since the video. It stays in tune really well.

those screws are used for setting your desired string height and not having to fiddle to get it the way you had it if you accidently spun the post while setting it up etc. inside the allen key head theres a small screw inside of that allen head. you screw the set screw all the way in and then when you get your string height where you want it you can screw the inside set screw all the way to the bottom of the bushing. not only is it nice for getting your action the way you want it everytime, iit helps for tuning stability because the post is lock tight so there is no play even when theres no tension against the post

Tapped studs in slowly with abit of wood ontop the stud I never went crazy just taking my time and they will just go in my friend trust me!! U will manage what a difference with them studs mate tuning is absolutely sweet I only tune my guitar like 1 weekly just a quick tune it never needs much, and I use vibrato bending diving alot mate and still it stays in tune!! Floyd Rose 2? Where did you find one of those? I have one on my 1994 Fotoflash Japan Fender Strat...I thought they made those Floyd's in Japan or Korea?....anyway. I did have a screw strip. Easy fix. A drop of Loctite, let it dry, maybe put on a skinny shim for more "grab" and re-drill the hole...The bar snapped? Wow! I am not that agrressive.. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.Cheers!

Not exactly "hardened steel" haha. Not the most sustain, the saddle screws can strip,.But it's on a 1994 Strat so I guess it's a keeper? Hard to upgrade without re-routing. Cool channel thanks.

@@algrundau9441 It is funny but, the Floyd Rose 2 was introduced to try to give a more vintage tone and appeal to older players. To do that they used zinc alloy instead of steel. The whole reason a good bridge is a good bridge is because it is made of steel, and not zinc alloy lol. The Floyd Rose 2 is pretty much worse than a Floyd Rose Special, but at the time cost the same as a Floyd Rose Original lol.
