- 360ºsessions ist eine zehnteilige Musik-Dokumentationsserie. In jeder Episode stellt sich eine Band vor, gibt Einblick in ihr Leben, erzählt anhand von ganz persönlichen Video- Diaries, was sie inspiriert und bewegt. Die Bands gestalten selbst ihre Episode, so stehen sehr persönliche Geschichten und Anekdoten der Künstler im Zentrum. Und natürlich spielen sie auch jeweils einige ihrer Songs. In dieser Folge stellt sich die walisische Alternative Rock-Band Lostprophets vor, sie wurde durch Auftritte auf wichtigen Musikfestivals bekannt. Ihr drittes Album "Liberation Transmission" (2006) kletterte an die Spitze der UK-Charts.

"Rooftops" is probably the greatest British Rock Anthem ever written but apart from the amazing pitch perfect Studio version l can find no good live versions, from Pink pop to Glastonbury in the early noughties,lan ruins the vocals,even the very earliest performances from 2004 onwards, every single live version,sometimes in front of 100,000+ people on YT lan just cannot Sing it like the Studio version or even come close! The man could not sing unless bolstered by the tools of the Studio. I will never know why they did'nt just replace him and carry on,l mean he was'nt exactly an incredible Singer to begin with, like,say Bruce Dickenson,speaking of Iron Maiden,their first Singer,Paul D'ianno could'nt really sing either,he was replaced after two albums and a very average Pub Rock Band was transformed into the biggest Metal Band in the World,because of it's incredible Singer who Simply became and then WAS Iron Maiden. I think,sadly that LP made a massive Mistake,Genesis,Marillion,two other Bands that also lost Integral "irreplaceable" Singers early in their Careers but who they discovered were not only very replaceable but the new Singers made their respective Bands even better. LP should reform,play Club dates,they have an older (and wealthier) fan base now who would happily pay big bucks to see them,Get a lookalike Singer but one with a strong voice who can also do the nasal vox of lan on que. A Nostalgia tour would clean up!
Fair point. Perhaps the difference with LP compared to the bands you mentioned is the way it ended. It was bizarrely twisted and awful. It may just be too toxic.
Don't throw a real band like Iron Maiden into the same wing as this clown. Though that aside you're absolutely right. Off key, harsh, and awful singing. They only made one interesting album and that's the debut. Jamie was the true soul of this band.

The London 2006 performance is really strong-also the words “heart out” in the chorus are harmonized, specifically with high belting (in the A4-D5 range) and possibly even higher falsetto (E5-G5 range) layered on top of the F#4-G4 (repetitions 1 and 3) and F#4-D4-E4 (repetition 2 of choruses 1 and 3, repetitions 2 and 4 of chorus 2). Watkins WAS truly gifted as a singer, which makes his descent into depravity from 2008-12 truly heartbreaking.

It’s technically in key (G# minor), and I think the intent was to rework the song for acoustic…Given that acoustic doesn’t really lend itself to the high belting of the original, it makes sense to switch the high belted notes to falsetto-and because falsetto isn’t as impressive (from a range perspective) as belting unless it is 3-7 semitones higher, it follows that some liberties need to be taken. Actually I wish more music artists would take liberties with songs when performing live, especially doing things like adlibbing high falsetto in certain parts of a song, singing along with synths or guitar leads, replacing high belting with even higher (but still in key) falsetto (especially on acoustic versions of songs), etc.
