Taylor Momsen rocks. And when she said that there are not so many bands who can sing live good, she wanted to say that most of the artists do not sing live. She didn't say that she is the greatest, she's just proud of her music because she knows that not everyone can write and sing like that. And i love her.
I just think we all forget she just turned 16, because she looks (and tries to look) so old and mature. But she's just a teenager, and I think that's why she's doing this, and dressing and talking like this. She's just trying to figure out who she is. If she was anonymous, an ordinary high school girl, no one would say it's just an act or a fake attitude. She changed a lot in one year because she's growing up!
I dont think shes changed, i think shes has always been this rocker taylor, but she hasnt been able to express herself till now, now she has freedom and she is alittle bit older, imagine a 13 year old dressing that way, especially in hollwood.now she doesnt give a shit. i absolutely ADORE her, i think she is real and down to earth, and just overall amazing
@leanrun4 I think that at the point that this interview took place, Taylor had written all of the songs by herself that were going to be on the record. However, after being signed, the label wanted her sound to be a bit different I guess so she co-wrote new songs with the band. Those are the songs that are on the album. That's why she used to sing all different songs than the ones on the record.
shez not conceited at all wtfff and she did write the whole record- lyrically. yes, she wouldve had help with editing the music n stuff, ofc cause itz her first album and she was only 15 here, but she wrote- literally wrote the whole record. and shez an intelligent young lady and so underestimated by people too stupid to see that she's a prodigal genius. go taylor! and, fyi, she's NOT poprock at all wf the veronicas are, but this girl is plain hard-rock.
i like her and all but its kinda annoying how she KEPT saying "rock" and how much she loves it and also i AM not saying shes fake i just think its weird how about a year ago i NEVER once heard her talk the way she does in this interview shes changed ALOT!
@leanrun4 Lol, you're making assumptions. I really doubt that for someone who's been making music their (practically) entire life and claims that music IS their life would only write a few words. I'd consider her a rather bright person compared to most 17 year old girls in North America. She seems to be a very literate person despite her acting career having to do something with that.
@beccaboox33 Eh, no. Smoking can ruin your voice but that's not certain. Look at Noel and Liam of Oasis. Liam had the better voice in the start of their success, but over time it deteriorated. Noel smokes just as much if not more and his only got better with age, his voice is brilliant today and he still smokes.
I find it strange that she said that the album was done and just needed to be produced, yet the songs on the album are completely different from the songs that they would perform on stage. Did no one catch that? All the songs she sang on stage are not on Light Me Up. Personally I'm not surprised because I never liked how the pretty reckless came about. It's a very manufactured band. They revolve around her image to get popularity for the band.
LoliJuku 8 you missed something here. If you hadn’t noticed, the members are different too. In 2009, when Taylor was making her first album, she was in a more pop direction. In 2010 she met Kato and Ben. The members changed and the songs changed because she didn’t want the 2009 songs to be realised. They’re two different records. She does music more for herself. If you don’t like the band then fine, everyone can have their own opinions but you should know what you’re talking about. Taylor and Ben both write the entire records. It’s not manufactured. They care about the music and fans, that’s it’s. If they only cared about popularity then Taylor would be using her acting career to get her music seen, but she’s not. She actually doesn’t want to be asked about it, she doesn’t want to use it to get fame. “The goal isn’t to get famous, it’s be successful.” That’s not a direct quote but that’s something Taylor has said in an interview.
@Wenindoubtukisscraig Haha, that may be right. To be honest, I only like her because she's hot, can sing and play guitar, and likes Oasis. My channel is proof of it lol. But oh well, she's young, Liam Gallagher was the same way. You might say she's a wannabe, making her fake. But Liam was accused of being an Ian Brown and John Lennon wannabe and he turned out just fine. Their music is legendary and saved rock ' n' roll in the 90s. Her music isn't the greatest, but it's better than Lady Gaga
haha exactly. And she was so obnoxious with the whole "Don't call me that" I mean I like her music, and I think it's pretty good, but she's sounds so arrogant

I missed her hair being like that.

and how do you know she didn't write the whole record?Do you Know Taylor personally?I don't think so
shes changed so much, i dunno whether i like this taylor. i perfer the taylor from like a year ago.
I agree, especially when she said "I wrote the entire record" she seemed very stuck up
Does she mean she penned some lyrics or she actually wrote it - like instruments and all? I'm not so sure. She doesn't know what she's talking about.
the interview makes me pissed off

I don't think she should be compared to... Scarlet Johansson... they're so different.
sheesh, they're talking so fast ;D

@beccaboox33 Yeah and you really don't know wtf you're talking about.
i love her so much, but she comes across very full of herself in this interview :/
she seems a little full of herself.
