video game logic. you can do amazing shit like beat up a mob by yourself. or jump 3 floors down and walk away without any breakage. but fall in water and suddenly you'll sink like a stone.

It's funny how, throughout the entire Yakuza series (including the first Judgment/Judge Eyes), the QTEs have pretty much remained the same throughout with little to no change or variation in how the Button Prompts are done. And yet this is the Game where they've decided to just completely rewrite the whole formula in how they're done, without any prior warning about the change for the Players either... Imho though, this is kind of an example of the RGG Devs trying to "Fix" something that wasn't even broken in the first place. As, from my experience at least, the Button Prompts for some of the QTEs ended up feeling kinda jank tbh. Especially the ones involving Analog Sticks, those things are really sensitive and finicky, you end up holding on it for too long (or even just angle it at slightly the wrong direction) it'll end up counting as a failed Button Prompt. So yeah, as you'd expect, I ended up seeing a lot of these QTE fail screens. Ngl I remember being pretty dumbfounded when I kept failing Watanabe's QTE in his fight and getting instant K'Od everytime because of it. I only got past it when I realised I should probably let go of the stick after pressing it lol, not too mad about that tbh I'm actually kinda impressed. And in retrospect, the QTE itself was actually pretty funny. Was MORE annoyed with the one in Soma's second fight though, and how you had to keep fighting him everytime you failed the QTE until you actually got it right in the end. Just ended up getting more and more annoyed everytime it happened until I finally won in the end. Kuwana's QTE at least only took me no more than a couple of trys to get right. Tl;dr - But mixed on the QTEs, but at the end of the day, if it ain't broke don't fix it RGG!
Don’t gaslight yourself, it’s garbage game design. RGG always has to sneak something in that defeats their own game design. They’re incapable of just making a game enjoyable. There has to be some forced tedium to annoy the player.
While the last 2 QTE is VERY cool, I hate that you have to complete them to win. I feel that it make the fight less impactful, like "No matter how well you fought, you have to take this exact route to win". Plus, if we accidentally failed, we have to do it again, it could get repetitive.
It’s better than auto losing like they’ve done in the past. Only thing that sucks about it is the QTE itself is fairly boring and the full of buttons for a simple as hell action
I mean, most of these are fighting game inputs. The only way you can get them on the 1st try is if you go through the Virtua-Fighter story doing special inputs instead of button mashing.
Lack of QTEs in Lost Judgment saddens me T.T Though that damn Tesso's QTE surprised the shit out of me like damn had a panic attack seeing three prompts >.
For the life of me I don’t know how to pull off some of the QTEs. Tried everything. Press them really quickly, press them in rthymn, anyone give me a clue???!!!
You know, I wouldn't mind multi-string QTE if they all were like Soma and Kuwana's QTE: instead of getting hit and the fight going on, the boss regenerates so you have to nail the QTE. Because I wanted to see all QTEs done right, and having to let myself get killed just so I could restart the fight and try it again was such a hassle.
Failing the QTE is a lot more realistic than succeeding. Normal people wouldn't have a chance against this kinda crap... And Wattanabe being a detective, it makes sense he'd toss you prettyquick.
How do I even do the QTEs do I do it the same as other Yakuza games or just press and hold them like (R1 + SQUARE + TRIANGLE) And I hold all of them too complete the QTE this is confused me the most
Yagami getting hit by a chainsaw = 5% damage, it's just a scratch
Yagami getting yeeted into a water = *DEATH*
The "invigorator" of Yakuza 7, ahem, did his thing in that water. Instantly makes it 100x more lethal than any chainsaw.
He's secretly a character from the early GTA games... So the Judgement games really are GTA Japan 😅
