I was just 16 years old in 1973 when I heard Elvis sing this song in his Aloha from Hawaii satelitte special. I became an instant fan. Fast forward to Dec 2022, I am a forever fan now so I revisted Graceland & to see his Automobile & Costume exhibits. The suit ELVIS wore in 1973 on this video is called the Red, White & Blue American Eagle (Eagle design across his chest) So I made sure I found that very outfit, stood by it & had someone take my picture. A little momento I'll treasure always!

This song is a medley of three uniquely American pieces: “Dixie,” (dixie means the states down south in the U.S.); “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a marching hymn of the Union Army during the American Civil War; and “All My Trials,” a Bahamian lullaby related to African American spirituals sung by protesting folksingers of the 1950s. Elvis exuded extreme emotion in every song he did whether slow or upbeat -- the emotion came from is soul & his gut; i don't know of any other singer/singing artist who made you feel such emotion as Elvis did -- it was real, not "put on" or forced; his voice was very strong, manly & powerful, power without yelling; & all he needed was himself & his marvelous backup singers & musicians -- no fancy stuff on stage like laser lights, smoke. Thank you so much.
