Can't describe my level of happiness in coming across your channel. Been an ardent booktube watcher since 2017 and whenever I see a western youtube talk about books, I always yearned to see such content made by someone closer too. A booktuber, that too an amazing one, from Chennai fills my heart with so much joy. Your recommendations are amazing and I'm really looking forward to more of your content
Thank you so much ☺️ your kind words mean everything to me🥰 I’m glad you like my content. You make me feel the exact way I made you feel … happy and thrilled 🤩
It has been hardly 3 weeks tha I have moved to Chennai from West Bengal. I find the people here very warm, affectionate and helping me to get along. I have recently started spending more time with books and was looking for good book stores around. A single video covering the whole city is like a godsend. Thank you Susmitha for all the effort. It means a lot 🙏
Welcome to Chennai 😍 I’m glad you are settling in with good people and find Chennai warm and affectionate. Happy reading and book shopping in Chennai 🫶❤️
I didn't know Chennai had such beautiful bookstores. Will definitely visit some of these. Also so refreshing to watch a fellow Indian have very similar reading tastes. Love from Kolkata
I just happened to stumble across your channel and I'm so glad! I've been wanting to start my youtube channel for so long and your videos just gave me so much confidence 😊 😊
Ah lovely to see a book tube video from a fellow chennaite❤ I loved The Secret Society of Irregular Witches and was okay with Legends and Lattes. And anything with Neil Gaiman is a win and I refuse to believe otherwise… Have to check out The Warm Hands of Ghosts, I loved Ms Arden’s Winternight Trilogy so very much…Unfortunately I lost my love with the SJM charm after ACOTAR series… I hope you have fun with your loot… 😊
Aww this makes me all the more excited to read the very secret society of irregular witches 😍 I’m in the middle of SjM ‘s Acotar and crescent city series. My first time with sjm series. And thank you for tuning in my fellow chennaite 🤩
Glad to have come across your video as I'm about to move to Chennai (first move out of home) next month! The city looks more comforting and exciting with books all round. :)
This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched, and I really enjoyed getting to go on the book haul journey with you! I’ve never been to India, so it was awesome to see a few of the bookstores there ❤ Great video, and I’ve added a few of those books to my tbr list now 🎉🙏
I definitely will, and thank you for replying!! I’m sure it’s time consuming trying to reply to everyone when you have a ton of subscribers 🙏 I truly appreciate you taking time out of your day to interact with us 😁
Hey! I just finished reading The Graveyard Book (and loved it) so if you like it you’ll LOVE another book by Neil Gaiman called The Ocean at the End of the Lane 😊🤍✨ it was nice to see this vlog, lots of love from Kerala!
Hey there 😍 i have already devoured the graveyard book and yes i absolutely adored it. I ll definitely check out the ocean at the end of the lane. Thanks for the rec🫶🥰
Hi! I just stumbled into yer channel and of course, you earned another subscriber. Btw, the Morosaki bookshop book has been recommended by many Book enthusiasts. I placed an order for the same this afternoon. After watching your video, I had cancelled that order and chosen legends and lattes instead. That Book has an interesting plot too. Note: I have a thing of buying only one Book per month. Might buy that one next month.
Hi there thanks for subbing ❤️ I haven’t read legends and latte yet. But have finished reading Morisaki. It was awesome. I hope you love it next month🥰 and hats off to ur self control 😊
@@readwithsusmitha My two cents.. DAYS AT THE MORISAKI BOOKSHOP - By Satoshi Yagisawa - Translated by Eric Ozawa I reckon this is the second Japanese work that I’ve read, the first being ‘Ikigai’ and I certainly appreciate the cultural similarities we Asians have! Picked this up because it seemed to be the Internet’s staple and also the title hinted at an interesting setting.. The book is divided into two parts, though I don’t really understand the particular need for it to be so. I fell in love with the story within the first few minutes of starting the book. Of course, as it is obvious, the author describes an old (used) bookshop set in the milieu of similar shops. The way he describes the atmosphere and mood of the story is so captivating and makes the reader overjoyed. If you are one to enjoy such an ambience, bookstores, especially old bookstores..and the powerfully pleasant emotions/sensations they evoke, you’ll certainly love this story. The story seems to end abruptly and that left me wondering, the protagonist found the closure that she may/ may not have sought but what about the reader?! I felt (a very personal opinion, mind you!) that the two parts are about two people that the main character interacts with; two people with very similar personalities but failed to see eye-to-eye beyond a point in time; the first interaction showed how very limited things can become someone’s entire world and the second encounter shows how the whole wide world itself can seem very close to hand for someone. Also, even though the book is not one to be brimming with ‘quotable quotes’, there’s one particular portion that stands out.. “ it’s important to stand still sometimes; think of it as a little rest in the long journey of your life. This is your harbour and your boat is just dropping anchor here for a while. And, after you’re well rested, you can set sail again.” The cover art is just fantastic! Overall, the book just makes your heart swell with joy. Highly recommended short-read!! 🤩😍
