    Great video I just replaced the rear wheel bearings on my 97 RM125 I followed along step by step the only difference is I had 2 snap rings instead of a retainer nut. I also like that its not 20 minutes long its just what you need to know and that's perfect

    Can you do this without using heat?

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  Год назад

      No, the bearings are an interference fit, so the bearing needs to be smaller than the hub or the hub bigger than the bearing when removing/installing.

    I do have some feed back that would be helpful in your future videos. Your verbal explanations and written step by step are spot on but you could deffly show more video to what you are doing in each step. For us visual learning types, when you fast forward the visual just isnt there. Not trying to hate on your video just wanted to give some feed back that I had after watching it. Like I'm still confused on how to beat out the bearings. If you use a socket that is the size of the bearing to beat out the bearings and there are bearings on both sides of the hub, how will the socket fit through the side that has 2 bearings in the way to beat out the single side bearing?

  • @saulchavez4242

    just got a new wheel and the bearings inside don't fit my old rear axle that I have, and I was thinking that I could buy a new axle that fits my new wheel but if I buy that then I think their would be too much play when I put it threw the swing arms since I need a tiny bit smaller axle, so I don't know if I should change out the bearings inside the new wheel to fit the axle.

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  6 лет назад

      Don't change the axle size. If you can find a bearing set that fits the inside diameter of the hub and outside diameter of your stock axle, that's the way to go. You might have to do some extra work to find the exact size bearings, but I'm sure you can email manufacturers your dimensions and find bearings that work.

    Hey man. I got a 2008 kx250f. And I’m looking for the bearing tool. And I have no idea what to look for, idk if there is a specific one. Can you help

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  4 года назад +1

      Your bike has a snap ring, so you don't need a bearing retainer tool. All you need are snap ring pliers and you're good to go!

    I have a question: is it normal to have a left and right gap between the swingarm and the wheel hub, spacers, bracket?

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  4 года назад +1

      No, there should be no spaces. Does your wheel slide side to side on the axle?

    • @ti-pitbouchard9921
      @ti-pitbouchard9921 4 года назад +1

      Yes I changed my bearing/seals and spacers and I got side to side play. I have to say that my hub was loose on the double bearing side so I punched some little holes in the hole to make my bearings grip as a temporaly solution. With my side to side play, I will add washers equelly on both side. Wath do you think and wath do you suggest me for when I will have to fix it the right way?
      Sorry for my english im french canadian

    • @aaroncummings59
      @aaroncummings59 4 года назад +1

      @@Fixyourdirtbike unless you're throwing hand grenades in the horseshoe pit. Or throwing horseshoes at the machine gun nest. They're drastically different things.
      *shrug* the whole point of not applying heat to the bearing is to limit how much you expand the BEARING in relation to the HUB. You want the hub to expand and not the bearing.
      But you were applying DIRECT to the bearing moreso than the hub. Counterproductive.
