    When you take off the coolant lines, did you drain the coolant first? I’m an intern at a Freightliner place. And the tech say you usually don’t get enough time to drain it so you got to be quick on the coolant lines and put them on the new pump while it is pissing coolant

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  7 месяцев назад +1

      Great question, if you looking to save time the best thing to do is get a vacuum pump and attach it to the coolant reservoir. Instead of doing a coolant system pressure test it will be doing a vacuum and hold most of the coolant in place. As long as ur quick there won’t be much spilt.

      Adf is a company that makes diesel parts for these trucks. I think you mean ADS priming ,which is a routine in diagnostic link that primes your aftertreatment def system. It’s makes it so there no air in the system and filled your pump bladder with def so no issues occurs. It’s also useful to find leaks in the system. Hope that helps.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  3 года назад

      Good question. The bladder doesn’t get filled properly and won’t have a full life span. So it comes down to not running at its best and pre mature failure of the def pump.

    What are the symptoms that this pump needs to be changed? Can you just slap that pump on and go about your business, do you really need diagnostics?

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 года назад

      The symptoms you’ll have is just a check engine light really , that or you’ll take a look at it and see it leaking from the vents otherwise you’ll never know. You can just put one on but that will not get rid of a cel or derate.
