When I was reading the Bible on Genesis 6 (The Days of Noah) in April 2020 last year, the tune of “Sound of Silence” (released in 1964) suddenly came into my mind. With the recent technological developments, the lyrics of this song seem to be taking form.

Incredible. I think we have officially entered the days of Noah once again. It's not hard to see, it's all around us...and it's just how scripture described
Such a beautifully done remake of a very special song to me. I am old enough to remember when this song originally came out while I was in high school during the sixties. Thank you for doing this song. To me the meaning is relevant today. The neon light refers to the tv which had become very popular and people stopped communicating as much and it became more of an idol. This is still true today and even more so with tv, computers, and smart phones. As Christians we need to put Christ as our focus and not these potential idols.

Our hope and faith need to be with our creator not in the world, becuase as the same way we came here because God wanted and love us so much we will go. All is passenger. The world is a mess because we did it,and we receive all the consequences of our freedom to choose rather is good or bad. And unfortunately everyone can pay for the wrong attitudes of others. Lord still love us if not, would have stopped everything suddenly. He wants most of his children be saved, but that's a choice we make to follow him or not. All this suffering one day will stop and we will be in frent of our holy and pure king. Dear God, thanks for your love, mercy and kindness. Thank you to put me in the earth. Thank you for the air i breath, the perfection you did me. Thank you to be so persistent on me while i was living far from you, your grace never stop. Thank you to give me Jesus Christ. That i believe more in you every day and i decide to follow your light and shiny path instead of the dearkness there is outside and even in myself. I ask you purify me always with the blood of Jesus and that your holy spirit every day guide me to you!

I've been re-reading the book of Jeremiah and this is the PERFECT song to accompany it. Thank you so much for your courageous vulnerability. It's sad that I now feel weird saying "You're in my prayers," because it's become such a cringy/self-righteous thing for people to say, but I hope you know what I mean by it: I bring your name before God when I unpack my own doubts and fears at His feet. And I am thankful to have your voice throughout this journey.

Arrangements that are in disarray are usually that way on purpose... A song that has a very simple and pronounced melody with many resoluted minor and major chords arranged in disarray.... It's like you are trying to make a point....

I thought you meant that Audrey was out of tune. It's a strange arrangement for sure. I found it moving, but I don't think I'll be listening to it again.
Was just telling my husband it's like the rhythm of her voice and the rhythm of the music doesnt match...it messes with the ears...absolutely beautiful vocals, though!

If melancholy music just isn't your jam, I totally get it. But there's plenty of melancholy in the Bible. There's a whole book entitled Lamentations. I'm currently re-reading the book of Jeremiah and this song feels SO fitting.
