  • In this video we cycle a 360 circuit of Loch Ness starting form Drumnadrochit. We picked up our rental cycles the day before from Ticket To Ride in Inverness. On day 1 we cycle on the Great Glen Way to Fort Augustas. On day 2 we cycle from Fort Augustas to Foyers. The first part of this section is a tough climb. We tried a couple of alternative routes but in the end kept returning to the original route.
On day 3 we set off from Foyers to Inverness. At Inverfarigaig we decided to take an alternative route as I had seen the NCR78 Loch Side route before. This turned out to be the highlight of the trip. What a stunning road the B862 turned out to be and almost traffic free. Arriving at Inverness we chilled out in a cafe then checked in. After showers and changing we strolled around this wonderful city.
On Day 4 we set off from Inverness back to Drumnadrochit via the Great Glen Way. along the way we stopped off at Abriachan Eco Cafe and Campsite. we met the lovely owners of this off grid establishement and had some great food. This is a must if your on this route. After a downhill section throught he forest we dropped back onto the A82 and into Drumnadrochit.
Ticket to Ride is the best cycle hire in the area. Check them out at:

Thanks Sam, it's amazing to see our bikes out on adventures. We usually only see them in the workshop!

No - thank you. The cycles and luggage performed faultlessley. Your guys set them up exactly as we liked and nothing was too much trouble for them. You have a great crew there!

You can easily and safely cycle from Inverness to Dores on the B862. Are you bringing or renting a cycle?

Was wondering, how long did it ultimately take you to do the ride?

Hi Jeffrey. It was 4 days of cycling in total. Obviously we needed to fsctor in travel time there and back and a rest day. It was a holiday after all and we wanted to enjoy it as a nice break from work and stress etc.
