lamars release is laser quick. besides all the other notes thats my biggest take away. most teams dont survive that pressure but bc his release is so fast he buys himself that extra half a second to make a completion.
Sorry haven't been commenting as much. Still hitting the like button consistently. To add more conext, i dont have much to comment about. I like to listen and all of you do an excellent job. Live easy ✌
This was good and to-the-point, at least for me as a fan. To detail out not only what we did wrong, but what we need to overcome. Nothing is guaranteed - witness Vikings over Niners. But this is the new Lions and after the long haul, a very long haul, we are different. I believe in this team. Let's win the Division! One Pride :)
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a rough game to watch but I do think the issues they were having are fixable with better technique, execution, and discipline from the players
Lol Ravens fan here luv this” since you put Ravens in you title you might see more of us just checking to see if y’all coming for our QB1. Since you didn’t I like that lol phase “getting caught with greedy eyes 👀 ” funny. You guys have a good team that got Lamar’d & ZeRo’d by your big brothers, but don’t worry yall better than others in your division.😊 just stay humble and Thank Lamar and “nim” for helping y’all fix what was exposed, just as we are doing, and move on and maybe we will meet again at another dance…stay humble like Lamar and nim y’all got this…Go Ravens
Dan Campbell has always given me the impression that he does not take Lamar seriously as passer and the plan was Make him throw and if he throws he can't read blitzes anyway. I feel like that impression seeped into the team. And Monken was using things Roman offense did often but adding a wrinkle to it against the Lions most exemplified by that Ricard catch and run.
That's every team's mistake. The media, and their false narratives, about a player, like Lamar Jackson, shapes a hardcore, initial impression, in tan's minds, that is very powerful, and hard to dislodge from people's brains. Some still outright REFUSE to accept what they SEE, and STILL say he "can't throw"! Wrong and Ignorant. That's why so many teams get beat by Lamar. He's ALWAYS been a good passer -- RUclips has his games; check the stats --who just happens to be fast, as well. A QB can be multitalented, it never meant that he can't ALSO throw well. Be independent from these recency bias, biased sports media shows! HC Campbell was SURPRISED, even shocked , perhaps, and didn't do his job well. A little real research, and he'd have known that Lamar is throwing very well. The receivers just had a short spell of surefire TD drops before the Lions game, which resulted in the Steelers loss.
Muther fer i skipped all your full game highlights the past 5 years to watch all the home games I've seen live. Y'all good tho. I'll check out when I wake up. Let's go power nap 11am comes quick
Will Harris did not know what he was doing. We played to stop the run and dropped CB and safety depth for a wide open zone on every play. LBs didn't drop deep in case Lamar escaped. No consistent penatration on pass rush because they were hoping to keep Lamar in front of them. . That's a scared way to play.
Offensively, the OL had their worst game-- we couldn't establish the run and we were sloppy on pass blocking and picking up blitzes. By the time it's 21 to 0, we were one dimensional. Made it look like David Montgomery is everything to this offense
25:08 Yeah, there's a lot of ugly in this one. You guys (Dan Campbell) will learn alot from this game and it will make you a better team ! Where-as our coach brags about our ugly wins, and seems to take pride in (keepin' games close) barely beating lesser competition. In the process lossing two or three totally winnable games per season. And seemingly learning nothing from them, over the years ! We've already played down to two of them for losses, Pit and Indy...
Meko, on the play you want to blame Hutch I have to disagree. To me, the one at fault is Kerby Joseph. When Lamar spins out and rolls to our left he leaves his area of the field to go after Lamar. He has to take some blame as he ends up in no mans land. I think Branch though he had help in the middle of the end zone as that is where Kerby was before vacating. I also am surprised you didn't show the big plays over the middle where Sutton just backpedaled and let his receiver go unguarded to the middle while he continued dropping back to cover nobody. There were at least two or three big plays for receptions that I thought were his fault.
That’s fair. My blame towards Hutch is just that he gives Lamar an easy escape that leads to him having more time to find an open man. Kerby could have been in better position to cover that zone but I just think the domino starts with the failed pass rush
You're probably right, but I'm still not a fan of Barnes firing that quickly on that play. He has to know that a chip/release is possible in that situation
If that's so they dont watch film of dont care about Ricard beating them on a play . If you dont civer him he will get the ball. My man is big but he can catch. He must of been out of breath tho because ive never seen him not run someone over after the catch.
We felt there were more issues on the defensive end in terms of poor execution. The offense definitely had their issues with giving up pressure which kept Goff from getting into his usual rhythm
I like the Lions, just not more than my Ravens. I agree this game was not reflrction of the Lions should get minimum 12 wins this season. My concern is that the Lions are a dome team playing on turf, which seems to really hurt the defense. So l hope the Lions arent tripped up by their home turf situation. I had puck the Ravens 31-13ish because of the dome/turf factor. Open that roof up and throw some grass on the ground lol.
@@coreypatterson1007I dunno if they exposed them. The schemes they used really only work if you have Lamar action smacked’em mashed’em gashed’em lashed’em hittem with that backspin Jackson
Yeah I’m not sure exposed is the word I’d use either. I think they just executed at a higher clip and kept the pressure on the Lions which never allowed them to get into a rhythm
While that may be true, I think the fact that the Lions don't see Lamar much hurt them. They will prob get to 12 wins and get another shot in the playoffs.
I’m careful not to call players soft after poor performances but I will say that they didn’t execute with the same level of precision we’re used to seeing
WHY? Let's dive deep into the deficiencies and lack of coaching and talent..... It's year 3, we said BH and DC needed to build to year 3 and YEAR 4 Would be "THE" Year, but how short are the memories. F you two! You are not drafting or coaching, worse than Steven A Smith. SMH
Hey Jon, couple of quick questions…where did we question or belittle the coaches in this breakdown? Also point to where we trashed the talent of this roster or complained about this team, DC or BH not living up to expectations or putting together a good team? We also NEVER called this team fraudulent like a certain ESPN commentator. So please place your feelings to the side and realize that this is a FILM STUDY where we highlighted what went wrong in one game.

Idk if yal were joking funny if you were regardless lol, but pat ricard is a full back
Pat will often be lined up and used as a tight end. Analysts sometimes refer to him as a TE. Not uncommon. 👍
