"You got the ring for a reason!" This statement from Brian speaks volumes, demonstrating how important a loving marital relationship can be. If only everyone could embrace that concept, making the distinction between love of friends vs the love of partner/significant other. This again is what makes your union so special. My hat goes off to you guys
Hey my RUclips favorite couple I loved this video it shows how much love you guys have for each other can't get enough. Love you guys and keep giving awesome content.
The both of you are meant to be together ,your love for each other shows with in your eyes. Both of you are extremely matured you don’t talk nor carry on a lot of foolishness. It is my sincere prayer 🙏🏽 that your union will for ever. You are a perfect couple.
We loved this conversation!!! I (Kent) have had issues with friends feeling like I put my relationship first (which I do) so this video hit home. It’s definitely important to find that balance but if they are true friends/family they understand and it all works out. Love you guys ❤❤❤.
Glad you could relate and always good to have either of you chime in! At the end of the day we have to realize that friendships are relationships too and require communication the same way that the connections with our partners do. As you said, if they are in it the same way you are, then they will eventually understand and it will work out. My friends and I are no stranger to a squabble, but one thing we GUNA do is talk sh!t out lol.
I feel like you can’t lose yourself when you get married. I spend a lot of time with my husband but, I make time for myself as well as my friends. You two will figure it out. All relationships take work.
We couldn't agree more. We have seen how easy it is to feel like you lose your own identity in the process which only further showed us the importance to not just show up as a union but as the individuals we were even before the relationship. It has taken us time to reach where we are now but we will definitely continue to work at it! Thanks for the insight Monique 💜
Brian and Alec, this couch conversation is great with a lot of knowledge. This was true to heart from both of you. Alec, I love the way the questions just roll out of your mouth. As both of you already know, The Mazelin family is my favorite RUclips married couple!!! The love you guys have shown toward each other is great. I know neither one of you wouldn't let anyone or anything come between union. The energy is great keep it going ❤❤❤!!!
Very cute and yes apart to I wish more couples can interact and talk about things the Way You Are do things it's very romantic and nice to see empowered black couples keep the good work up
Hi Brian and Alec this conversation is very informative thanks for sharing with us. I don't think couples should share their personal problems with friends, because sometime it creates more problems. And you don't want anyone taking sides. but the discussion was great thanks again. love you guys💜❤️Hi Bj.
I’m beyond words for this type of conversation!!!! Right now you both are my #1 RUclipsrs 🎉❤ Thanks for the great opportunity to be in ur life❤❤❤❤❤ I’m ready to have that times comes…. ‼️👍🏾💯
Relationships are always in flux, I reckon - even when it doesn’t seem so, because it involves multiple people with the rich complexity that each brings to the relationship and people change. Once you also significant others into the mix, it can catalyse all sorts of stuff both immediately and after a while when things have settled in. I guess Alec’s situation is further complicated by being in a foreign country; your sensitivity is wholly admirable, Brian. 🥰🥰
The entire situation is ever changing. Just one of those things you have to be prepared for when making that step to be tethered to another for the rest of your life. An interesting journey indeed!
As always, I love y'all's transparency. I've definitely missed Alec asking very insightful (and slightly spicy) questions that catch Brian legitimately off-guard & he has to pause & process before answering. Makes me think of the early days lol. Love y'all always ❤
Just dropping in to say this is also the reason why having other friends who are in relationships is so awesome. Even morseo, being friends with other couples is a big bonus :)
Thank you for this video it has given me a lot of insight and knowledge to apply to my relationship with my partner of 4 years. You and brian are like my role models of how I want my marriage to be which has prompted me to go and propose to my boyfriend. There aren’t any or many gay couples and marriages I can look up to but I can honestly say brian and alec you two are it.
I definitely see where you are coming from with this. For me personally, this was my opinion for the longest while. With more experience in my life personally I realized that I prioritized my friends and spending time with them over people I was trying to build a romantic connection with and in turn seemingly was "blocking my blessing". So it is definitely something that required me to go to the drawing board to find the right balance. Just like relationships though, friendships too are relationships that can potentially end badly. So it is all about give and take and finding balance I find. We appreciate you contributing to the convo!
Hi guys this was needed convo for many as sometimes when you have close friends that you been with for a while and then you get a boyfriend or girlfriend that you are now spending a lot of time with friends can get jealous of your relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend, so you do have to find a way to have the balance between the two and you two have done that well. I love you guys keep it coming.
Hey brothers! 🤗 Totally get where Brian's coming from; balancing friendships and relationships is always a tightrope walk. Giving each friendship its own space is so crucial, even more when your partner has made big life changes as Alec has done. It's all about that mutual understanding and respect. Joe and Brian are similar with that skepticism about people's intentions - it's a protective instinct, right? 🤔 And about mingling with singles vs. couples, you've sparked an interesting convo - we've mostly been surrounded by single friends, never thought to compare the dynamics. Really intriguing thought! 💭 This was such a great conversation - thank you both for being so open and keeping it real - ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So many great questions. I especially liked the point about sharing the positives of your relationship, and not just continue to complain to those around us. Being much more "seasoned" in a 23 year relationship I found that friendships change as we go through life. It's inevitable. But the reasons I fell in love with Charles never changed, and only grew more over the years as we each contributed to the relationship. And while we occasionally disagreed, we never got mad at each other.
That's very true that friendships change overtime. We feel this even applies to relationships to some degree too. Everytime we hear about your relationship with Charles it really just warms our heart Jon! It really seems like it was that kind of deep love you see in movies 😍
Such a great video! I’ve more than once chosen my relationship over friendships. That didn’t work for me!!! Ignored my friends and hung around his. But I’m blessed to have friends who understood my craziness and were there to pick up the pieces!!! Have a great week, my favorite couple. 💜💜
Alec, you articulate feelings very well. What a gift. This was a super sofa-chat for your new subscribers. I hope they appreciate your opening as much as the rest of us. Bless you both.
Great topic! I agree that i want and need both the friend & the relationship, and to reserve some things for just the relationship, and to share the good & bad
Happy Sunday guys. Loved the conversation between the two of you. The ending melted my heart. I love you guys love between each other❤ keep on loving each other. Monica from philly 😘
When I was married we spent a lot of time together. But I did bot have any friend that lived close by and he didn’t have many friends at all. I feel your friends are there for you sometime more than your spouse. I’m divorced now and my friends are still her and he is gone sooo…But being a couples therapist, I feel like you guys have good communication and that is the key to a healthy relationship.
We think it’s definitely important to have those friendships independent of our partner to help really foster that individual sense of self. Luckily we have been able to voice that with each other, even though it was difficult at the time. We’re sorry to hear about your divorce though, but really comforted in knowing your circle is still intact and there for you! Whether friendship or relationship, we know connections don’t always last as long as we want them to. So for us we’re holding on to both as tightly as we can and trying our best to work towards a positive outcome. Thanks for your insight! Much love 💜
I love you alls relationship and how transparent you guys can be, you both genuinely love and care about one another and it shows, you love one another’s company, that’s especially admirable in today’s marriage and dating culture 💯
Brian and Alec I appreciate your content in this video. The friendship relationship can always be an issue. I’m so glad your friends are welcoming. You two are in an awesome marriage. I love both responses. I’m more like Brian an introvert in a relationship. Keep having an open conversation is key my friends.
Agreed. It may be perceived as guilt, but as we said, there was no issue to blame. And we know the feeling stems from that deep love that you are referencing. Thanks Reginald 🙏🏽
I really enjoyed this. You have found the balance between relationships and friendships. It's much easier said then done. Bravo to you lovely gentlemen.❤❤
Your friendships should respect and enhance your relationship. That means if u got a friend who is quick to pounce and agitate an issue with ur partner....he/she gots to go. Likewise, if u r talking about ur partner (bad mouthing) him/her to ur friend, a good friend is going to tell u about urself and tell u to take that up wit ur partner.
Hi Friends so excited to see my boys . Happy sunday & I love the way my boys ( 2 of you) smiling making me want to smile too. I'm blessed I'm done fooling around with people enough is enough you know what I'm saying I don't want to deal with toxic people no more. I'm happy to watch you both again Its been awhile since I watch your videos. I was focusing on getting my GED 🎓 I'm nervous I hope I passed so I can go to college & chase my dreams
Sunday greetings to you guys. Very interesting topic great sit down talk. Lots to think about and ponder on. It was very tacking. Love you guys still as always ❤❤❤
I enjoyed this conversation and I think it’s important to keep friend’s & family out your relationship. Because when marriage happens, you become one with each other, not everyone else. It will always be relationship over friends. At the end of the day, when everything settles, it’s just you & that person. Again, I enjoyed this conversation and I hope too see a part 2. Great job Brian & Alec.
Incredible video presentation. Thank you for your openness and honesty. Definitely a part two is in order, with Brian doing the interviewing. I can hear the introvert in him resisting, lol. Brian you may be a man of few words, but your insight is powerful. It's clear that friendship is important to both of you, and it appears your true friends have been long lasting relationships. One area that Brian can touch on is also finding the balance with BJ. Alec, you have indicated that you get to spend a lot of one-on-one time with BJ. Brian, as in your friendships, how do you find the balance with BJ? This by no means is a negative but before Alec, it was you and him. How do you make sure he gets his individual time with you, particularly as he approaches the difficult teen years?
Well I must say you guys are doing it the way I would if i were in a Relationship. I've never had many friends although I know a ton of people. When I was involved with someone I never spoke about any troubles we were having with friends. I find it's best to keep as many folk out of that part of your life as possible.of course I had to find this out the hard way LOL. .People who I thought were friends weren't. Today I have a very small circle of friends most of whom are in New York. .I've lived here in the Orlando metro area for a while and I have two straight friends and that's it. I wish you both the very very best . Peace
I agree with Brian in that Alec is the more chatty one and would strike a conversation faster. I remember when we met at Irish Shannon’s (that club in downtown Orlando) Alec introduced himself and his fiancé (as he then was) and Brian was in the corner standing with his resting B**ch face 🤣🤣🤣
I agree relationship and friendship are important, however i will pick my relationship over my friends. Additionally, when the dust settles they are there. ❤❤❤ I love your videos, keep up great work on normalize gay love and relationships....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
One thing that is important to note is that outside of finding balance its super important to also not take those close to us for granted, whether relationship or friendship. Thanks for always building us up with such positive words Donreece! 💜
This is a little hard for me because my boyfriend and I have been together for four years and we went out together with friends once two years ago he’s socially awkward according to him, and he’s a introvert totally opposite of me, so we just go out together without other people and I really want to hang out with other people but I feel bad leaving him at home so I don’t go out
Great topic guys! I appreciate you switching things up this week. This area definitely takes some time navigating in new relationships. My partner and I have similar views to you guys.
I think it’s important to maintain your friendships while in a serious relationship …have to give time and attention to both relationships..it may be easier with friends that are also married or in commitment..can be a slippery slope but definitely managed..and time “apart” is fine it’s healthy imo
It definitely is! It really is a balancing act that is important to keep the lines of communication open not only with partner but with friends as well. Even though we are united as one we both are individuals at the end of the day with different interests and it is very important to continue to feed those in a healthy way, even if it means doing so by yourself. So we agree with you 100%!
Hey guys happy Sunday is it safe to say that you guys are my heroes my inspiration just want to thank you for always making me feel good about myself ❤❤so I love you guys so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤one love 😍 always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Alec and Brian: Great conversation. You are both very smart-Alec you should consider becoming a Lecturer on this very subject😊I am sure many folks can learn and gain some enlightenment from the advice from both of you.😊
@@MeetTheMazelins Will do. I am from Guyana living in Maryland. I love watching you and Brian, so I decided to subscribe tonight. Take care❤️🙂Keep the love brewing😊
I was just being Coy. I think Brian knows where I stand when it comes to that. If it wasn’t absolutely clear that we were each others number 1s I don’t think we would have gone through with the process of marriage. Thanks for the concern though.
It's important to set the terms and "rules" of your relationship and then you navigate your friendship and personal time accordingly.....and re-evaluate your relationship periodically to ensure you're both on the same page. ...... I feel like we shouldn't share or relational probelms with our friends.....I try not to. I only share surface level things. I'll say something like....Ugh he's such a stereotypical Virgo😅 and my friend can interpret that how they want to. ...... On a lighter note.... What cologne or perfume yall wear? 😂😂😂😂😂 ... As always ...I love your love.

Great video. Loved the honesty.
Thanks Billy!
Hey you guys happy Sunday enjoy the rest of your day love ❤ always
Happy Sunday to you too Melda!
Such and attractive couple! Great Q&A. I’m a new subbie 🫶🏽
Awww thank you Nicole! Have us blushing over here 😅. Happy to have you join our fam here on RUclips. Welcome!
You guys are amazing ❤
Thanks Mike 😊🫶🏽

Great topic guys!

Alec and Brian: Great conversation. You are both very smart-Alec you should consider becoming a Lecturer on this very subject😊I am sure many folks can learn and gain some enlightenment from the advice from both of you.😊
Thank you Bridget 💜. Haha well if you see any lecture opportunities on this feel free to send it my way 😆. We appreciate it!
@@MeetTheMazelins Will do. I am from Guyana living in Maryland. I love watching you and Brian, so I decided to subscribe tonight. Take care❤️🙂Keep the love brewing😊
Awww thank you for subscribing. We appreciate the support! Definitely what keeps us going 😁. Big up to you from Guyana!
Brian should be more than a little bit above your friends. He should always be your number one dude.
I was just being Coy. I think Brian knows where I stand when it comes to that. If it wasn’t absolutely clear that we were each others number 1s I don’t think we would have gone through with the process of marriage. Thanks for the concern though.
love, love you both, and sure we could do with a part two. keep God in the mix and you will be okay
Glad to hear Angie! Feel free to drop questions below too for us to include in the part 2!
Amazing Discussion 👍👍👍
It's important to set the terms and "rules" of your relationship and then you navigate your friendship and personal time accordingly.....and re-evaluate your relationship periodically to ensure you're both on the same page.
......
I feel like we shouldn't share or relational probelms with our friends.....I try not to. I only share surface level things. I'll say something like....Ugh he's such a stereotypical Virgo😅 and my friend can interpret that how they want to.
......
On a lighter note....
What cologne or perfume yall wear? 😂😂😂😂😂
...
