Can’t wait to see the contract for Elliot where he’s on 80k a week, 50k bonus per game played, a Ferrari for every goal and Jacks first born son if we avoid relegation
By Removing the "Match the highest Earner clause" you just piss him off into asking what he actually wants. Negotiating it out of the contract at a later date, would be easier than undercutting him so severely without a potential bonus (that he wouldn't get anytime soon).
i rate this transfer window C. not getting Elliot after all that hurts. plus defense didn't improve that much. promising to sell Sheldon was super risky also
I feel like it's worse than that. 17m for a player that needs positional training to be useful at all is bad, should've gone for the Everton CB instead of the striker since he signed Lankshear for 20m which was way too expensive and I'm still very lukewarm on that LB that is worse than Wallace. Maybe I'm too harsh but to have spent 40m on a widely unchanged squad, that's just not very good. Only good signing was Rolke which is funny cause defence was the area Jack wanted to improve the most
E . I've watched so many of these and have always enjoyed them....today was a watch from between your fingers horror show! Refusing to get the Elliott deal done for a matter of a couple of million in wages and a release clause that would have made you a 100% profit plus would have allowed you you to see if Hutch was any good as a regista with Flood holding down the defensive midfield. Then looking at a team who were riding high in the goals scored chart playing on cautious but were shipping goals concluding that blowing the transfer budget (and many time Elliots demanded wages) on signing Lanks before also signing a loan striker instead of a central defender who would have been a value option.
Personally I sign players like Elliot instantly (even with high wages) knowing you can easily sell them on next season for 15-20m+, if not more depending on how he's performing. I don't think finances will be a problem with so many players with high value. Worst case you would sell someone like Sheldon for 35m~ or more and be good again.
Feeling a cool 12th place this season. Wallace will be a revelation. Having 2 HGC wing-backs starting in the PL is a nice storyline. Edit: Masterful clickbait with the title LMAO
Calling Nwaneri a punt for 18m but signing Lankshear for 20m is kinda crazy to me. Nwaneri wages were an issue but he had guaranteed potential if he played.
One is injury prone and hates important matches, the other is better developed already with wage demands almost 3x lower. Nuking my wage budget for a player who could be out for extended period is just a risk I'm not willing to take. Nwaneri has potential but at 23 now he's far from guaranteed to reach it
You are judging by IRL situation (Nwaneri). Look at his profile in the game - hates important matches, injury prone, immense wage demands, badly developed in the age of the 23 - he won’t develop by a ton anymore.
@@olkosnajak9913 Completely agree, in FM24 he’s a very hit or miss player. I’ve seen careers where he is world class and I’ve also bought him for £50m and he’s only ever developed into a decent PL player
Spoiler Alert Should’ve just got the Harvey Elliott signing done earlier. With the low amount of good players you’ll have access to at your level, you need to take the risks on every great player that wants to sign for you.
Yeah I kind of thought that too as he is a level above everyone jack has looked at. A backup CB wanted the same wage as an example which show his demands aren't even unreasonable
C+ for me this transfer window. Elliott couldve been a transformative player, good Prem quality and reputation would have helped sign more quality players, and as an individual he'd improve your team a lot. The rest of the squad at least hasn't got worse but it hasn't improved much. Rating is improved as it is a young team which should be improved due to growth alone.
Just realised I’ve never left a comment on this channel to say how much I love the videos. Been watching you since your Lyon live save and five+ years later I still find myself checking everyday to see whether you’ve posted a video. Keep up the good work man!
I don’t know why you don’t sign Elliot for 60K with a match highest earner clause, are you really planning on nuking the wage structure over the next couple years?
also I don't understand what would be the problem in getting harvey what he asks , 72k + 40 ml release + highest earner that is not going to be a issue for 2\3 years... than you renegociate or sell ... if someone comes with 42 ml you end up with 34 ... it's still a deal. I'd potentally prefere it to what you actually offered personally🤔
It's going to be an issue the very next month when the other key players in the squad demand a matching contract because of the amount Elliott is on. I'd risk losing them on a free or wind up having to contract another 4-5 players on $50k+ p/w
@@WorkTheSpace imho the only player you should worry about loosing is the striker (i'm bad with names sorry :p ) which has +4 year contract . more than anything you need a rep. boost and you get that with the combo of securing a decent place in the prem + signing players like harvey . I understand where you're coming from , I guess in FM i'm bit more of a gambler than you are in certain occasions :)
No idea why you keep removing match highest earner for Elliott, surely he deserves it and you probably could have gotten him for 60 or even under 60k a week.
Giving this Transfer Window a B-. It was a tough situation with your team's low reputation. You got some decent squad players in, but unless Lankshear tears up the league it doesn't look like the quality has improved all that much. Holding onto Sheldon is massive. Could've gone for match-highest earner for Elliot since it's unlikely any of your other players are going to come close (unless it causes other interactions in-game I don't know about). Looking forward to the new season!
Its a double edged sword Agents. Zealand did an experiment on this. If you speak to an agent and they say the player wants 10k to 15k p/w. They will never go lower than 10k in negotiations regardless of what you do. If you DONT speak to an agent... you can through clauses get them to agree to far less than 10k.
C - A tough window given the limitations of the challenge and the club reputation. The squad hasn't improved much as a result. The main reason for the C rating is the handling of the Harvey Elliott negotiation. A player of his calibre at the stage the club is at would've massively improved the squad & club reputation. But by removing the match highest earner clause (which he would've been substantially the highest by around £30k p/w) it effectively blew up negotiations every time. Allowing crystal palace to sweep in and pick him up with their much better club reputation unfortunately. Enjoying the series though Jack
Miller signing only makes sense if you play him LWB imo. Wallace isn't as good as the star ratings make him out to be, and you mentioned that you'll probably move on from Hutchinson LWB in the future due to his defensive issues, which I agree with. 17.5 mil is way too much to spend on a player who isn't objectively better than and exists solely to compete with Ejaria.
One of the hardcore, loving this series it is nice to see you challenged more, rather than just blasting through the leagues. More realistic as well. Transfer business grade B. Harvey could of been the difference but I can understand why you did not like the match the highest earner clause.
C- I think context is key; Elliot would have been a B+ but it's tricky with your reputation and English players only. I'm in a save with FC United where we've been promoted every year first time of asking (except one additional season in the championship and were now in the Prem but my reputation is that of some conference premiership teams and league 2 teams so it's impossible at times.
Wasn’t sure what to expect with a second park to prem on a game but I must say Jack this series has been fantastic, hoping for many more episodes and many more videos from the FM G.O.A.T🐐
Honestly as a long time viewer here- this is the first video where i am left disappointed and let down, signing lanksheer for 20 when you could have had Andy for 15, not giving Harvey a match highest earner clause when no one in the near future will have better wages and signing a below average rwb for 17 m, I wish for redemption next time
Jarkko Tuomisto is indeed a Finish name. Tuomi is a type of tree. According to the google translator it means Brid Cherry and Tuomisto is a group of such trees. Pretty good pronunciation on his first name.
B- A good effort, feel like your club reputation is hindering you at the moment. Assuming Sheldon keeps banging them in, you should avoid relegation this season but I don’t think your top half quality yet
C overall. The overpays kinda were what they were - its a save where you have lower rep and a limited pool of options to sign. Risk that second season syndrome means opponents play stronger line ups, but hopefully there are enough goals up front. Cautious mentality feels like the way again. Any other notable free agents that haven't been interested, but may change their mind closer to deadline day?
Sheldon will only be an issue if he is influential in the dressing room if you basically have what you had last year since it was so close and if he stops scoring it could be trouble. I agree its a rough place but in january you may have to reconsider and invest for the championship also jack save that man united loan until deadline day where they will practically give him away if he doesnt hav a move
I think you might be Evertons new feeder club, I think it would be good if it could be like LMA Manager contract negotiations offer them a house and car and they sign for you, I loved that, a pity you missed out on Elliott
Enjoying the series more than any other, games to easy of you're allowed to sign whoever from wherever, especially as the game progresses as we all know the AI is awful at squad building/signing up good youth prospects

Not sure if anyone noticed, but Sheldon already has better attributes than Sam Fahey at Rugby did.
Knowing you could have just nuked the wages last year and had Andy White for 15 mil but instead signed Lankshear for 20 mil this year... ouch
Elliot could have a match highest earner considering no player in a WTS team is ever going to earn that money again
