I definitely agree with the sentiment that the DLC lacks content, and I think that mainly becomes an issue when the game expects you beat 12 runs minimum to get everything. What's there is good, but it fell short for me when comparing it to the level of content in Octo Expansion.
If it just had some more variety it would be peak. Needs more floor modes and bosses so that it doesn't get routine so quickly. I also found it pretty easy but I've heard a lot of other people struggling so... whatever.
I LOVED Side Order, my only one complaint is that there's not MORE of it! I really wanted there to be more than just the three bosses, there's a good enemy variety but I only find two of the three bosses somewhat challenging, so a fourth or even fifth boss would be nice to spice things up. I also wish there was more challenge options besides disabling all of your hacks and purposefully picking the hardest option every time, like an optional hard mode that exclusively has Hard or (whatever the hardest difficulty is called) tier levels, with maybe higher chances for doubled chips, prlz on every third or fourth floor instead of every 5th, etc.
I myself agree with the complaints of repetitiveness, but something I want to point out: most roguelikes also have similar set layouts and patterns for their procedural generation. But with Side Order, most people are playing a game they’re already familiar with, so people start noticing patterns sooner. Again, these points are completely valid, but it’s just a little unfair to compare a nearly decade-old series to entirely new games in terms of repetitiveness.
This is one of my favorite dlc’s I have ever played, now yes I have min maxed somewhat the hell out of the hacks, yet I still sometimes have skill issues and get very close to losing runs but idm it’s fun either way. My favorite part of the dlc is the speedrun aspect of it. And even tho there isn’t that much variety. Once you start playing more and running into the same levels over time you start finding which ones are more optimal to play for speed or choosing another level with more of a better chip. And learning which chips are the best for your loadout, like no matter what the objective is for the most part, if I am playing a charge weapon I give up EVERYTHING for quick charge, and the same for weapons which benifit better with Main firing speed. My fastest run has been with charger being a 14:15 after 3 attempts of trying to get a sub 25 min. And like it was so fun going into levels and analyzing the path, especially the 8 ball levels. Figuring out which ball is more optimal to go into each zone is the best, it’s just fun, the dlc is so fun, even if sometimes it becomes a blur with how fast you can go sometimes. Like with the 14:15 run I didn’t even know I was going that fast xD
@@GardenAsada thank ya^^ that’s how my first runs were, my first dualie run was 42 minutes and after I did every palette I did another run of dualies and got just over 20
Splatoon 4's story mode is likely to take the gameplay from side order and improve it. Splatoon 3's story mode was just more octo expansion and that was a good thing. I think they are going the same for Splatoon 4
I would absolutely love if this mode was expanded in the future (I highly doubt it) if this was bigger than it currently is I would definitely end up playing it more than the multiplayer modes
It's probably wishful thinking if they added additional content to side order (the mooks don't even have badges for splatting them which bums me out) but if they did add more content per season. Like new mooks and bosses. Hacks that force danger, or harder floors only More stuff to get with prls New palettes for folks that want an "Order Spray" or "Order range blaster" or pallettes that give you hero shots from 1 and 2, but they're now a cosmetically different aerospray and splash o matic respectively. And personally, a multi-player spire mode.
I really like this DLC. I already finished the game and beat it with all different weapons. I like the music, atmosphere & the amount of different upgrades and color chips. I do have some complaints like the small amount of different challenges and small amount of different stages. After a few runs it does start to feel a little stale. I still enjoyed it and I like the character interactions.
I love this dlc so much, really thing I say is meh is the enemies and the lvl's, but I disagree with it getting stale after awhile, every run is different (unless u run perfect palettes everytime), so I thinm this was defs worth the wait!
AGREED. I had lights out on a rigourous 2-zone splatzone floor when I did a run today and it was horrendous! I hate those flying sprinkerfish with every fiber of my being.
Honestly the only problem with side order i have is that it is to short. And when i beat the final boss i thought there was going to be more things but i was disappointed
Enough of Main Range, Main Power Distant, and Main piercing on almost any weapon makes any run peak. I've already beat it with every weapon including the Octo Shot
I’ve bet it 8 time since it came out I love it since I’ve never played octo expansion because they were still selling splatoon 2 for 60$ at my target 💀
after beating the dlc 100%, the dlc was pretty underwhelming. my first few runs were pretty hard, but after my first win the game got easier and easier. the final weapon was a pain until i turned all of my hacks on. hacks are stronger than the abilities.
God of War Ragnarok - roguelike dlc Last of Us II - roguelike dlc I mean pointless remaster with roguelike game mode Splatoon 3 - roguelike dlc What's next!? Roguelike Elden Ring dlc Elden Ring dlc is not a roguelike
That was my biggest let down really, compared to the Octo-expansion the levels didn't really feel very different from one another. The OST this time round wasn't really it either but overall I had a fun time with it. :3
that dude who posted each day until the pearlina dlc can finally rest
Saw that person lol. I respect it!
Also yes! I'm aware Enter The Gungeon is a rogue "like" not "lite" but I didn't have any roguelite games on my PC 😂🤷♂️

Honestly after playing more runs since making this. I still love it! But the lack of content part is starting to set in more then before for sure.
I’ve played through side order like 6 times and it still hasn’t gotten stale
i’ve gotten all but the shiver and agent 8 palletes done, the latter having not been unlocked yet
If it just had some more variety it would be peak. Needs more floor modes and bosses so that it doesn't get routine so quickly.

I think you have a good point there ngl.

I haven't had time to do much more with it but I'm hoping to do all pallettes myself!
I love it! It’s really fun even when I’ve played it eight times to the final floor.

Please keep these Gmod stuff up 😂
I have to say drone splat gage up with drone inkstike is BROKEN

this DLC is a nice change, even if not everyone might like it, i do think that it has its place
Ahhhh... I love side order.
There might not be many enemies
But they all seem inspired by music therminology
I hope someone makes a video showing those references
Side order is amazing but I feel sad that Agent 4 isn't back
Poor girl essentially never existed at this point 😂
@@GardenAsada Nintendo could have used more potential for them 😔
I think the dlc is PEARLfect :D
Perfect pun. Golf clap for you!
@@GardenAsada yay I love ya vids btw
i realised you finally got your hands on a capture card, cool

Idk if Nintendo has ever made roguelite games before but… for their potentially? first one, I don’t think it’s too shabby. I love the genre.
3:04 oh hey, I know that floor
9:05 that is so gay and i love it.
already???
I like your art of No.8 in your thumpnail❤
Thanks!
Nice video! Personally I agree with you about this game, it’s amazing. (PS screw the lights out danger option.)
I hate lights out.

That's messed up but Nintendo almost never discounts games
Hot take but I think a Splatoon battle royale would be great

Wow I'm the complete opposite lol
