    Die Überschrift „simple“ passt bei dem vielen verschiedenen Spezialwerkzeug nicht. Es sieht einfach aus, ist aber ziemlich umfangreich.

      The Idea is simple and you could make it as simple as you want. Cut a a circle out of wood with a small hand saw (as shown in the video) and then cut a v shape notch at the top. All you need is a drill , a little saw and a screw driver. It can be done with basic tools, it just takes a little longer and the project might not look as refined but fully functional.

    Cool idea. Looks like fun. I'm going to try it. I know it's cheaper to simply buy a bird house but making something is the fun and crafty part. Plus it's good for nature. 🙂 I guess the other douche that commented can't relate.

    Cracking idea, but I think the occupants, i.e. eggs and/or nestlings would overheat in hot weather. However, it would work fine if hidden amongst foliage and that’s what I’m going to do. The birds always search for the best sites and would find one such as this.

    • @massoudmakes
      @massoudmakes  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you must make sure it doesn't over heat. I have placed it in a place where it's mostly in the shade, it gets a little sun early in the morning.

      I have been watching the cats and because there are wooden trellis on the fence they cannot walk on the fence. The only way is if they manage to jump straight on the fence post and if they do that I'm sure some spikes on the post will solve that problem.

    Wet your pot to drill. And also can wet pot if its clay and drill bottom hole out larger and reverse pot for house opening and make oppositely birdhous.cover with clay draining tray

    Additional holes needed for ventilation and a perch going through the hole, other wise birds are trapped inside and also die from suffocation.

    • @massoudmakes
      @massoudmakes  2 года назад +3

      The plant pot stays cool as it doesn't get much sunlight also a perch is not a good idea because big birds can use it to grab the chicks.

    • @keshatton2334
      @keshatton2334 2 года назад +2

      THE RSPB do not encourage the use of a perch as predators such as Jays, magpies can use it to stand on and reach in. Small birds will find it ok without a perch.

    should have tilted the band saw table as you cut the curve then you wouldnt have needed to sand so much and drill the hole from both sides

    • @massoudmakes
      @massoudmakes  3 года назад +1

      I know how to do angle cut on the band saw but not many people have a band saw. I used the band saw for quickness but for people who use a coping saw (as shown in the video) they need to see how to get the angled edges. I didn't drill from both sides because I was drilling at an angle and I used a sacrificial piece under it which minimises any tear out.

      If you think the hole is too small and the baby birds can't come out then how on earth did the mother bird, which is larger, managed to get in and lay the eggs in the first place.
