One thing that playing necromancer has taught me is that the only debuff you actually need is vulnerable... killing things before they kill you is the best crowd control.
I was on that grind like no other sigma before me. Level 20 first night of open beta. Werebear pulverize was my shit. I had legendaries that guaranteed overpower and damage buff based on fortify. Was really really feeling myself until a level 6 necromancer with 1 blue item was 1 tapping mobs with his left click that took me 3 right clicks to kill.
Monsters scale with level, which means a level 6 looks like they are just using one spell and 1 hit killing everything. Really it's just because of the scaling, it means you will constantly get weaker as you level up...
If scaling is anything like WoW, level 11's will out damage level 59's in a dungeon (or anywhere else) simply because its all percentage based damage behind the scenes. A lowbie needs to be able to do X amount of damage with their limited skills otherwise they'd be stuck. Meanwhile a level 59 has almost all of their abilities to fill their rotation but can't put a scratch on a level 11's DPS. Its broken af but how important is it to fix? Leveling is just a means to and end and balancing end game is what should matter. I'm not surprised if thats how D4 works too. That being said, if one class is more/less fun than another at the same level, then something could be done about it for sure.
i mean still, my druid is 25 and pretty geared out with all legendaries to buff up Pulverize and my level 17 necro with some random ass legendaries on explodes rooms much harder with Blood Nova + Corpse Explosion
@@3allz CONGRATZ on showing how ignorant and matrixed you are even tho you watch Asmongold lol leveling should be fun leveling should matter and end game shouldn't "everything" period.
The thing with druid is that most spells have fancy hitboxes and shapes instead of "huge cricle aoe -sorceress" and "simple line skillshot -necro". So even if druid did the same dmg it would feel like it´s less. All the rock spells for example are really specific projectiles(rolling ball) or a small square hitbox. From looking and playing around with the tool kit of druid, it looks really good for endgame. Insane amounts of cc, good tank passives(lots of fortify, hp, dmg reductions(magic and physical) and very flexible dmg profile (melee, ranged, hybrid, dot dmg, burst dmg, sustain dmg). If they tune druid right (if the dmg is there), it´s a monster class tbh.
Just finished watching a streamer who played Alpha and was allowed to speak on the Druids Boons (class talent) and the spirits give massive QoL and damage buffs to the class. The Druid only feels bad because of a few things. Sorc/Necro are absurdly over tuned and incredibly easy to play, and the Druid is literally missing half of its kit. Barbarian also scales hard as hell due to having more stat sticks than any other class (mega lego abuse).
there should be more points in the tree that passively buffs werebear and werewolf form. its fucking weird how little it buffs you compared to diablo 2. in diablo 2 werebear form gave like double life, +200% damage, and +140% defense. I understand it works differently in diablo 4 but the forms should still passively give more than they currently do.
there are but its currently locked out due to the druid/barbarian zones being unavailable in Beta i think. They are class mechanics just like rogue's energy points and necromancer's skeleton mod
Yeah. I mean its okay to want to be different from its predecessor. But when the design was better in the past then that starts to become the issue. Classic case of fixing something that wasnt broken just because you can…but nobody said you should 😂
The nice thing about D2 is it didn't have the builder spender system every class just had mana so you could spam which ever skill you wanted as long as you had a big enough mana pool, or some mana leech.
@@putdownthreads yeah it would. Good classes have a full mana pool that depletes when you use abilities and regens when you aren't. Bad classes have a mana pool that has to regen from damage done. Barb has to start an encounter with nothing and can only use abilities after doing damage. Druid starts with a full pool, but can't regen unless it's doing damage. In both instances, you get a horrible ebb and flow to combat that not only feels bad, but creates a weaker character. Just get rid of mana requirements for these two, focus on cooldowns and reductions to cooldowns.
I don't think Asmon remembers how difficult sorcy was in d2 before you got her geared compared to something like a necro or barb. Back in the day, developers made classes more difficult to get to the end that are more powerful than other classes as a reward for players that work hard with the class. Not saying it was the right thing to do or not, but that was their philosophy. Traditionally mages were difficult to play early on but towards the end they would be uber powerful. The druid was always a hybrid when it came to RPGs as far as caster/melee.
i know druid has problems, but i gotta say my favorite part was when asmon read the werewolf howl, how it both heals you and generates spirit solving every problem he was having and then choosing not to take it to make things look even worse for content
As far as the fundamental problem with melee is concerned, Rogue proves otherwise. You can run a pure melee build and it feels extremely good. The main problem with D4 I think for Barb and Druid are tied to it's recourses. It just feels like you don't generate recourse fast enough, and cooldowns are weirdly long. But Rogue doesn't have those problems, it's recourse can be used in different ways depending on your build and it feels really good. I don't feel like Barb and Druid are that far away from feeling great, but they really need to lower the costs and cooldowns of your feel good skills I think, or up the generators by a lot.
What’s the point of a channeling skill if it is running out in a second or two. It’s so obvious that they didn’t think it before releasing the beta and came out with that lame excuse as to why they were bad early game.
The Barb is really good, got it 25 easy, and solo'ed Butcher, however, you have to know what you're doing. Its not brainless like the Necro. Deathblow is the godsend in any build, as it will clear all mobs, hammer of the ancients is the bread and butter. My Death Hammer build does perfect...but one does have to be particular. As far as Druid goes...if you're not running Landslide and Cyclone Armor....you're gonna have a rough time. Its a glass cannon class, with terrible survivability.
@@mathatter9158 We had the same in D3 with fire bats for witch doctor, for example. You never know what endgame has in store for us - maybe there's a legendary like the Staff of Chiroptera, which reduces mana cost of fire bats by 75%.
I think Druid should be the most mobile class and they chose to make them the most versatile / everything sucks compared to the other classes. Like their attempt to change the idea of a barbarian into the most damaging / least tanky but I think that ONLY WORKS if the Barbarian has a moderately good movement option. Sorceror is what the other classes should be. Everything is balanced, perhaps some of it needs to be a little nerfed, but not by much. Rogue needs a little workd but the idea / scale of the class really works. Necromancer needs a little nerfing in some areas and buffing in a couple. The ability to move should probably be a thing but perhaps at a cost to the Necromancer. Perhaps "sacrifice a minion to take its place" or "Take a huge chunk of damage by using a corpse explosion to move in the direction indicated", which would be a sacrifice in both health and some skills depend on the Necromancer having high health to build power. But movement options are key to making a class fun. The least fun classes don't have them. Necromancer is only less fun than Sorceror because they don't have movement options.
Problem isn't that druid is terrible its that some classes are broken strong, necro and mage are nearly face roll easy, rogue from the bow build I've used is pretty good and haven't play barb yet. Druid does need work but its not as bad people say. I love how he looks up a build from ragegaming(great creators) and skips through most of the video and pretty much say they're idiots
@@Knights_of_the_Nine It isn't wrong though. The issue is Sorc/Necro damage being so insanely high that they make everything else look like complete shit. Rogue is pretty close to being that busted, but actually requires some thought in how you use your skills. Druid performs well and is balanced the same as Barbarian. The other 3 classes are just grossly overpowered.
I agree. I actually think Druid/Barb is fun because of how challenging it is, I much prefer actively having to play and think about what I'm doing compared to Necro/Sorc just face rolling everything at range. That being said Melee Rogue is OP, there's a video of a Rogue soloing a world boss in under a minute. Definitely gonna get nerfed
I feel like blizzard hasn’t done anything to combat the fact that they seemingly deleted crushing blow completely from the Druid. They removed an important part of his kit, and never compensated.
Druid is actually quite OP. People just dont know how to play it. I uploaded a gameplay video of it on my channel... this isnt some clickbait to get channel views as IDGAF about any of it. just want people to see what its about. You can pull off 15k+ crits with landslide
The damage difference is hilarious. I just run around with Twisting Blades on my Rogue oneshotting everything doing thousands of damage and never running out of resources, meanwhile Druid is struggling to clear packs with 500 damage overpowers. Pretty sure a rogue can stack up their poison DoTs to deal more DPS than a druid.
Ok so he’s not as good as the others but I made a storm Druid after farming my ace off for legendaries. I was wrecking bosses in about 10 to 15 seconds while taking no damage. Druid needs a buff but he’s not as bad as people are saying. He’s just extremely gear dependent but once he’s geared he’s come online big time.
It's playing like a D2 act 1 character that only puts 1 point in a pre-req and doesn't have a belt for mana pots. Every class except the barb quickly outgrows that phase by like level 6 or 12. I love D2 but even I wouldn't want to have that low level act 1 playstyle for many many hours with my only potential salvation being RNG legendary drops. With bad RNG you could suck all the way to level 50 when even a D2 barb is starting to pity you.
@@rotm4447 they are fun just in a different way than like elden ring or something. It’s just more about role playing a character (not everyone does this I know) Or just making fun builds that look cool and feel good. Not every genre has to be try hard sweat fest
I picked drood as first class for the free weekend event, it picks up really quickly once you get some legos. I know it needs to be quicker but I had fun with it the whole time.
It's funny that I only watched the stream for 2 hrs and went to sleep and seeing the difference between the length of this video and the other classes just made me laugh 😂😂😂
I have a level 20 druid and it was very painful. It is slow to level and doing the harder bosses takes forever. I kept hoping it gets better, but the specs don't make that much of a difference compared to other classes.
I had the same reaction after leveling up druid, it really starts slowly even worse than barbarian, but damn when it starts snowballing you actually feel it with every legendary you get. Landslide and trample one shots everything with insane crits and overpower
I started snowballing by level 9. Picked up a good landslide legendary and never looked back lmao. Was doing great AoE instagib damage and immobilization spam at 25 by the end of my run. I did a Earth/Poison vines build.
@@maxpowers4436 Not to mention people forget that every class has a unique gimmick now and not every class is using them. Barbarians aren't really using mastery to it's fullest. Necro does get book of the dead etc. But Druids CAN'T go out and do there class quest at 15. Not to mention in the full game you have access to more dungeons to craft more useful legendaries too. So like the druid questline with the spirits may impact there performance in a huge way. And we can't use it in the beta because we can't travel north to grab the level 15 quest. People seem to be ignoring we aren't using our spirits or paragon board. Or they may be getting shit drops as well. Cause like I said I cleared just fine.
@@maxpowers4436 the issue isn't being able to clear lvl 25 content. It's that every other class does it exceptionally better and with less effort. (Cept maybe barb)
It looks like druid pulverise could be good but the spirit recharge is so low that you're forced to play like a barb without the stats. If they bumped up the recharge a little bit it could become stronger and feel better to play.
I wish Blizzard doesn't listen to testers who start to crap on a character as early as at level 5 (be it Druid or Barbarian) simply because they don't instakill mobs, while completely disregarding knockback, stun, and lucky strike mechanics. Druid is literally a lucky strike machine.
I can agree here too many people just sound lazy when a early game character isn't rolling. Like this isn't POE where they lost to plot focusing too much dmg vomit no matter the class.
@@ExeErdnaYep. As a side note, I am actually surprised druid got so much hate. The guy literally had a lightning splash attack at lvl 1. You give him attack speed and survivability and you can farm mob packs pretty easily. Pretty sure streamers hate druid or barb for content, rather because of mechanics or balance.
@@Pavel-wj7gy Honestly people been overall neutral about Druid it's mainly Asmon that been loud yet it's loud in a bad way that makes him look lazy about testing the game instead of making a uber build. Now Blizzard can realize they MIGHT wanna invest into having a pet based capstone since that's looking like one of the strongest druids build for mid game.
@Tau12us R So Sharknado might not be fantasy mich longer! Now, to finish mounting these frickin laser beams to the other sharks. My bucket list will be complete.
Druid is decent at level 25, but considering the alternative is killing everything in a dungeon with 2 spells vs the druid tactic of killing everything with 4 spells it might as well not exist.
…meanwhile the necro drinks a cup of blood, leans against a tree and watches his minions slaughter that boss faster than any druid could. Cheerio, pooch.
go for landslide as core skill, ppl forget you can use that on your mouse cursor so you can range place that attack instead of being in melee all the time. So you can attack in melee and range at the same time. I didnt choose any shapeshift skill and I had fun playing the druid.
Druid, barbarian, and rogue imo are good and the ones that need a fix is the sorcerer and necromancer and the reason for that is when playing Necro or sorce it's so ez you barely have to try and yes that's cool but also makes the game so fast paced you will get max level so fast and do everything so ez that you will finish the game and will not want to play anymore. I think those three are fine and are actually balanced too the game but those two are too op for the game.
you're not supposed to balance the game around this mode. the game is an end-game grind type game so you need to focus on balance near the end of the game moreso than the beginning of the game(and to boot, it's low difficulty) ideally, you should have some challenge during normal, but a more significant amount of challenges should be during the latter difficulty modes
game becomes too easy and you wont want to play it anymore? then why do people still play Vampire surviver?,or PoE ? even when they max thier build out , the problem lays with the overall expraince with Druid and Barb, and not how fast and easy one can breeze through content, if the druid just had its numbers buffed up it still wouldnt make it plesent , sure easier to blast through content but the moment to moment gameplay is the same and the abilty loops are boring as shit thats the problem really on top of the druid just needing a buff overall to its Damage, and Resoruce managment.
Here's what the Druid's problem is. It was said on a comment on Asmongold's other video and it said that the Druid's skills that Blizzard advertised with the spirits etc are after LVL 25 which means the Druid could have some unknown potential once he gets those skills.
Druids cool, it has that Norse Odin feel to it, if you go full spell caster and bypass the shapeshifting abilities. Definitely, will need the most skill to play through. Landslide, vines and ravens are my build for this class. Pure aoe/dot/poison damage.
Does not matter.. asmon will shit on it... Every other word is just to tear down this game. There is a lot he likes but he will never let us know... Why? Idk, I guess he feels like if he likes it he will let down the wok.. er wow community lol😊😊
I know a lot of people are hating on the Druid class, but I went full bear with synergizing abilities and had no problem beating the final boss on the beta campaign. Yes it is nowhere near as fast or high damaging as the ranged classes, but that might be a tuning issue not a class issue.
I went in on it and ran Druid for first playthrough of beta and got to 20. I want to be a lightning hurling viking boi but I have to say, you are 100% correct. It sucks. mage/necro are perfect-ish. It needs a gap closer to target, much higher DPS, and no spirit gen or massively auto regenerating spirit. It just needs a LOT. You sir are 100% correct in everything you said. And that makes me sad.
blizzard must change the druid face on picking him up in the charscreen to resemble raxx when speaking about tornado... like bro you´re sure about your decision?
really hope they fix this class, it was the one i was most excited about after playing d2 remaster i really wanted them to add druid back to diablo but now it looks lackluster :(
I hope the final build of the game is different because rarely does it feel like you’re some powerful character meant to destroy evil. It feels like you’re a feral dog biting off scraps of food to barely stay alive.
The Basic skills doesnt make this class. You need legendary items to make the druid shine, also we didn't have acces to the druid special skills the spirit boons. Cause its in scolden area
I played Druid to level 25 and thought "well okay, it's a beta, it was fun enough." Then I made a Necromancer and saw the difference in damage output right off the bat and was like "wtf?"
then you realize the Necro themselves are weak HP and thier damage without minions are not good solo. one you have your minions and stuff then Necro is beast. so every class has thier low and high. Druid build with Hurricane and Torando is pretty good, but as u can see in this video he does not have that and bad outcome. yea they do need some nerfing done but not much. Necro is beast. and if ppl wanna play PVP they need to give every class an PVP STATS armor sets / skillslist like they do on MMO games.
I never bothered using pylons as a necro. I had 11 minions at lvl 25 because I got lucky and a legendary item had +2 to mage. It was so easy as a necro. I focused on the trash while my minions spanked the boss. I went after the werewolf boss and I was two levels below the dungeon when I went in. I didn't use my reapers just my standard warriors and mages. He killed almost all my pets but I still killed him. I didn't use any corpse explosion, just bone attack abilities. I was trying for a bone theme necro. Besides the monk, necro is my favorite since D2.
it should take effort to be an insane build in order to run through mobs. Druid takes effort. Most people just want ez mode and brainlessly run through mobs.
Pulverize is the top damaging ability of Druid. Combining the Legendary that has Pulverize leave an earthquake with Shred adding the poison DoT makes for some of the higher burst damage of the Druid. The issue is that at lvl 21, it took me over 4 minutes to do the final boss of Act 1.
@@Puwui Put up or shut up. Show your evidence of it or shut it. I highly doubt some nobody could figure out how to get that POS ability to work when ALL of the Diablo Pros combined couldn't.
The ‘Evade’ should be contextual by design that allows you to ‘Sprint’ for a short while by holding down the key. Thats going to be really useful in the openworld, cities and dungeons.
Those saying druid is the worst class did not play the class right or use abilities appropriately, I found druid to be quite easy and could destroy mobs like butter. Druid was alot of fun to play and I didn't need legendaries to make it good.
D L 0 seconds ago We only were able to play to 25. Druid has some of the best scaling abilities but is weak at low levels. I’m interested to see how each class is at 50 before I dismiss how good it is. We also couldn’t use the Druid class mechanic either. Unlike every other class. They need to make spirit regen though.
I mainly use werewolf and rabies ive found to be very good and i have my basic attack do poison as well and upgraded the passives for poison and i can take down mobs fairly well. Im not like an expert though, there are probably better ways to build him
Druid is absolutely fire... run the trample creepslide build with the petrification as your ultimate and it absolutely melts everything... just pop your petrification and creeper vines... trample thru the crowd and finish the elites off with slide.
Wish there was basics that favored wolf/bear respectively that you would run up to a selected enemy and slash, but you generated spirit while you ran towards enemies. Would allow you to fight and deplete spirit for 1 group and be able to recharge by the next group. Almost like if you take trample and made it a basic move, but you generated spirit entire time you were moving and attacking. Then make trample throw people aside and stun
if they do a class proper it should beable to do the starting area in plain white items and getting something higher then white items rather is a blue or better should only improve the experience aka make u progress faster the builder system is a bad idea it should be a drain and regin system like sorc for all classes
I enjoyed Druid during the beta, maybe it's worse than other classes and hopefully Blizz buffs it. I got to lvl 25 first night using tornado, and farmed up legendaries and put together a build built around pulverize, wolves, and fortify. Super tanky, smash all the monsters, and solo the Butcher on Tier 2 easily. Others have said but biggest problem is spirit, that's why I use the wind generator that gives more spirit
2:27:09 Believe it or not: There are people out there who like this gameplay and those minute-long fights against trash mobs, because "I like how challenging it is!". I think they just confuse challenge with struggle. I've even met people back in the day that removed some of their items on purpose, because they were saying "Monsters are dying too fast.". Monsters are dying too fast? In an ARPG? I can't...
@@trnovsky33 What makes you think that? I started with Diablo 1 and put thousands of hours in 2 and 3. Let me guess, you are one of those special people I was talking about, right?
It's because some people want to feel at lease a bit threatened beyond the typical way you really die in ARPG is that ALL your defensive rolls fail and you get spiked before you can react. Having to think just a bit beyond just flooding the screen with damage is interesting.
From what little I remember of Diablo 2, Druid had it tough. It was like they had a little bit of everything, but just nothing that overshadowed the others. Magic spells like a Mage, I think that fire boulder had a knock back and could summon cyclones. Poison like a Rogue with a that vine attack and quick attacks as werewolf. High Hp while in bear form and area hit like Barbarian. Necro could bring forth an army of undead, Druid had wolves and ravens. It worked, a solid character. This looks that same, but for some reason looks slower.
I had a lot of fun with Druid. I was basically zooting around the map with each werewolf slash and then dropping fat boulders on noobs. I thought it was great.

Spirit should work like Mana/Energy passivly gained and used on abilities, the fact that you have ABSOLUTE NOTHING to start combat with other than basic attack is SO Baad
The absolute downfall of the Druid is his spirit meter, and the absolute shit scaling of his level 3+ abilities. Like, wtf. And honestly, for having Barbarian movement speed, his close combat is a joke.
Anyone who's played division can catch on to the way they set up the gear in Diablo. Alot of grinding until you find the pieces that fit your build. I stayed with lightning and landslide on tier 2 oh and ravens also. The only thing it's missing and I hope they add being able to extract the 1 good spec you need on something you use. They already have us not only having to collect and dismantle every item to have for tramsmog and dismantling legendary for the main perk it has to move it
That's how we could have seen that rogue might be the best overall and then druid is more than magical barb, Since we can already see sacrifice for Necro is pointless, Sorc is fine outside of lightning and barb's arsenal is an interesting concept yet it doesn't work until they have such.
I must be absolutely terrible at this game because I felt that from 18-24 my Necro and Sorc felt VERY WEAK and I had no idea how anyone else was doing good damage. I honestly feel that every single class is weak from 15-25 and only becomes strong after 25 when they get legendries.
well, people do actually did like the druid--and he had a lot of gear choices that enhanced his play style, plus i think people just like to play a character that they see is "underestimated" but unique just because you dont enjoy this melee / buffer / healer hybrid playstyle doesn't mean others dont but, this character looks really really weak atm so def it needs some buffs. I'd rather them buff the druid than, say, nerf sorc and necromancer
@@EpicDio this is "normal" game mode(veteran is basically normal). if you aren't familiar with diablo, you wouldn't realize that the druid won't make it through higher difficulty. nightmare and hell are way more difficult than normal(or 'veteran') and the enemies will most likely completely annihilate the druid the way he is now
@@EpicDio The lack of challenge on normal is not that bad. At this point some of us have been playing way too much and achieving higher power levels due to itemization and builds. @@EpicDio Nerco starting out with 4 skels is gross and in a very short time you got 8 and by level 25 you can have 13 if not more. Sorc is more balanced than that since they want you to use sorcs whole kit instead of purposely skipping part of it.
weirdly enough playing werewolf druid all the way to 25lv and getting dem legendaries and theorycrafting was what got me interested into the game, apart from gaining too little spirit with claw, the damage isnt that bad.
I wonder if they made other classes weaker this would feel better. Like a challenge. I never played Diablo before this and Druid was most alluring to me, I had a good time even though I couldnt do that quest at 15 because of beta limits. I imagine that when I try other classes I am going to have less fun because I will be steamrolling
The melee skills need to have either movement, speed or AOE. basic skills for resource generators need to produce more, they need a buff. when a skill is suppose to help sustain either damage or life, it need to do a better job at scaling to as you continue to attack and/or as it get upgraded. For druid melee example: werewolf is unviable because the basic skill doesn't increase attack speed beyond a flat 10%, so a single hand weapon and that upgrade is the fastest you can auto attack and its slow, which effects damage output and spirit generation. Bloodhowl at max upgrade heals like 25% of health and does nothing else, that's not survivability that's not even a health potion. barb and were-druid dont have movement, generation, attack speed, survivability. The druid in particular feels like it was some devs first draft of the class.
They massacred my boy....They should have just copy pasted the Necro for Druid and just change the skills to fit druid. Start off with wolf summons and at lvl 15 you can get the oak sage at lvl 25 you get a grizzly. Some might say that's lazy but I think it would be way better than what we have here.

Classic case of fixing something that wasnt broken just because you can…but nobody said you should 😂
I'm thinking Items and the other skill tree will add to this, providing skills that will fill the spirit meter faster. This is a beta.
The nice thing about D2 is it didn't have the builder spender system every class just had mana so you could spam which ever skill you wanted as long as you had a big enough mana pool, or some mana leech.
Right. This D3 system they kept is tedious and zero fun.
That's what made fire druid so cracked he could go through most of game with one skill. Until hell...
@@GodParticleZero I much prefer this over mana. Every class having the same exact resource type would take away from the class distinction
@@putdownthreads It doesn't. Each class in Diablo 2 all use mana , and they each have a very different and unique feel to them.
"Druid is good I promise"
that's enough Forest shrooms for you
I don't think Asmon remembers how difficult sorcy was in d2 before you got her geared compared to something like a necro or barb. Back in the day, developers made classes more difficult to get to the end that are more powerful than other classes as a reward for players that work hard with the class. Not saying it was the right thing to do or not, but that was their philosophy. Traditionally mages were difficult to play early on but towards the end they would be uber powerful. The druid was always a hybrid when it came to RPGs as far as caster/melee.
maybe in the original game when there wasn't respeccing. Once that was in you just did fire till lvl 30 then Ice orb all the way thru.
i know druid has problems, but i gotta say my favorite part was when asmon read the werewolf howl, how it both heals you and generates spirit solving every problem he was having and then choosing not to take it to make things look even worse for content
yea, then he plays OP classes on easy mode and says they are broken lol
Those cooldowns are terrible though
@@lG-gz9rl the cd gets lower when u kill something so u end up spamming it
Yeah guy is full of shit
20 spirit on a 15s cooldown is literally nothing, disinformation spreader quit trying to make it sound like druid is good
Damn didn't know you could play Esfand in Diablo 4, well done OTK!
I've seen a few builds since and they are really powerful, alot of people are forgetting that these characters can only go to 25 at the mo
3months later am still trash let's not forget that Necro an mage was doing wayyy more damage at earlier stages then this trash Ben was doing at lvl25
The major difference between rogue melee and barb / druid is that the rogue has passive resource regen, where barb and druid do not.
@@vandalg282 cyclone armor ? yuck why would you take that lol He was tanky for my playthrough without that.
i am returning to this video so many times to just watch Asmon interaction with Druid every time he talk 😂😂😂, it is just gold
Gotta wonder if Blizzard tested out the druid at all
I think the Druid is the first character they designed for the game. Hahaha
They never tested sorc and necro it seems
Thumbnail made it look like he was playing the Esfand Class 🤣
He’s just extremely gear dependent but once he’s geared he’s come online big time.
i feel like this is how all characters need to be. where you actually need to fight not just hit one button and win
How many buttons do you need to press? Cool downs in arpgs suck
With bad RNG you could suck all the way to level 50 when even a D2 barb is starting to pity you.
arpgs are a trash genre though, people wont accept anything that isn't aoe clear a room every 1 second while barely paying attention.
@rotm4447 I don't think they're trash but I don't rank them as the best. Whats better in your opinion
@@rotm4447 they are fun just in a different way than like elden ring or something.
It’s just more about role playing a character (not everyone does this I know)
Or just making fun builds that look cool and feel good.
Not every genre has to be try hard sweat fest
Solo early druid not really good on dps but I bet they become most sought out class for groups insane cc and debuff capabilities
To be fair I dont want to be op from the start and just run through mobs without even thinking like in lost ark or some mobile game or something
God I hope the Druid in POE2 is much better. Looked cool in the trailer but that’s about it.
Poison werewolf, overpower bear never had any issue. People are weird
Tell me more lies
No one else asked it so I will: Can you upgrade the Druid tornado ability to incorporate sharks? If not, missed opportunity there.
now that would make it even more intresting

Maybe in the Druid spirit animal buff, that is currently not available for beta.
@Tau12us R So Sharknado might not be fantasy mich longer! Now, to finish mounting these frickin laser beams to the other sharks. My bucket list will be complete.
You can actually do some REALLLLY nasty dmg with Earth Landslide build, up to 3-6k dmg, while staying tanky and keeping Vuln on everything 24/7
Druid is decent at level 25, but considering the alternative is killing everything in a dungeon with 2 spells vs the druid tactic of killing everything with 4 spells it might as well not exist.
Play shapeshifter, you kill everything with two skills
…meanwhile the necro drinks a cup of blood, leans against a tree and watches his minions slaughter that boss faster than any druid could. Cheerio, pooch.
go for landslide as core skill, ppl forget you can use that on your mouse cursor so you can range place that attack instead of being in melee all the time.
So you can attack in melee and range at the same time.
I didnt choose any shapeshift skill and I had fun playing the druid.
Melee needs an inherent stagger element, even if very small stagger.
If you took a shot every time Asmon said some variant of "Oh my god" in this video, you'd be fucking dead.
I can see Josh Strife Hayes rating druid "Im not ready yet /10"
I actually loved the tornado build. Thought it was fun and actually quick.
Honestly, druid doesnt look too bad. I think its the other classes that are just way overtuned.
No druid sucks
looking up the "broken" youtube druid builds was fucking hilarious.
i like that when Asmongold said "let's go", some one in the chat said "don`t do it!"
he knew already.
I think those three are fine and are actually balanced too the game but those two are too op for the game.
you're not supposed to balance the game around this mode. the game is an end-game grind type game so you need to focus on balance near the end of the game moreso than the beginning of the game(and to boot, it's low difficulty)
ideally, you should have some challenge during normal, but a more significant amount of challenges should be during the latter difficulty modes
game becomes too easy and you wont want to play it anymore? then why do people still play Vampire surviver?,or PoE ? even when they max thier build out , the problem lays with the overall expraince with Druid and Barb, and not how fast and easy one can breeze through content, if the druid just had its numbers buffed up it still wouldnt make it plesent , sure easier to blast through content but the moment to moment gameplay is the same and the abilty loops are boring as shit thats the problem really on top of the druid just needing a buff overall to its Damage, and Resoruce managment.
Here's what the Druid's problem is. It was said on a comment on Asmongold's other video and it said that the Druid's skills that Blizzard advertised with the spirits etc are after LVL 25 which means the Druid could have some unknown potential once he gets those skills.
The class should be fun to play from lvl 1 ... NOT sometime after lvl 25!
@@Grubnar Yeah my thoughts exactly. Blizzard really screwed up here.
You'd have loved Druid if it was the first class you played, and then said Necromancer and Sorcerer are overpowered.
That lightning build is actually much better with certain legendary effects. Best build so far (IN THE BETA) is the pulverize while over 80 hp one
Druid class is really good. I’m running it as my class out the gate!!!
Played druid to 25 as my first class. I then leveled necro to 25. I will never play druid again.
blizzard must change the druid face on picking him up in the charscreen to resemble raxx when speaking about tornado... like bro you´re sure about your decision?
really hope they fix this class, it was the one i was most excited about after playing d2 remaster i really wanted them to add druid back to diablo but now it looks lackluster :(
I hope the final build of the game is different because rarely does it feel like you’re some powerful character meant to destroy evil.
The issue is that at lvl 21, it took me over 4 minutes to do the final boss of Act 1.
no its not... tornado will easily melt any boss in less than 10 seconds.

We only were able to play to 25. Druid has some of the best scaling abilities but is weak at low levels. I’m interested to see how each class is at 50 before I dismiss how good it is. We also couldn’t use the Druid class mechanic either. Unlike every other class. They need to make spirit regen though.
I feel like Blizz released the class like this on purpose for the beta. that way they can look like heroes when they address it at game launch
I started with druid. I ended.....not with druid.
I made a werewolf and found it to be very effective stacking poisons. I didn’t try the caster builds because I’m just a casual these days😢
I mainly use werewolf and rabies ive found to be very good and i have my basic attack do poison as well and upgraded the passives for poison and i can take down mobs fairly well. Im not like an expert though, there are probably better ways to build him
I swear to God man that druid looks like Esfand 😂
Druid is absolutely fire... run the trample creepslide build with the petrification as your ultimate and it absolutely melts everything... just pop your petrification and creeper vines... trample thru the crowd and finish the elites off with slide.
Give druids a permanent +10% movement speed buff and Asmon will play it forever
that's why you take the ranged basic with movement speed buff
Wish there was basics that favored wolf/bear respectively that you would run up to a selected enemy and slash, but you generated spirit while you ran towards enemies. Would allow you to fight and deplete spirit for 1 group and be able to recharge by the next group. Almost like if you take trample and made it a basic move, but you generated spirit entire time you were moving and attacking. Then make trample throw people aside and stun
idk why but i feel Druids look like "Americans in Walmart" in the char select screen
if they do a class proper it should beable to do the starting area in plain white items and getting something higher then white items rather is a blue or better should only improve the experience aka make u progress faster
the builder system is a bad idea it should be a drain and regin system like sorc for all classes
In an ARPG? I can't...
you never played d2 right or d1
Did the devs not think about how it feels to be melee in D4?
didnt watch the video but whoa whoa whoa i had so much fun playinng the druid in the beta, was I the only one?

Spirit should work like Mana/Energy passivly gained and used on abilities, the fact that you have ABSOLUTE NOTHING to start combat with other than basic attack is SO Baad
Yeah whomever thought that it shouldn't passively regen is kinda dumb.
The absolute downfall of the Druid is his spirit meter, and the absolute shit scaling of his level 3+ abilities. Like, wtf. And honestly, for having Barbarian movement speed, his close combat is a joke.
As someone who enjoys 1shoting enemies and/or big aoe on hordes this is challenging to cope
They already have us not only having to collect and dismantle every item to have for tramsmog and dismantling legendary for the main perk it has to move it
You do realize you can stack thorns on the Druid as well, right? It may not have any passive buffs, but if that’s your defense on barbarian ….
Before beta ended I got a druid to level 12 to see how bad, I spec in to lightning and it was too bad
Why they didnt let every class get their specialization thing in beta is beyond understanding…
That's how we could have seen that rogue might be the best overall and then druid is more than magical barb, Since we can already see sacrifice for Necro is pointless, Sorc is fine outside of lightning and barb's arsenal is an interesting concept yet it doesn't work until they have such.
Druid is top tier, you just have to use the lightning pylon.
I must be absolutely terrible at this game because I felt that from 18-24 my Necro and Sorc felt VERY WEAK and I had no idea how anyone else was doing good damage. I honestly feel that every single class is weak from 15-25 and only becomes strong after 25 when they get legendries.
well, people do actually did like the druid--and he had a lot of gear choices that enhanced his play style, plus i think people just like to play a character that they see is "underestimated" but unique
just because you dont enjoy this melee / buffer / healer hybrid playstyle doesn't mean others dont
but, this character looks really really weak atm so def it needs some buffs. I'd rather them buff the druid than, say, nerf sorc and necromancer
The druid is balanced with the game, sorc and necro are not.
@@EpicDio this is "normal" game mode(veteran is basically normal). if you aren't familiar with diablo, you wouldn't realize that the druid won't make it through higher difficulty. nightmare and hell are way more difficult than normal(or 'veteran') and the enemies will most likely completely annihilate the druid the way he is now

bit of a rant but really, just run through the game and have fun doing what build you want on what character you want..that's what NORMAL (or vet) is for, so I think best build/class combos feeling very powerful is probably a good thing
@@EpicDio Nerco starting out with 4 skels is gross and in a very short time you got 8 and by level 25 you can have 13 if not more. Sorc is more balanced than that since they want you to use sorcs whole kit instead of purposely skipping part of it.
i made the massive mistake of starting with necro. every other class felt so fckn bad afterwards
weirdly enough playing werewolf druid all the way to 25lv and getting dem legendaries and theorycrafting was what got me interested into the game, apart from gaining too little spirit with claw, the damage isnt that bad.
Well druid just needs more 🪵 wood.
Then the player can whittle something while the sorcerer clears the dungeons.
So Druids are strong beefy persians. ok, im sold.
