I think for placement purposes you should switch the house in the bookstore. It will break up the color contrast and make it seem like the house is always been there and they built around it.
Nice! I like the way it comes together. Do feel like the book shop is thin on books though. And now you’ve highlighted the tree, that’s all I can see. Looks good in your city! Thanks for sharing!
I've been going through my dark ages, so havent been following all the new modulars for a few years now. I gotta say, I'm amazed at all the new pieces and details these sets and minifigs have now. Also have to add, the newer Lego City sets are just dissapointing. They look unfinished (mostly when it comes to buildings). But these Creator sets look great!
1st view, like and comment. I really like this modular. This is way better than the corner garage. I’m not sure whether this is better than the dinner or not. Overall not my favourite modular but it is a set that needed to exist because the last time LEGO made a bookshop was in 1980. LEGO calls it teal and bricklink calls it turquoise. I prefer the bricklink names for the colours
Can’t wait to get this into my city. I do agree about the tree. Although it is beautiful, it does block the wonderful architecture of the Bookstore. I think I might change out the green landing going to the second floor....? I personally would love to see more buildings of this style. They could make the townhouse side in different colours and you could do a jellybean style of row houses, like San Francisco.
I enjoyed your video. I am about to head down to my Lego Lair to build this set. I went to the Lego store on Jan. 1 to get it. It has become a tradition to get the new modular the first day of the new year in the Cotter household. I had to finish my latest Moc before starting on this. Have a great New Year.
Perfect place next to Assembly Square. I like how the bakery meshes with the book store. Can you show us how you get the dust off your Lego City? Mine is all under plastic to keep the dust off but we can't enjoy it like this, under plastic.
I actually really like the turquoise building, really nice features, but I’m not keen on the book store half. Wish I could buy just half of the set for half the price too 😅
awesome I'm a brick builder myself and I got give you some credit the city's awesome! but when you were doing the speed build I could barely see the building. But beside that its awesome
I think that the lizard is a chameleon which is why it is the same colour as the bed sheets. The house attached to Pet Shop also has a crawl space on it. I personally think the book shop and house has a very Victorian British vibe to them, even down to having the trees on the pavements(sidewalk). I dont think it's what the designer was going for but it's definitely what I think of. I'm really fond of this set i think the colours of these two will go really nicely with the modulars I currently have (Diner, Pet Shop and Corner Garage)
Overall I like the freshness of this building but I'm having a hard time deciding whether to get this set or the Parisian restaurant. Both buildings would fit great in my city, well I'm not sure about the colour of the Parisian restaurant, but I only have space for one of the sets.
I would 100% go for the Parisian Restaurant. I have it and it’s really great! The Bookstore won’t be retiring anytime soon, so Parisian Restaurant is the best choice!
@@Fubuki43 I guess it's worth the investment. The only problem is that I was gonna get it next Christmas but now it's retiring. Don't necessarily want to spend that money right now.
@@RCmies Alright, well there will still be stores that sell the Parisian Restaurant even after its retirement. It will just be a bit more expensive than it currently is. But sometimes that's no problem.
Did you give some thought of changing Sanctum Santorum with the bookstore? The reason for it, it would give some height sitting next to Assemble Square. The bookstore I think doesn’t have enough height. Best regards
It’s a cameleon, the same pattern as the one from the explorer collectible figure so that iou can pretend it’s the same changing colors, here hidden in the bed
From the initial pictures was not keen on the tree. But in person in looks good. Great build. Only complaint is that the should of included a mouse for the basement.
I agree, it would be nice to see some more residential-type modulars, especially something that seems slightly more "practical" in design, featuring the essentials for minifig life.
geoff swan finally someone that agrees with me. I like playing with this kinds but I find the other stuff a little less exciting. I also do stop motions so I like adding residential furniture when I build a custom home or something.
To be honest, I think I know why I don't like this modular: it's the lack of texture. In pretty much every other modular in this same style, the bricks have some kind of interesting pattern or realistic looking texture, but this designer made it look too simplistic. I doesn't fit with the other modulars at all...
I noiticed that too when it was first revealed, and the split building design furthers that issue. Still want it though as it is a modular and i have the other 14.
This is an improvement over the last two (extremely disappointing) sets. At least we get some classical buildings with pre-war architecture. But they made some really questionable choices and the house should include another floor. Bring back Jamie Berard!
@@Bionicleforever The Diner sure looks véry different, but I don't get why the Corner Garage is so unpopular. While it's not the most attractive of the modular buildings and the interior could have more details, it does fit a lot better in a modular city than the Diner. And IMO the vintage gas station is a very nice touch which could fit in both a 1940s city & a 21st century city...
@@OutOfTheBoxThinker eh I still feel like its very much 1950s compared to the other modulars. Also just the fact that's its kind of ugly in general imo doesn't help it
The blue hoilding looks much to small in my eves! ;( In addition, I am not that sure if it is a good idea placing two almost similar coloured building next to each other... One last: the space between your moc and the modular would need some more details -> park/ place...? Nevertheless your city is still so amazing!! :D
absolutely pointless having a staircase. the second you take off the roof, the building is incomplete. like how can a lego man be moved when the roof is on? Lego has many flaws.
I really hope the next modular is a bowling ally/arcade. That's the set I've always wanted lol.

i don’t necessarily think they are disappointing, i just think they have a little less detail on the exterior.
San Francisco type houses are called Victorian-style homes - FYI . Great Video
Great addition to the city! Hope you and your family had a great New Year
I love the tree.
Like the placement of the new modular.

Good placement next to the Assembly square! I hope that we can keep commenting, it makes it much more fun! Great video!

I like that blue color lego building
I think I will be doing some copies of the apartment but in different colors. Perfect base for it
Awesome! I can’t wait to get mine built and placed.
Did you ever do anything more with the Batcave that was under the city?
I am hoping to get this. I may make it "seasonal" and changes the tree to reflect the seasons.
Nice video. Good news that I can still post here. :)
Nice I bought it btw I have almost all modular buildings
If the front door of the resident house annoys you, then why don't you just flip the frame? There is enough room for the door to open outwards.

I've yet to build and place mine, maybe soon :)
Good modular set. The tree in the front needs revision. I'm may change mine to another tree version.
I hope the next modular is just an apartment building with essential items in all the rooms

70's, 80's nor 90's is definitely not what the creator was going for. I'm not a fan of the tree either.
Thank you for sharing✌💛☺
Yeah, I thought these were set in the 40s/50s
Eventually you're gonna have to buy a second house to store all the new modulars lol
I can see people buying multiple of this set to create neighborhoods

Its funny how the kit has you build the tree last, but iirc the *first thing* the lego designer who made this built WAS the tree

Cafe corner, Town Hall, and Green Grocer are my top three
Alex Nunes cliche
The iguana is one of those lizards that change colours it’s supposed to get lost on the bed
Oscar's Lego Worlds you mean a chameleon
Yeah
Blue building? Turquoise.
I wish I had all that money to buy all those legos i literally don’t have enough money for a small minifigure
Am I missing somthing, aren't comments and ads and stuff meant to be disabled now cause of the coppa thing??
I was thinking this too. Seems that hasn't happened yet.

Good videoo
I don't like how they no longer used the classic smiley. :( doesn't fit the rest of the town anymore imo
I can’t agree more the last 3 Modulars have been very disappointing
Al Carbo I know right, it’s as if the last good modular is the assembly square. Which is also the last modular I bought 🤣🤣
Then... switch them out? The classic heads are like 2 cents on bricklink...
I do like it more without the birch tree.
It looks so small why those it have so many pieces
It’s a chameleon I sorry but that really annoyed especially because I have a chameleon
small will need two think lego did that on purpose.
Why WhiTe trees?? Why Green Stairs?? 🥺 They kill it😭
The bookshop owner’s pet is a Chameleon
Thank you!
That looks terrible placed next to the assembly square. The browns fade into each other. You want it to POP and COMPLIMENT.
