You can check the best offer prices on 130 point since ebay is terrible at transparency. For example the Superman II listing was $1200 but sold for $500 and the Jurassic Park listing was $2000 but sold for $1000.

Thanks for that, Ethan! I will try to let people know they can use that site if they want to know what it sold for in a best offer situation. It's just an extra step that I didn't feel was necessary when I'm covering a lot of items and getting a quick snapshot of the market.

When you mentioned VHS grading in a previous video I made sure to buy one of my childhood favorite trilogies in Indiana Jones. They are still dirt cheap (probably due to mass producing) but I find it amazing that people have 80s movies in pristine sealed condition still. They only want like

Awesome, TCG! That sounds like a great pick-up. Who knows, maybe the supply isn't all that high when it comes to them being sealed and also in high grade. At this point, the market seems inefficient still, so it will be interesting to see where things stand once CGC graded tapes are hitting the market en masse! I am also waiting for CGC before I grade my tapes. I have a feeling they will be able to do really well in the space, especially being so established already.

@@FranklyCollecting Hopefully CGC being a larger scale company with many different items being graded can reduce the price of grading. It seems like these other companies are charging around $65/tape.

@@TCGCOLLECTOR1 I wouldn't doubt it. CGC has had super reasonable pricing with their trading card division. Think they are wiling to be competitive in pricing to gain momentum and market share.

Maybe its all the late 80's early 90's people that are into vhs collecting. I am 33 and watched a decent amount of VHS movies growing up, Also I have gone through a good amount of storage lockers and I can tell you its hard to find VHS's that are in good condition. Let alone new.

I bet, Barrot! It will be interesting to see how much or how little the supply grows over time. I grew up with VHS tapes and definitely see the appeal of graded ones.

These prices are wild! There is definitely too much crypto money flying around 😂
Btw. Even though it says 'or best offer' unless it has a strike through it, it would have sold for that price. The 'or best offer' just indicates that the seller offered best offer but the buyer essentially bought it outright. I find this a little suspicious though as I struggle to believe a buyer wouldn't have offered £2750 for example (which surely would have been accepted too?). I'm wary of this market but it is fascinating!

Thanks for clarifying that, Dungeons! Yea, I don't understand why buyers don't try to make a reasonable offer in those cases unless there's huge competition from other buyers. It will definitely be interesting to see how this market plays out in the future.
