Thanks for getting this review out ASAP. I've been waiting for this bag with baited breath! Loved to hear more about how well it handles water and the challenges you had in getting those straps in and out....
Thank you for your review, the first one on RUclips for this bag I think. I'm really thinking about buying this one, and you gave me a much better look at it than their website. I'm looking forward to see another in depth look at it. I subscribed to not miss it if it comes. 🖖
Would love to see a review of the AEL 021 GPH, the office one, I can't finde ant detailed info about it, even in their page you don't get to see detailed photos of the backpack! Nice review!! Keep em coming
Great review!! I am thinking about buying this one or the boundary right next to it, which I love the look and the way it opens up in the middle. I also considert the boundary errant, as you have both (unfortunately not the errant yet) which one would you recommend? Id like smtg for daily use work+gym kind of stuff.. I guess the Alchemy looks more sleek. Would be very nice to see them in your back. Next video do that and if possible tell how tall you are :) just to have an idea of size.. Thanks !
Awesome first look video! When is the real review dropping? really waiting on your opinion about the AEL222 before buying. please let me know when it is coming
Great review. I'm having the hardest time deciding between this bag and the boundary supply errant bag. Itll be my primary school bag for my laptop, binder, soft pencil case, and small gadgets like charger/cables. This bag is about triple the price of the errant but I'm sure it makes up for it in quality and just how great it looks. It's been about a month now, are you still happy with it for a daily carry? Any new peeves about the bag?
It’s out of season so I’m not riding, or carrying my usual everyday carry items. But I’m very happy with it. High quality materials everywhere, for better or worse. Zippers are still tough, unfortunately. Few other minor things I have my eye on for the long term.
So, you are rocking a Kryptonite lock and a MW tool roll. You strike me as a cyclist kinda guy. How well would this bag fare for cycling, specifically for more aggressive riding positions as on a road bike. The bag seems pretty tall, so I'm interested whether it interferes during cycling (like hitting the back of my head or pushing into my neck). Thx for your review mate!
Hello! I do ride to work as often as I can. I use risers, so my position is a bit more upright. I know exactly what you mean about tallness, the only bag that gave me that issue was the larger version of The North Face Access backpack, which is why I went for the smaller one. This bag does not give me any problems with that. The U-lock fits perfectly if I lower the side zipper about halfway. I do wish it had a latch point for my rear light, but it just so happens that the folds of the lower pocket happen let my light slide onto it, so it kind of works. I posted a pic a few days ago on RUclips , maybe it’ll still show up.
I am torn between getting the AEL222 or the Prima System... which one would you recommend? The only thing I don't like about the AEL222 is the lack of organization for small office items and acessories.
I’d recommend them both, they’re good bags. You gotta figure out which one can suit your carry items better. Prima can expand a bit, has that little tablet sleeve with a few organization loops/pockets. Both are great though.
It’s been mostly sitting around. I’ve been working from home since 2020 (…jeez). Don’t really commute anymore. The fabric faded a bit, surprisingly. Direct sunlight for too long I suppose. Still works fine, but hasn’t been used much.
The biggest differences I can see: the 222 has a side pocket, zip water bottle sleeve instead of elastic, a leather wrap around the rubber carry handle and orange interior. Only worth the extra $100 if those few things matter to you. They do make the bag experience better, but $100 is a little ridiculous.
Thanks for this great video. Lots of very good point that I haven't thought about in my Quicklook. Cheers, Bo
Hey, Bo! Big fan of your channel, thanks for checking out my video.

Great video! Thanks so much for sharing. And kudos for being the first 'first impression' on RUclips. ;)

Same here. It looks great but you learn zilch from the website.

Weather has just started to reach riding temps (low 30s). So I just started riding again. Maybe 2-3 weeks.
Waiting for the full review until I decide whether to buy this. EUR 300 is quite an investment but this bag does look interesting.
Thanks for the review. Do you have one for the AEL013 MINIMALIST DAYPACK?
This is the only Alchemy pack that I own. If I own it I have a video about it, feel free to browse my channel. Thanks for watching!
great review as always. thanks!

Was about to purchase the 5.11 AMP 24 when I saw this...the cost though...argh...I can't decide.
Has your bag turned pink over the time?
Hello it’s a nice review
Yesterday I try to pull the zip in the shop but it’s quiet hard to pull
Does it happens the same on your alchemy equipment?
They’re not the smoothest zippers I’ve ever used, I did mention it in the video. They can be pretty difficult to use.
Can you give me the big difference between de AEL022 and the AEL222 ?
I don’t own the AEL022.

@@HumorousMaximus Thanks for your quick answer. This bag is definitely worth considering.

@@HumorousMaximus What do you think of the AEL222 so far since the release of this video?
would you recommend this, the prima or the errant?
After 5 years how’s the bag holding up?
It’s been mostly sitting around. I’ve been working from home since 2020 (…jeez). Don’t really commute anymore. The fabric faded a bit, surprisingly. Direct sunlight for too long I suppose. Still works fine, but hasn’t been used much.
Do you happen to know what the differences are between this and the AEL022? Seems to be the same bag but with a $100 price difference.
I don’t. Their website is extremely bare-bones. If it wasn’t for the Carryology website, the AEL222 would’ve remained a mystery to me.
Hi man, I'm searching for very long one of those AEL222 in mint condition, are you interested in selling yours? Nice video! Thanks :)
Nope. Thanks for watching 👍🏼.
How long did shipping take?
whats the other bag in the background mate?
Boundary supply prima system
Tbh, I'm a little bit disappointed when carryology decided to let alchemy give those handle bar a go. Since they knew better about backpack aesthetic.
Considering how amazing the rest of the bag is, the handle barely makes a dent in my overall enjoyment of the bag.
You right, but you can always install a better handle, go to a professional.
well done
