    Hiya Scott, I've been a subscriber for a while but don't often comment, but I absolutely love your work and you as a great inspiration to me.
    To me, this painting is a beautiful rendition of a peaceful seascape with a virtual flat calm and the water just gliding onto the shore so gently, hardly causing a ripple.
    Fabulous.
    Thanks very much Scott, take care, David. (England )

    . Thanks Scott.

    Scott this is so magnificent. I know you say it is more realistic than the style that you usually work in but this - for me - is such a perfect coming together of realistic and semi-abstract. Wow! Thank you.

      Hi Louis! I agree! I really like the tones of the sea that represent it fairly accurately and the loose brush work that from a distance work to create a representation of the landscape. I will continue to follow this path a bit more! Cheers Scott

    Beautiful. I miss being able to attempt watercolour. It gave me so much joy. Sadly, I had a stroke so I am now left handed which is awkward so say the least. But after watching him paint I am inspired to keep trying. The satisfaction of watching him set down the colour and deal with results was magical. His technique and talent are very much light years ahead of anything I could achieve.

    • @ScottSwinson
      @ScottSwinson  3 года назад +2

      Hi Christine! You might end up surprising yourself! You will make interesting marks with your left hand and this may lead to paintings you would never have painted with your right! Good luck! I think you should go for it! All the best. Scott

    Wow Thank you so much I have learnt an enormous amount in a very short time.Many videos show the working on the painting yours shows the whole thing(amazing how you paint whilest letting us all see what you are doing),very few videos actually also show the thinking including the magical moment of doubt transforming into action.The little asides like cleaning the ruler to avoid mistakes done in a non-patronising way make you a wonderful teacher.
    I have really enjoyed watching you work and learned so much ,so thank you very much.

    Hello Scott, I loved this work evolving and the end result. It is beautiful! And I've been watching you all day because I want to try seascapes similar to this one. I'm hemmed in by Moreton Bay on the western side of my island home and the Pacific Ocean on the eastern side. Sooo much temptation to give seascapes in watercolour a go. Still have my little pots of paint potions from the Beginners Landscape course so raring to go. Just need to crack out the turquoise as well.😊❤😂🎉

    Your approach is a pleasure to watch. I especially enjoy watching your liberal use of water to move the paint. Question…how do you prep the paper so you don’t experience buckling and rolling when you paint?
    Hello from the mountains of WV, US.

      Hi Susan! I'm really glad you are enjoying the videos! I do like to use a lot of water! It sometimes goes very wrong! In terms of my paper I should pre-stretch my paper more often than I do! It does buckle a bit quite often and I just work with it and quickly and then when it is too buckled I dry it and start again by wetting the whole thing again! Hope that helps! I love the mountains! Cheers Scott

      Hi Donna! Thanks! and Thanks for the sub! It is a great way to work if you enjoy painting on a larger scale and freely with free brush strokes and strong tone! Good luck with your painting!

    Hi Scott
    I have recently joined your Patreon group. I love the way you paint. I just would like to know what kind of board is the white board that you mix and dilute your paints on?

      Hi Mahroukh! Thanks for your support on Patreon! I really appreciate it! I paint on a white, aluminium composite board that just sits on top of my desk. I bought it from bunnnings. I will post the link to it below. I am not sure of its availability around the world.....See you in Patreon and the facebook group. Cheers Scott

    Spectacular! Possibly I missed it, but could you give more information on your table/pallet? How do you mix the paint right there next to your painting? You are incredible!

      If you are still interested it is a product called Aligloss. I got some from Bunnings and stuck it to my bench too. It’s great!

    Beautiful painting, Scott. Have you stidied with Tony Smibert? Small question, do you find your hakes tend to shed after a while you need to replace them?

    • @ScottSwinson
      @ScottSwinson  3 года назад +1

      Hi David! Yes Tony Smibert taught me from a young age and is an amazing artist and lovely man! If you can ever get any of his books that are wonderful. In terms of hakes yes they do start to loose hairs after a while then you should replace them although I have an older hake, probably 20 years old, but I can’t part with it! I love it but it does drop some hairs on the page! 👍👍
