I just want to hire Darryl to follow me around and hype me up for everything in my life. He won’t even have to change his lines. Getting ready for a first date? “It’s… KARATE TIME!” Filing my taxes? “It’s… KARATE TIME!” Rewatching Karate Kid? “It’s… KARATE TIME!”
Carrie Underwood is actually a huge fan of Cobra Kai and the Karate Kid so they got her to cameo on the show. The song she is performing is Moment of Truth by Survivor which is a song that was on the original Karate Kid soundtrack.
Doesn't the song also plau during a training montage? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, or I remember the music video had clips of Karate Kid in it ( or both).
I think Johnny's reaction to Sam was about her being his student. He was so proud of Sam for jumping from the roof, and obviously there was some bonding with their training session together. He's just super proud of her, just like Daniel is proud of Miguel.
Shue said they were more like each other than they'd care to admit. Both are stubborn. And both simply want what's best for their students. I understand Daniel's resentment towards training Sam. But Miguel and Johnny ho back since the beginning. And Miguel was Johnny's way of correcting some of his mistakes. So I completely understand Johnny here. Johnny didn't take Sam under his wing like Daniel did with Miguel.
Eli: ...without my mohawk... Moon: Are you Eli god of Mohawks? That Mohawk was to help you control your power; to focus it. It was never your source of strength. :)
What Daniel told Robby, "When you put passion above principle, you lose," reminds me of the Biblical concept of, "You gain the world, but lose your soul."
Fun Fact: Carrie watched Cobra Kai for the first time during lockdown and tweeted about how much she loved it and the producers and actors tweeted her back that’s how they got in contact with her to be on the show! ❤️
This Robby scene gave me a very strong Evil Ryu vibe from Street Fighter, where Ryu is so obsessed with combat that he loses his sense of morality and beats up his opponent without thinking about the consequences.
@@jaimeruiz7837 They ideology of Cobra Kai is all about winning and No Mercy, you are taught how to win and only to win. So it makes sense that Cobra Kai students are bad/sore losers, because they were never taught how to take and learn from loss. I agree he wasnt mad at Robbie, just mad at himself for being weak.
@@Shaye.J right, eric is a bit annoying. and they all perceive things wrong.. same way as none of them caught on that daniel was going to kill kreese and not honk his nose.
The song Carrie Underwood sang was in the final scene of the Karate Kid that continued to the end credits. That song was written for the movie. Also, Locust Valley is the name of the Dojo of Daryl Vidal from the first movie. The other good fighter that faced Johnny in the semi-finals. All Star Karate is the name of the dojo owned by the kid that plays Bert's family. He's an actual black belt, as is Nate.
I find it interesting that Sam referred to Hawk as "Hawk" instead of "Eli", while Miguel referred to him as both "Eli" and "Hawk" depending on who he's talking to. Maybe Sam wanted to sound more aggressive in a way. Idk.
My only complaint of this season is we rarely saw Daniel and Hawk work together. I think that was a real missed opportunity. Especially since Hawk does legitimately respect Daniel as a mentor. Would have been nice to see a few scenes of Daniel training Hawk and Hawk embracing some of Miyagi-Do
I think it can argued that Miguel was showing RESPECT to Eli by bring out the “finisher move” with the spinning kick. Basically saying, you’re so good that I need to go to my strongest move in order to win. Makes way more sense than showing off or showing up your opponent. Secondly, I heard that Carried Underwood is a fan of the show and so she reached out or the other way around and she was invited to be on an episode. It’s no different that when Whoopi Goldberg, who was a big Star Trek fan, suddenly was on The Next Generation. Btw, I think(?) the song she sang was a song from the original movie. I could be wrong.
6:08 Yes i think she was referring to her being on American Idol by that. It also reminded me of her own song The Champion which also would have been appropriate for the tournament or how much Carrie loves fitness and sports.
Miguel yelling “Sensei,” reaffirming his love for Johnny, after everything that’s happened this season, like a wounded soldier calling for his mother, made me cry the first time i saw this. May have also had to do with it being like 3 am, but dang that still hits hard.
But the reason I like that line so much is because, throughout all of Season 4, has been calling Johnny AND Daniel 'Sensie', so when he screamed "SENSIE", he didn't know who he was calling for, really emphasizing the fact that he was lost and was struggling to know who he was.
Well, they already finished season 5 filming so the chance of you guys appearing as a part of the audience is very slim 😛 But hopefully there will be a Cobra Kai movie or another season, and you can apply as extras.
Carrie Underwood was bring to the show because during the isolation she posted on Twitter how much she loved the show and the producers ask her to make an appearance on the show
Daniel was at his most annoyance this episode. Sam didn't cheat, didn't fight dirty so gtfo with the "you didn't win the right way" bs. Been on a damn high horse this season.
@@azrael_pendragon I mean..i barely know artist and He has been one of those considered mainstream for...years. she does a lot more than just sing, American idol if I'm not mistaken.
I feel like Kyler was kind of nerfed. He's definitely not stronger than Hawk, but I was expecting more of a fight honestly. But he did smash his own head on a layer of concretes before he fought his matches, so maybe that did something.
Kyler's never really been much of a threat though. Miguel beat him last season even though he'd just relearned how to walk. Robbie took him and another Cobra Kai on at the same time. Off the top of my head I don't recall him ever winning a fight (unless you count the 5 on 1 fight against Miguel in season 1).
@@AkumaGekido ok. So since training at Cobra Kai he hasn't improved much if not at all? Even Piper who has just joined Cobra Kai was able to land a hit on Sam. Has Kyler been skipping classes?
I think part of it also has to do with some of his arrogance to an extent. He tries to put hawk down and taunts Miguel last season, but, it gets the best of him
@@evansphenomenal you can easily argue that she had an advantage by knowing her defensive Myagi style, but after she got her Fangs out she was dropped as easily as Kyler, while Hawk is probably better in both Cobra Kai and Myagi Do compared to Kyler.
Darryl got way too excited and totally forgot like 5 dojos 😅… in fairness, if Cobra Kai, Eagle Fang, and Miyagi Do are the best, the rest of the valley dojos are totally stealing parents’ money Also, Cobra Kai was the best dojo this year because of 2 senseis: Robbie and Terry… Kreese wasn’t much of a sensei or trainer this season
Great reaction, this & next ep are the best of the series. I think just this episodes tournament was as good or better than season 1's tournament ending. I do wonder why y'all believe Eli isn't Hawk anymore? Hawk isn't just some fake front he put up. The bullying might have been somewhat a front but not the overall Hawk stuff. He was still very cool with his homies. When Miguel "finished" him during the forest fight in season 2 the next episode he was totally cool with Miguel & not mad at all. He visits Miguel in the hospital & hangs with his people a lot. He was even sticking with Demetri until the Yelp review shit. He learned how to fight & stand up for himself & used what Johnny taught him to better himself & feel more confident. That's not a front, or a fake mask or persona. I don't even think it's right to call the bullying a front since he started doing it so consistently to certain people from the end of season 1 onward til the end of 3. You don't do something that long, that consistently & that enthusiastically without really meaning it to some extent. Anyway, I just don't think it's right to say he isn't Hawk anymore. He specifically avoided saying who he was when asked this episode & during the ep where he returned to Daniel's Dojo, when asked if he was Eli or Hawk he said it doesn't matter. I think he's still Hawk, it's just a more toned down & less angry Hawk. Loved the video, can not WAIT to see the reaction to the finale. Y'all have been my favorite reactors to this series (y'all are typically my favorite in general lol) so it's been a fun ride. Hyped for season 5. Much love from a Fan who wishes had the $$$ to pay for patreon lol.
I was listening to an interview with the actor that plays Kyler and he said that he told someone that he wanted to break the concrete with his head but they told him the producers wouldn't approve and he did it without getting approval first so it surprised everyone.
He was having doubts with the whole Sam thing and Johnny saying “Robby” instead of Miguel but I said the same thing while watching it with my family. I said Miguel would win and be a 2 time champion like Johnny 😊
@@willg8414 Robby was unbalanced too so it would have been even in the finals. I'm not sure Eli has enough skill to take on Miguel yet even with the mental advantage.

nah, Robby stopped taking it easy and went as hard as he would if it were any other competitor. He stopped smiling and went serious mode, I didn't see what he did as extra or going overboard or anything. He simply didn't hold back like he was when Kenny got his one strike in. Aaron really wanted Kenny to have a chance but he had absolutely no chance at all, the only reason he got that strike in was because Robby was treating him softly. When Robby was "toying" with Kenny doing the come at me gesture, that wasn't Robby mocking him. Robby was baiting Kenny into charging at him, leaving Kenny exposed so that Robby could land his kick. I think Aaron is letting his favoritism for Kenny bias his view on this one.
Yeah Aaron is the one being Biased. 🤣Robby did not have to kick Kenny in the face like that. Yes Robby was toying with Kenny I mean he kicked dude in the ass 😂and slowly turned around and then decked his face. Its okay to say Robby was wrong damn. He could of beat Kenny without doing it that way. Let Robby be a beast just like Hawk was its okay. This is Robby Cobra Kai season he didn't get as bad as Hawk and the others but he is Cobra Kai so he is expected to mess up and be a Beast which he was. All the kids have crossed the dark side Robby is not the exception even Sam has turned a little.
Yeah Eli. Find that inner Hawk!! It may have been editing , but these actors seem to have done some serious training as some of these moves were simply really well executed. I think we all knew Eagle Fang wld lose so it has to close and now I’m thinking Miyago Do may too and next season they combine into something new. Hawk v Robbie in final w Robby (and Tori) winning 31:30- spot on Eric. Daniel is totally a self righteous prick and that is what he continues to not realize
I mostly get irritated at folks talking about Daniel being stubborn and ignoring Johnny being the most stubborn of all. Daniel gives the best advice and doesn't follow his own at times, but that is tied to the character if folks remember the KK movies, he often put passion over principle. Yeah, Robbie should go hard, it is out of respect, it shows Robby is light years ahead of Kenny, and yeah it's hard, but if Kenny wants to get better he needs that REAL experience.
I feel like I’m the only wave rider that has ever not been completely enamored by Eli and was clearly rooting for Miguel here. This community is really strongly in Hawk’s camp, but while his character arc can be seen as interesting, there’s a disconnect to a lot of what he goes through for me. Whether it’s the acting or the hurried pace of his character turning aggressively douche to Miyagi Do’a Luke Skywalker, it’s hard to say. But Miguel never had that disconnect for me, even if his paralysis was short lived. So when that ending hit this episode, I was both sad and annoyed because clearly the writers didn’t want a Robby and Miguel showdown again, and this was their way of subverting those expectations and bringing up a strong fan favorite despite his redemption being rushed.
The original karate kid inspired alot of people to take karate. Maybe the sudden increase in female cast is their way of reaching out for more girls to join karate in real life, if they're aiming for that.
Question, where were Daniel's principles? He put the hatred he has for cobra kai and the passion in winning over his principles. His advice was taken away by the devil
Not I prefer bully s1/2/3 hawk , when he beat that kid up and spat down on him that shiz was so badass. His theme and being kreeses weapon was just fun
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni Yeah, the tournament was okay but I mean like... it just focused on those 3 dojos which was cool, but eh. Expected things to go how they did, especially when they said how the fights needed to be resolved for things to hold weight in the finale. Made it all seem pointless. Then the lack of Miguel and Johnny was eh. Idk my favorite season I think is still 1.
I understand the significance of Daniel and his students wearing white....but man does the white look so inferior next to the bad ass black and red outfits.
I'm sorry but now we have to complain about the mats being too bouncy Eric? We get it you think you're the best choreographer of all time. Every reaction there's some little bit that isn't up to your standards.

Yeah, Robbie should go hard, it is out of respect, it shows Robby is light years ahead of Kenny, and yeah it's hard, but if Kenny wants to get better he needs that REAL experience.
I love the new girl in Cobra Kai. She’s so freaking great.
Devin? She's great
Remember when you had to be at least a brown belt for this tournament? Now apparently a few weeks of training and you're good to go.
You talking about Piper or Devon?
Cuz I cant tell if you're talking about the show or the dojo
4:55 careful what you wish for Eric
Cant wait for Cobra Kai S5 & I hope they make a cobra kai movie to end the franchise whenever that'll be
At least in the tai kwon do tournaments I was in, kicking to the side of the head was legal, but kicking to the front of the face wasn't.
The original karate kid inspired alot of people to take karate. Maybe the sudden increase in female cast is their way of reaching out for more girls to join karate in real life, if they're aiming for that.
Not sure about Karate but in Taekwondo tournaments you can't throw front kicks to the head and the crane kick is just a jumping front kick.
Question, where were Daniel's principles? He put the hatred he has for cobra kai and the passion in winning over his principles. His advice was taken away by the devil
kenny without plot armor was so much better
Can you guys react to a series of unfortunate events
Ken vs Ryu.
Devon her actress does Karate in real life. Oona O'Brien
Not I prefer bully s1/2/3 hawk , when he beat that kid up and spat down on him that shiz was so badass. His theme and being kreeses weapon was just fun
Not enough of Kyler getting his ass kicked.
I enjoyed the season but I expected the entire season to b the tournament arc like in Haikyuu.
I had thought that next season would've been the whole tournament and this would've been just the build up was shocked how it went down
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni Yeah, the tournament was okay but I mean like... it just focused on those 3 dojos which was cool, but eh. Expected things to go how they did, especially when they said how the fights needed to be resolved for things to hold weight in the finale. Made it all seem pointless. Then the lack of Miguel and Johnny was eh. Idk my favorite season I think is still 1.
Hawk 🐐
if only we had miyagi do learned eagle fang they could counter kobra kai using miyagi do
15:50 next one..I watch al 10 in a binch
Please do a double uploadddddd
One more episode :)
Oh yeah!
Choking on water/spit, hold your hands over your head and cough.🤷♀
They only have one more episode
When is the next episode?
Down to the final reactions 🙁
5:10 there are other people that like this, please don’t say why
I understand the significance of Daniel and his students wearing white....but man does the white look so inferior next to the bad ass black and red outfits.
I'm sorry but now we have to complain about the mats being too bouncy Eric? We get it you think you're the best choreographer of all time. Every reaction there's some little bit that isn't up to your standards.
Dang it's not a big deal lol
Oh lmao 🤣 I don't think he complained he was just stating that when people were fighting and drop to the ground the impact is reduced due to the bouncy floor.
