Hiya Scott, I've been a subscriber for a while but don't often comment, but I absolutely love your work and you as a great inspiration to me. To me, this painting is a beautiful rendition of a peaceful seascape with a virtual flat calm and the water just gliding onto the shore so gently, hardly causing a ripple. Fabulous. Thanks very much Scott, take care, David. (England )
Being new to watercolour painting and loving more free abstract results, this has opened up a whole new way of creating unique and fascinating painting, for me . Thanks Scott.
Scott this is so magnificent. I know you say it is more realistic than the style that you usually work in but this - for me - is such a perfect coming together of realistic and semi-abstract. Wow! Thank you.
Hi Louis! I agree! I really like the tones of the sea that represent it fairly accurately and the loose brush work that from a distance work to create a representation of the landscape. I will continue to follow this path a bit more! Cheers Scott
Hi Heidi, I am glad it evoked something in you. For me that is what art is all about. I too love this painting. It has something that not many paintings have. I don't know what that is....
Beautiful. I miss being able to attempt watercolour. It gave me so much joy. Sadly, I had a stroke so I am now left handed which is awkward so say the least. But after watching him paint I am inspired to keep trying. The satisfaction of watching him set down the colour and deal with results was magical. His technique and talent are very much light years ahead of anything I could achieve.
Hi Christine! You might end up surprising yourself! You will make interesting marks with your left hand and this may lead to paintings you would never have painted with your right! Good luck! I think you should go for it! All the best. Scott
@@joa8227 Great that you are sharing your experience with others in such a positive way. You are right about persevering - something very similar happened to an artist friend of mine. Like you, he managed to adapt & continues to paint & sell his work🦋🌺🌿
Hi Scott, I am a subscriber, and love the way you teach. You have a way that makes watercolour much easier to get my head around. I recently painted a local seascape using your methods, on a half sheet, and it was instantly sold. Great result, thankyou.
Wow Thank you so much I have learnt an enormous amount in a very short time. Many videos show the working on the painting yours shows the whole thing(amazing how you paint whilest letting us all see what you are doing),very few videos actually also show the thinking including the magical moment of doubt transforming into action. The little asides like cleaning the ruler to avoid mistakes done in a non-patronising way make you a wonderful teacher. I have really enjoyed watching you work and learned so much ,so thank you very much.
Hi Geordie Lad! From Newcastle I assume! My in laws live in Clitheroe not that far away! Glad you have found the videos helpful! I will always try and share in an open way my successes and my failures. But my thoughts are that if I am painting and thinking how I could paint it better next time then there is no real failure just feedback and learning! I will be spending the rest of my life learning about the process of creating artworks and watercolour and other mediums I'm sure! Cheers Scott
Hello Scott, I loved this work evolving and the end result. It is beautiful! And I've been watching you all day because I want to try seascapes similar to this one. I'm hemmed in by Moreton Bay on the western side of my island home and the Pacific Ocean on the eastern side. Sooo much temptation to give seascapes in watercolour a go. Still have my little pots of paint potions from the Beginners Landscape course so raring to go. Just need to crack out the turquoise as well.😊❤😂🎉
Lovely seascape! Thanks so much. I learnt more, mostly about leaving so much nice white space for the light. I'm going to find out about the scraping you did at the last.
Bonjour, Super beau paysage de bord de mer. La preuve que faire simple avec goût et doigté donne quelque chose de magnifique et sans y mettre 25 tons... J'aime beaucoup ton style. Il y a du Turner dans l'air...😚😚😚
Hi Pamela! Really glad you liked it!! It really did look very different to the photo when I stepped back snd looked at it in person! I think I actually like this one! 👍🙏
I think I would need a couple of large glasses of ......something to be able to paint as loosely as you do, however it would never look a tenth that good. Great work. Many thanks for sharing.
Hi Alan! Yes! I do do that on occasions! lol! It works both ways! I find it really difficult to be detailed and precise! different things come easily to different people! I've always been good a making a mess. Now I have been able to gradually evolve that mess into something that has some structure! Thanks for watching. Cheers Scott

Gorgeous, love the colour mixes. One day after many more brush hours, maybe I could achieve something a quarter as good as this(in my dreams!),- definitely something to aspire to!

A purely technical suggestion about laying down tape: before you peel tape from its roll turn the free end of the tape upon itself, sticky upon sticky, for an easy to find lifting tab when all is complete. Otherwise, I'm quite enjoying many of your video outcomes. Thanks.
