- The lower part of the Iragna canyon is rather short but quite spectacular. It starts off with a big rappel, usually done from the side to avoid the water, and continues with plenty of jumps and slides until, in typical Ticino style, it ends up right back in the village.
Parking: 46°19'40.1"N 8°58'06.2"E
Ascent: From the parking area continue upriver staying on this side of the river until you reach the exit of the canyon. Make sure to check the water level. From here, follow the path up which leads you to a small stone brigde over the canyon. Continue up and left on the other side of the bridge, until a marked path (blue dot) branches off to the left and leads you into the canyon. (20 min)
Descent: A nice big rappel (40 m) to start off, and plenty of jumps that follow. Be a little careful with the slide around the corner. (2 h)
The way back: Follow the road back. (3 min)

I just moved to Geneva and have experience. How do I get started canyoning in Switzerland?
when did you run this? Is it generally doable in late may/early june, or too early?
This was at the end of september / early october last year. It could be doable at the end of may or early june, depending on the weather
will it be cold?
Depends on when you are there ;)
Can you make a prediction about the waterlevel mid November?
@@casperhijmans6243 Usually in november the water levels are low (and cold), but it can always rain..
