Britt, Thanks for your viewpoint! I always take away something new from your well researched presentations. My local AD (Philadelphia, PA, USA) laughed when I inquired when they might start displaying Rolex watches again. I refuse to purchase other watches just to be placed on their waitlist. Chrono 24 and my local Omega AD who have new watches in stock are looking better each day. 😃
It doesn’t actually matter. No matter how much watch nerds go nuts for it. It’s a mass produced brand and the general aspirational buyer will be number 1. Well, unless you want it in solid gold or platinum. Then we can talk

Totally agree on the aluminum bezel. I love the metallic sheen on the red portion of my GMT Coke. I realize that the Pepsi is the more iconic of the two, but I like how the black portion of the bezel matches the black dial.
Wouldn't it be nice if they would make it possible to just buy a Rolex model that you want whenever you want it 🤔 But seeing all those vintage models in your video makes me want a vintage one more than a new one 😊 Cheers Britt, hope you are having a great weekend🎉
How about Rolex, bringing back the experience, that when I walk into an AD, with my hard earned cash, the watch I want, is actually available, without having to justify why I want to wear it, and beg some piss ant AD employee, to give Rolex my money. I know I’m asking for a lot here.
The “claim” is that the bubble has burst and we will return to what you desire. Personally, when I can walk in to any AD and buy whatever I want I will believe it
A rectangular/square watch. JLC and Cartier have that market to themselves but Rolex producing a sporty oystercase that isn’t round would be a real shock and might even force JLC to reduce the price of the Reverso.
I was told about a little less than a year likely for a celly dial… but just picked up a glashutte original sixties chronograph. The limited edition one for this year. Really pumped… should tie me over until we see the celebration dial hahah.
I would LOVE to see a Rolex perpetual calendar. Most think moon phase is pointless but it’s my favorite complication. Even an annual calendar with moon phase would be nice
Huh, I can't believe I never heard of the MIdas! It's really hard to imagine them ever getting that creative. But they're struggling to meet demand as it is, any experimentation would just take away from that now. With that said, maybe Tudor could make something like a Midas once the Black Bay hype balances out! The Royal is already pretty close to the Oysterquartz but mechanical!
Nobody: Britt: I heard you guys really love Rolex (apparently 😂) Tbvh, just do whatever brand/topic that interests you - even for arguably hyped brands, I always love to hear your takes on them since I get to learn abit more.
I think the original case was 28mm. I think 32 might be a better spot. Since it’s made out of gold weight and wearability could become an issue. Also you don’t (or at I don’t) want to wear a bar of anything on my wrist. Full disclosure I hate large watch dials. I will not get anything over 36. At least I haven’t yet , so I “only” have 20 million or so watches to choose from.
You know what would make sense? An Explorer or Explorer II in solar quartz. Probably will happen at the same time Seiko issues an analog Alpinist in solar quartz, but you never know.
I would like the new explorer 40mm in full gold, and why not with jubilee bracelet? In fact i think that for the price of a rolex we could ,as customer, choose the bracelet we wants, the size, the crown and not being so limited...
The VTNR does NOT use a new case. It’s the exact same case as all the other GMTs. The only differences are the printing on the dial and the printing on the date wheel.

Hi just started watching your videos and really enjoying them. Random question- have you seen GOS watches from Sweden? I just saw the Sarek Frost in Denver and thought it was stunning and unique. Would love to get thoughts on the brand. Cheers!
Didn’t they patent a new perpetual calendar last yr? If so it would fit in with the 1908, as it has small seconds dial. Steel sub on oyster flex, not only available for gold models
Steve McQueen's main daily was the 5512 with the 4 lines of text. That's the one he's wearing in most pictures but I did hear 👂 he owned a 5513 aswell. I can't stand when people call the Explorer 2 the Steve McQueen like you said he never wore an Explorer 2
The only one I disagree with you on is the Coke: they are absolutely bringing that back, though probably only after they discontinue the Pepsi (again). There's just way too much demand for it, i.e. way too much money to be made. I'd love for them to bring back the Datograph but the trouble is that they already have, they just made it sportier to suit the times and renamed it "Yachtmaster". Lastly, the King Midas is fugly and I'm glad that they're certain to never make it again.
There was a period when just about every manufacturer that made chronographs had a triple calendar model using a Valjoux 72C. Nothing really exceptional about the Rolex version, besides the name they've made for themselves since. The contemporary Heuers for one were just as nice.
This was a really fun one, thanks. It gets you thinking about crazy watch ideas. Normally you don't think of Rolex when the subject of crazy comes along, but that Celebration dial, the Emoji Abomination (my name for it)? Maybe they'll hire someone under 50 who'll be unsupervised in front of a 3-D printer? That would be interesting.
Whenever I see those videos I am thinking about how people get to afford luxury watches with like a normal job and salary. Just saving for a lot of time or is there a specific strategy?
I think the Midas is inspired by the Parthenon (the Greek building), not the Pantheon. I’d love to see Rolex making the Jubilee available on more sport models, and I’d love a chronograph without the screw-down pushers!
The red Submariner already exists, it's the Black Bay! Rolex seems to have designated red for the Tudor line, green for Rolex. It's fine to overlap for half a GMT bezel, but when full on, that seems to be Tudor's realm. I still think the coke GMT is coming back too. Tudor doesn't do the really modern GMTs with ceramic bezels. It would be a pretty different product like the Black Bay GMT differs from the modern GMT Master (contradicting myself a little here, as the Black Bay and Submariner feel much closer than the respective GMTs). My suspicion is that Rolex simply hasn't been able to successfully make a red/black ceramic bezel. No one else has done it either. If they can get over that technical hurdle, then I bet it'll be back in a big way. I also think that the King Midas will be back at some point, and I wouldn't even be surprised to see it soon. Rolex is moving upmarket and wants to sell more gold. But no one wants to buy their full gold pieces other than the day date, so they drop in the secondary market. This would be one that people actually want, fit current trends, drive a huge amount of hype, and provide them a huge margin, highly desirable model. It's worlds away from their rather bland attempts at dressy watches.
Rolex just needs to slim their (Tutor) pro and you have your Steve McQueen. I own one, stunning to look, at but it doesn’t get much wrist time, because of the thickness. The small 39 mm diameter and the T-Fit clasp really helps its wearability but it’s still too thick.
@@TheBloodCrazed Steve McQueen never wore a Rolex Explorer 2. He only wore a Rolex Submariner 5512 and 5513 along with the Hanhart. There is no proof of him owning anything else

The Milsub. I'd love to see a Milsub again. The arrowhead second hand, broadsword hour hand, fully graduated bezel in alumin(i)um, no date complication.
I don't ever want to see Rolex go back (re-issues). I think that it's beneath them and not in keeping with their brand. I appreciate the slight nods to the past but keep it moving forward. I know that get a lot of shit for being too austere but I can't help but think about that old saying "if Henry Ford would have asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse". I personally think that the red bezel Sub is dumb. As you pointed out , the color red is not part of their brand identity and TBH every time someone brings it up it just feel like a Rolex fanboy saw a red bezel black dial diver and liked it but didn't bother with it because it wasn't a Sub. I have always loved the king Midas but I think that if they were ever going to redo it, it would have been 1.5 to 2 years ago at the height of the 1970's vintage vibes craze. Lastly I didn't like seeing the Milligauss leave but I really hate the idea of the the YM2's movement (4161) being lost to time. I just think it's too interesting of a movement to never see again.

I would like to see them implement the green sapphire crystal from the most recent Milgauss (RIP Milgauss) references into some other kind of watch. Also, Oyster case needs to be reworked and updated, made out of materials like carbon fiber or ceramic for their "sports" watch lines. A carbon fiber Explorer on an OysterFlex would look really nice.
The problem with Rolex is that the brand has become so thoroughly ensconced in people's consciousness as synonymous with luxury and prestige for so long that Rolex no longer has to innovate or think outside of a rigid formula to compete with other brands. Also want to see some new DJ anniversary dials for 2025 since they discontinued the fluted-motif and palm-motif this year. bring back the milgauss in the newer airking case and movement. stick a moonphase complication in the 1908.
Explorer II white 40mm case!
The watch is very interesting
As long as we are talking wish list… A 41MM white gold GMT with black and not-so-bold numbers bezel, gold 24 hour hand and glide-link bracelet. Rolex?
Nice choice.
No Gmt master coke ,good for me I have the original one😍😍😍
