Ya Woopie Doo it may work well with a nice overlay ao a recorded Speech but it really CRAPS OUT when trying to make subtitles from a video with Remote Mic inputs or recordings where the subject turns away from the camera. Or there is a noise background. Guess One can't complain Even Studio is better than Premiere ever was and a F of a lot less expensive. I know I gave Adobe thousands.

This feature is not with Davinci Resolve. It is with Davinci Resolve Studio, which is a paid ersion.
And which is not that expensive 🫰 compared to Adobe premiere subscription! Trust me, worth every penny!

I edit with Davinci resolve and I caption with CapCut. Saves me a lot of time. Efficiency is key with editing.

Under export section at the bottom you need to click “export subtitle” and burn in to video

you could use other programs or free ai websites to get a subtitle file you can import into resolve.

On the Deliver Page at the bottom there's "Subtitle Settings" make sure you select Export Subtitle > Format > Burn Into Video

I have the most up to date version of Davinci Resolve and the "create subtitles from audio" is not even listed as an option under Timeline
probably because you don't have the studio version
You also need the 18.5 beta version of studio. It’s a separate download

You can cut and change where the transitions are. There’s not yet a “transitions” setup yet though
