Have you tried silicone spatulas to put the paint in the bowl? (the paint that is left in the glass after you transfer most of it) I use them when I bake certain cakes and its awesome how they scrap all the dough, they leave the bowls completely clean
Hey! :) Yes, I tried a couple of different silicone spatulas but they were always too grippy when sliding down the glass slab, so I went back to metal spatulas for ease of use. Maybe I should look at some more options :O
Where did you learn to make watercolours and what's needed for the binder to work?
I simply did regular style research: I paid for watercolour making classes, watched YT videos, twitch streams, read books and forums about the topic :) I spent a lot of time trying to find any info available
a super basic watercolour binder has a couple of ingredients: the paint binder itself dissolved in water, some sort of humectant and a preservative.

This is so relaxing, thank you! 😌 May I ask if it would be possible to leave the subtitles on a little longer next time? I couldn’t read them fast enough and had to keep pausing the video, but it could be just me 😅 Also, I’m curious: how do you keep the paint from drying out in the syringe while you wait to add another layer to the pan after each drying step?
Sure thing, I can make the subtitles last for longer for sure! :)
I simply put some blu tack/putty on the nozzle of the syringe to keep it air tight, that way the paint cannot dry out :)
I think id like making my own custom colors. I also wanted to try mulling lol its so mesmerizing

I stopped watching your channel after you stopped posting videos on your doll customization which was years ago. I was watching other channels that specialize in OOAK dolls and then I remembered of you. You were one of the first channels I have seen on RUclips to do OOAK using Monster High dolls. I honestly believe you pioneered the whole thing to what it is today, a community. But it’s sad to see you not posting anything about customizing dolls on RUclips anymore when this whole genre is taking off on this platform. Don’t get me wrong, if you have irl problems then it’s okay to take time off or even quit RUclips but honestly I thought your channel would be at the top of all the other doll customization channels by now.
Oh my goal was never to be at the top of ooak YT channels, I was just doing what made me happy, and I am continuing doing so by learning new things and diving into other hobbies :) Life would be too boring to me if I had to stick to the same hobbies for decades, especially considering I work for a toy company and work on new doll lines 9-5

@@NicollesDreamsShop I don't have any experience making paints, but I do remember working a mulling machine for creams at a compounding pharmacy. I wonder if there is something equivalent for homemade paints!
Ah, I was racking my brain for the name of it, and I found it! It's called an ointment mill!
Oh yeah, I looked into those but last time I checked they cost between $5000 and $7000 T____T
@@NicollesDreamsShop yeah, sadly medical equipment is so expensive >< Who knows? Maybe you'll get lucky some day and happen across a used one :)
Do you ever switch the hand you do this with? I feel like my arm would fall off doing such steady movements for so long haha.
It is pretty much like trying to brush your teeth with your other hand... surprisingly difficult hahahaha :D

seems like the way you were scooping it into the bowl would create a lot of air bubbles that you worked so hard to get rid of. cant you maybe pour it from the glass slab into the bowl instead?
I tried that but I still have to scoop the paint together to be able to pour it from one corner, and scoop some more at the very end since the paint sticks onto the glass slab

I took it as a mark of turning volume off and intense the focus on visual pleasure, the other sense that RUclips offers us to use.
