I decided to do some houseplant shopping finally! I haven't purchased new plants for quite some time & I was in the mood to pick up some new hanging houseplants in particular. I went to my favorite nursery as well as the love's garden section & I found some really great plants I think! I have been loving sticking to the easy care house plants lately.

Oh the coffee when you're a pregnant lady... both of my children were late. My first I had wicked nausea the entire time. Nothing sounded good, but when something did finally sound like it would stay down, I had to get it. Right at the end I wanted a pumpkin spice latte. I got hate. Woman came right at me about it. My husband thought I was going to kill a woman over a pumpkin spice, and if I hadn't been 40+ weeks, I'd have done it. People need to find a life that isn't someone else's business. Ahhh!
I would freak 🙀 it’s just crazy to me people feel like they have the authority to give health advice. Like, we have drs for a reason & it seems like most drs agree that a small amount of caffeine is fine! 🤷🏽♀️ pregnancy is hard, we need to indulge here & there 😋💕
Eating fish is really good for the unborn baby 🧠 brains. But minimum!

normally you’re so self confident in yourself, but in this video i feel like you were concerned about what people would think and say. i love you and your personality, and it kinda hurts to see you having to worry about what people will say. you don’t have to justify yourself to anybody, just a reminder because you’re already awesome :) keep doing you!

Omgosh, pregnancy advice usually does come from good intentions, but seriously if u feel comfortable in urself doing what u do, then do it and enjoy it :) so many people worry too much about the negatives and miss out on the positives happening right infront of them. They are really great! This time last year though, the prices were $2 cheaper... they have been raising prices steadily which kind of sucks 😭 I guess I can’t complain too much because hey are still excellent

I was just at the store yesterday eyeing a plant I already have two of. I mostly shop for plants at Walmart since it's closest, so I just convince myself that I'm rescuing a plant that will probably be neglected otherwise. 😂 ((Also, I've never been pregnant, but my general belief is that you know your body better than anyone else ever could. Sorry you're getting so much unsolicited advice though. Congrats on little baby G!))

Lmao. When I was pregnant I dyed my hair, exercised, lifted weights, drank coffee, and rose various items over my head. My daughter was healthy and on time. Unless your doctor says otherwise you're fine. I also stopped buying for months and recently went to my local plant nursery and bought a giant golden pothos 😕......I have several 😂😂
The lifting over the head is so silly to me. Our ancestors would swing from tree to tree but we can't lift our arms? Plenty research shows that stress is bad and exercise is good. So just keep happy and active you're fine...
I just got my newest addition to my plant gang. Issa snake plant! I figured I'd get one since they practically thrive on neglect.

Totally agree plant shopping is the best. I don't know if you know but when you putting up the dresser in the baby room.Attach them to the floor or wall so it won't tip over in case the little wants to climb up on it.
Girl I tried to go coffee free with my son, but I was always exhausted. I had one cup a day with my daughter, and I functioned. She’s super healthy and happy so no regrets!

It never fails! Every time I tag along on a Harli plant shopping adventure I see something I love and Harli leaves it in the store 😂 The Nepenthes pitcher plants that were hanging were all absolutely gorgeous and I probably would have bought them all. 🙈
P.S. Poor Ryan! He leaves the house then plants just appear out of nowhere. 😂👍
I am terrified of carnivorous plant care needs! I don’t feel knowledgeable enough about them so I don’t want to bring one home & torture it to death!

Advice has changed so much on pregnancy! Doctors used to think a glass of wine was okay 🤔 now they say no coffee 😮 In my grandmas time they used to give babies pure orange juice in the morning 😧 😂 we survive whatever doctors next come up with.

Dont worry, i started having a bald spot when i was pregnant. It will grow back after baby is out. So you'll have a new baby and baby hairs 😅
I read somewhere that parting your hair in different places would help the bald spot from more hair fall.

In Atlanta most choose Caribou Coffee en lieu of Starbucks. Years ago I visited Starbucks, but now it is mostly burnt tasting/and too sweet. At least that's my perception! Plants, I've aways liked!
Jon Galt yeah I’m not a huge Starbucks fan, it just so happened it was on the ya to where I was going! A lot of people in Utah don’t drink coffee for religious purposes so there aren’t too many great coffee shops here 😭
Hi Harli! You found some beautiful plants, and good prices, too! I'm glad you're doing what you and your Dr. feel is best for your baby. It's just too bad that so many people want to give advise when you didn't ask for it in the first place. Hopefully, after watching this, people will keep their advise to themselves. My pregnancy advice: You do you girl! You are a good person with lots of plant happiness in your life so your baby will feel that. Back to plants! I definitely have to keep myself from buying repeats especially peperomia. My reasoning is “it made me so happy the first time I bought it so it’s going to make me happy again”! If I see a plant I want and talk myself out of it and walk away from the plant shop, I won’t stop thinking about it for a day or few and end going back to look for it. My gosh it’s like a drug addiction 🤷🏻♀️

Hey :) just a warning for the heart-leaf philodendron: be careful if hang it near a wall cause the aerial roots attach themselves to it and can even go through it. Had that happened to me and it was tough getting them out 😅 but it is a gorgeous plant and it grows soooo fast I'm sure you're gonna love it!

Thank you for the vote of confidence & for understanding! I know people come from a place of caring when they give their advice, it just weighs heavily when so much advice is coming from every direction that wasn’t solicited! Coffee is necessary sometimes!
My grandmother was a heavy coffee drinker she had six healthy children my mom had 12 healthy children and she drank tea all the time. I drank tea and also drink coffee during for pregnancies and I had four healthy children I think doctors give all that advice cuz they're scared if they don't they'll get sued. Unless you have some kind of medical condition like high blood pressure or something coffee keeps us going and sometimes it's the only thing that gets rid of a headache don't listen to all those people that are going to give you a hard time you look great and you feel great and coffee and tea are not going to hurt you they're better for you than Cola or soda whatever you call it pop?
People need to mind their own and stay out of yours! Believe me, if drinking coffee is the worst thing you do during your pregnancy, then your baby already has it made! There's SO much worse you could be putting in your body. And honestly-just like it's really none of our business- we comment bc we care. People in public, that randomly come up to you WITHOUT being asked are just plain rude and need to be put in their place!!

You detach from plants when you give it to friends bc you know it’s going to a good home! When you are in the store you can just think of it being alone and feeling left behind. I am the same way 🌱
I can relate!! My favorite thing to do is get up early, grab some coffee and go plant shopping!! And I’m the same with Pothos and Philodendrons, I always want more!!

What’s your routine for bringing new plants home? Do you repot everything? Hydrogen peroxide treatment? Quarantine? And how do you clean really full and lush plants? I watched your video with the spray and wiping your monstera, but I’m finding it hard to keep my more busy plants clean and pest free, currently fighting mealys on my maranta and spider mites on my dieffenbachia and golden pothos.
I don't repot everything right away! Lately I have been dusting the foliage, soil, & drainage hole with Diatomaceous Earth to control any pests that may be hiding. I normally repot them after around 2 weeks or so!
Oh! & I will be uploading a pest maintenance video every Tuesday all through October! The first one will go up this coming Tuesday. So I hope that will be helpful for you! As for now I can really recommend food grade Diatomaceous Earth! It can get rid of basically any plant pest & it's safe for mammals! Here's a link to my favorite one I use. amzn.to/2nrBf5p

My Bilobata from Lowe's is my favorite plant. It's been full of blooms nonstop after it got adjusted at home almost two years ago!!!

The hoya bilobata is the best 😭 I never find good plants in my super small town so I am literally living through you when you do plant shopping videos! You should do nursery tours! Just give us tours of different nursery’s in your area! Those would be super cool videos. You could also do plant related DIY videos? The Hawaiian Snow Bush is more of a high light plant and they will die if they go dry! Mines been going well for 8 months in a south east window and I probably water it every other day to every 3 days
I love marble queen pothos. I'm growing some that are white with baby green dots. Also my white butterfly arrowhead plant. Amazing Hoya.

I'm the same way with pothos I NEED THEM ALL!!! The prices on JJs nursery are Amazing!!!! Here where I live pothos are $20...... like I can get 2 at JJs.... silver pothos hard hard to find. I bought one in a 4in pot for $12. Awesome haul so therapeutic.
I love we unintentionally plant paused, plant purged, and then unpaused at the same time this year.
Anyone worried about caffeine while pregnant can come talk to my intelligent, hilarious, and charming son cause mama gets migraines and needs her coffee 😂💚

The plants that I have a strange attachment to are Anthuriums. If I see one, then I want it. I can relate on that front.
My husband has worked at Lowe’s a long time and he hates it just as much when he has to start dealing with Christmas items so early!! Bahahaha. We’re with you on that🤣

I’m in a group with some serious Hoya experts and wanted to share this info with you regarding your bilobata. I have 3, the flowers smell kind of like butterscotch and bloom prolifically here in Florida.
“There has been a tremendous amount of 'discussion' about H. sp. ds70, H. tsangii, H. burtoniae, H. bilobata (and probably a couple more) for going back and forth for years. H. sp. ds70 is a collection # from the collection of David Silverman (RIP) who had been President of the International Hoya Society (now defunct) The CURRENT correct label on this is H. sp. aff. burtoniae.”

Bald spots while pregnant are ushually pretty normal! To prevent it you can take certain vitamins (idk at the top of my head what they are) but either way the spots ushually grows back after your baby is born❤

Lol and you shouldn't be! The only thing I really steered clear from was medication, and drugs obviously. If you can though, please get your flu shot. Flu and pregnancy are the WORST! And you can only take Robitussin, which does nothing. Lol

Awesome haul!! I literally just went to Lowe's a couple hours ago and got SO MANY amazing plants! They were bursting with new varieties. I got a grape ivy, oak leaf ivy, 2 kinds of english ivy, a purple Tradescantia, a zebra plant for $3.58 (!), a mahogany fern, AND....a huge pink fittonia and a gorgeous neon philodendron for only $8.58 each! Can you tell I'm excited? Ha! Plant shopping is definitely therapy, ain't no shame in it!
Hi Harli, I just love plant shopping, I love all of the plants you picked up, and totally agree about purchasing the same plant a few times, each plant even if it's the same look different, so I think I have a different plant lol! I loved the hoyas you got at Lowe's. After I left Cactus and Tropicals I had three new plants, so I will never judge anyone that wants to go plant shopping. I just got a notice from my local nursery that they got a new shipment of houseplants since the weather is turning colder and we can't do as much outside now we can focus on the inside. I will be checking it out this coming week. I would really like to find a heart leaf Philodendron, and yours are just gorgeous. Is there a difference between a Hoya rubra and a Hoya Krimson Princess? Are they the same? I got a Hoya at Home Depot that was labeled Rubra, it has larger round leaves but not circle shaped.
I actually think they are the same thing! I just googled it & google agreed although categorization within the Hoya type is constantly changing so it’s hard to keep up haha

The difference is the variegated pattern, princess has the white in the inside (gown) and queen has the white on the outside (crown).
So a princess wears a gown while the week wears a crown!

You do you! Everyone has opinions but as long as your doctor is good, so are you. I will tell you I never had anxiety until I was pregnant. I had stranger danger bad! It was so strange and so unnatural to me but my son turned out to be incredibly shy. So I have always thought it was some link we had with part of him shining through.
I purchased that hoya carnosa at Lowe's. I keep saying I think that's a krimson princess hoya. So when you said that, I was so happy Thank you.
