- Mortal Kombat 2 Plus IS the arcade game, this is NOT a Mugen, this is the original arcade game with bonus features included. Watch as I quickly go through dip switch settings and modify the game a little bit, and see how the game reacts under these options. This is NOT a full play through.

I have the Mortal Kombat II deluxe cabinet by Tastemakers/Arcade1up and I didn't build it yet, I have several other Arcade1up cabinets built. And I had the MKII deluxe for about a year. I just have the parts in my room where the other cabinets are. It has MK 1, 2, 3, Ultimate 3 and 10 other Atari and Midway games from mostly the 80's. Like Paperboy, Root Beer Tapper and Toobin'. It's 5 feet tall, but narrower than a real arcade cabinet.
My channel started out with me playing on my MK2 Legacy cab, every Wednesday I do live streams where I play against people on my MK30th Anniversary cab, (monitor swapped out), there’s always a lot of people joining in and playing, get your cab built and let’s play sometime 👊🏼
Watching your videos is always a relaxing way to wind down without actually having to play MK.

The AI is cheap. Can you adjust the difficulty? I have MKII on PS2 and an unbuilt Arcade1up deluxe cabinet released last year.
The kids are in bed, my wife is asleep, and I'm standing at my kitchen island watching Darryl play and eating yogurt. Life is just right.

7:57 - I always loved how even though the death animation in this fatality was so unique to Kung Lao, they still made the effort to make the halves of the body realistically slightly wobble as they split and fell

Right up there with “Scorpion’s animality is not a scorpion,” has always been “Baraka’s friendship is not cutting out paper dolls” (especially since Sheeva gets scorpion and Jax gets paper dolls).
I always thought it would have been totally bad ass if Baraka didn't have the friendship option. Because, well, he looks totally bad ass.

Nice I'll try this. Seems to look a little sharper and with little details in the stages. Mk2 has been my favourite since it came out.
You won’t regret it. And even if you keep it exact Arcade with zero enhancements, it’s STILL amazing lol 👊🏼

I will never not love the additional animations from the arcade version vs the console ports.
This was great as always. Love your content! Was there a scan line filter on? Looked so good that my Pixel Fold looked like a CRT!
Thanks Hobbs, I think the scan line filter is automatic on this version, I never tinkered with the settings in regards to visual appearance on this. I appreciate the comment 👊🏼

Extra moves are stuff that some characters got from later games like Baraka's spin attack from MKT, Scorpion's forward teleport punch from MKT and the bosses have at least one Fatality, the new AI is a good idea to get used because IT'S needed to unlock both Kintaro and Shao Kahn in Survival Mode once you have unlocked Jade, Noob and Smoke (Smoke being the harder one to unlock due to the RNG hell that is to have a flying object at the moon in Pit 2 and getting double flawless victory and Fatality on your winning round... but you CANNOT USE the Stage Fatality in that scenario and you have to win the secret character battle, Noob as long as you do the AI exploit with Jax you beat it fast, same with Jade and you can potentially unlock at least 2 of the 3 in a single arcade run... must be a 1 credit run by the way).
Edit: If you want an easy time unlocking both Jade and Noob, is a good idea to use Jax, and have the difficulty on ULTIMATE, that way from the get-go you can use the AI exploits with the original AI behavior, you have to beat the game in around 11 minutes or less to unlock Noob, for Jade just defeat her when you have disabled the randomized ladders.

Sub-Zero's moves looked 🆒 in this version.
Hard as hell, the improved AI is a cool option but my goodness it’s hard lol
Funny you say that since he was literally using Sub-Zero's stance just like MK1
Spamming jumping back in the corner does work on the improved ai once you figure out combos and timing.

I've been playing it for a few weeks, but I still find the AI difficult even with the improvement, even in very easy mode after the 3-5th match the AI becomes a demon, it's frustrating lol
it looks like when the opponents freeze and start floating is to possibly set up juggles maybe?

You just scroll to the last menu where it says exit dude, you must be looking somewhere else.

with kung lao in this version you can cut off either the head or torso with the hat throw.

Since having this version for years now, I tried the improved AI one time, never played it like that since. Turbo Mode is pretty cool but only did it one time. It's fun to switch it up once in a blue moon.

First for turbo for myself and I won’t go back to that. I will however try the improved AI again as I can kinda see patterns happening I just need to really get them and practice. Thanks for the comment. Gotta check out the options on UMK3 Plus as well. 👊🏼

Hello. Newbie to these mugen games. How do you get these games? What are you playing them on? Can you get them onto raspberry pie or the mini console machines? 🤷
My questions precisely.
Mugens are a quick download and extraction and they are all free. Theres people on RUclips who post links to them in their video descriptions, Headlocked gaming is one person
In particular. The game in THIS video however is on the Fightcade platform, which again is a fairly easy install, I recommend doing a google search for it.

I have this on my Miyoo Mini. You might also like MK+ it's very similar to your previous video with Reptile available and also UMK3+
when playing as Jax, connect with a jump kick and while you and opponent are in the air, do the backbreaker move for a good combo.
This is Kool but I would lovero have the mk2 remix version. It looks dope, combos different voice for each character and also state design
Mugen has a very good one already with new moves and fatalities
I always felt like they added a bunch of goofy sound effects for mk2 that were never in mk1, the sweep fall being one of them, kinda takes you out of the gruesome nature of the game
People say Toasty ruined the dark vibe also but I loved the quirky little moments of humour added. Thanks for the comment 👊🏼
By the way the fighter select screen reminds me of Killer Instinct and clicking on SPINAL!
