    And at 36 he doesn’t look like slowing down. In fact he still moves like as if he was in his 20s. He really takes care of his body. Curry’s longevity is crazy

      @cnaizhen День назад

      He is definitely slowing down and becoming inconsistent. His performance was lackluster in the second half of last season, and most of the Olympics until the final 2 games.
      Objectively, while still effective, he is no longer the consistent baller that lands 3 pointers while being double teamed every night.

    Aside from size and strength, injury bugs were there. If there's anyone you can credit for who Steph is today, its his trainer who strengthened and revived his degenerating ankles.

    Failed to mention that Steph finished a close second to Tyreke Evans for Rookie of the Year. It's actually kinda sad what happened to Reke. Started off really great but hardly remembered now.

      Tyreke was once in a class of 3 rookies to avg 20-5-5 in their rookie years: Tyreke Evans, Michael Jordan and Lebron James...

    And we can’t forget that that Ellis trade to the bucks was supposed to be curry. But the office there said he was too fragile with his ankle injuries and instead traded for Ellis.

    I noticed a small detail about the chart you showed at 6:02. Was that the standings from last season? Memphis actually had a worse record than what was shown. Lol! Anyway, great content. As a big Blake Griffin fan, especially during the Lob City era, I really enjoyed it. No one could have predicted Steph Curry's incredible rise back then, especially in 2014 when the Clippers defeated the Warriors in the first round. The following year, though, Steph's breakout completely changed the game. His playmaking skills are so underrated and was outshined by his legendary shooting skills.

    • @Shakester71
      @Shakester71 Месяц назад

      Well, they needed a point guard. Rubio was 18 at the time of the draft and the plan was to keep him in Spain for at least 1 more season to avoid them having to pay $8M to buy him out of his current team. They figured to draft Flynn as well then when Rubio gets there, to trade Flynn. But to be fair to Flynn, he looked good during his rookie year, but needed hip surgery the following year and that affected his athleticism and his decline began.

    Not everyone who lights it up in the NCAA, translates to the NBA. Adam Morrison, Jimmer Ferdertte, there are others.
    It's easy to talk about why he should have been drafted higher, with hindsight. But at the time, yeah even I doubt you were like he should go number 1.

    On one hand you're saying that Dteph Curry"s shooting has brought up a whole new variety of future basketball stars and on the other hand you're saying that kids are now lobbing balls from as far of a distance as they possibly can trying to Imitate Stephen Currrys shot, keep in mind with no skill or any care for proper basketball fundamentals. How is that any good for the game? ... old school basketball was much easier to watch and way more enjoyable since it held people's attention to the game better than this new ago of basketball. Just my opinion

    • @welsonma3911
      @welsonma3911 Месяц назад +1

      Steph gets the least foul calls out of any NBA superstar because he doesn't abuse your so called "soft" NBA rules. He's also gotten a lot stronger over the past decade and his ankle problem doesn't bother him anymore.

    • @GWrench9
      @GWrench9 Месяц назад

      @@welsonma3911 RUclips will probably block the link but cbssports did a good article on this. Warriors were second worse in attacking the basket.....you get foul calls when you drive in. Also, 83% of his shots are recorded as open or wide open......that's due to screens. The soft rules come with not allowing hand checking. Go look at how many non shooting vs shooting fouls. People need to stop being a fanboy for him (or any player) and look at the stats without being biased.

    • @welsonma3911
      @welsonma3911 Месяц назад

      @@GWrench9 Nah Curry is one of the best PG rim finishers this decade along with other greats like kyrie. He doesn't drive as much now cause he's older and has younger teammates to do that, but he's got a crazy core and can finger roll floaters while falling down lmao. Even back in 2014-2018, when he was driving much more to the rim, he never got many foul calls cause he plays a cleaner no contact type of ball.
      Idk if you've noticed, but steph isn't small anymore. He used to be weak and was more of a liability on defense, but he's way stronger now than he was a decade ago.
      He's also the least open man on any court. Constantly doubled if he has the ball. Permanent defender without the ball. When he does get the ball, he has to either iso a hard contested stepback 3, or he has inches to shoot off a pass. He's one of the only players in the league that is often top guarded. Fastest and most accurate release in the NBA right now so it makes sense.
      In hindsight, steph should've been no.1 or no.2 in the draft. You can compare his career to anyone in his draft class and it's not even close lmao.
