When I removed my rear wheel on my CB500X I managed without loosening the chain adjusting bolts.1:50 all I did was to slacken the axle bolt and move the alloy plate out to allow the rear wheel to move forward enough to remove the chain. The bike looks good with spoked alloy wheels.
Being a novice mechanic this tutorial made sense. I will definitely refer to this when adjusting my 500x’s chain. Thank you for taking the time to do this Sven.
your videos always seem to pop up! and im glad they do! really informative and easy to follow , as i also own a Cb500x 19, and its not easy to find many clips online keep it up!
With the motorcycle lift, how do you secure the bike to prevent tipping over? I see just a block of wood for the front tire. I just gave the rear tire lift, so I’m trying to figure out the safe way to go. Thank u.
Hi Sven. Do you think you could also make a video about cleaning the countershaft sprocket ? That would help me personally a lot since I failed to put down the sprocket cover due to the side stand cable somehow attached to the plastic cover and tightly placed between the engine and the pipes. Thanks
Anbefaler TKC80 fra Continental. Det er trygge dekk i alle situasjoner, våt/tørr asfalt og off road/grus. Var meget fornøyd. Men ikke forvent mer en 6-7000 km fra et sett.
Hi - thanks for your great videos. Just curious: how would you go about these tasks if you are on a trail? Do. you carry some sort of liftstick, or do you lay the bike down on its side? Or do you carry a small jack? Thanks!
@@tubelesschannel Hi Sven - thanks for the reply. My understanding is that plugs will be fine in most cases, but there is a (small?) risk of unseating the bead when you get a flat, and then you need to remove the tire, or have a bead setter. I'm planning for a future trip up the Dempster highway in Yukon and Northwest Territories, Canada. This unpaved highway is around 1000 km. I hear that it is very tough on tires. Like you, I have tubeless TKC 80s and have a plug repair kit, but I am also contemplating taking equipment for any scenario, including inner tubes and tire irons, etc., in case of sidewall damage, etc.
Hi Sven... cush drive is mounted without screws ? you just pressed it down? because axel secures it, right? btw can you provide us link for your Motorcycle lifter and Torque wrench that you used if you bought it online... thx, ride safe!
The sprocket carrier just pushes in to the cush drive, no screws because it needs to be able to rotate freely just a bit, only as much as the cush drive dampening effect allows.
To be more precise: It is possible , but you should secure center stand so it not collapsing when pushing rear wheel forward, and you will have to secure front from falling down when removing front wheel. Put something between engine and floor for example and a rope to secure centre stand in position.
Hi, Sven!thank you for your video!I have honda cb500x, 2018 and already pass 15000km.Can you write what wheels (brand) do you have (i mean for the highway)? Are they noisy when you ride on the highway? 200km before i have changed my wheels from stock (dunlop) to michelin pilot road 2 and i found them very noisy.I really cant drive because this terrible sound disappointed me.I have checked everything that i could-all systems working good.......and no one wheel review show this problem with model of wheels, i really want to know, is it okey and it is feature or i really have some technical troubles.thank you for answer.
thank you for your unswerving! Maybe it is because we have low quality roads in Ukraine - where i have been living. Anyways this noise sound like from track wheels, hope I haven’t any technicals issues with my bike. Have a nice day!
seni türkiye den severek takip ediyorum. çok güzel bir garajın var. ayrıca çok şanslısın ki bu motora sahipsin. malesef honda türkiyeye bu modeli getirmiyor. keşke bu model türkiye de satılsa.

Hello, good afternoon, mate, I would like to replace my alloy wheels with spokes, could you guide me on which ones to put? since already thank you very much! good job!

Will try that next time !
I was asking about how u were able to pick the bike up without a skid plate
Not your first rodeo. Cheers for the clear and concise video.
Thanks for your feedback :-)

Last one is especially important. But thanks for video, really love how CB500X looks on those spoked wheels and aggressive tires.
your videos always seem to pop up! and im glad they do! really informative and easy to follow , as i also own a Cb500x 19, and its not easy to find many clips online

Good video, Sven. I'm sure this will help out a lot of people.
Hope that, thanks :-)
Admiring our work...you know us mechanical types well! Good video.
Haha, yes we love to do that :-)
Good job Sven, taking my rear off tomorrow, your vid helps.
Good to hear that ! Thanks for watching
Nice and detailed tutorial. I like so much this kind of videos. Thanks a lot.
Great! Handy to know on mine
Well done, excellent tutorial Sven. !!!
Thanks
Nice lift and very informative and detailed
Glad you liked it!
Great job and the X looks very cool with this tires and wheels. 👍✌
GS a great bike, but this is better in my opinion. Safe, happy travels 👍
this lessens my anxiety, i was looking at the tires and was like where do I start, doesn't seem to difficult
Amazing. Should be standard from Honda
Nice 👍👍👍But - why no drive on each wheel - if you anyway swich betwern them 🤔
Nice! Sure is handy video to keep in fav.
Nice music too btw 🙂
Great tutorial! 😀👍🇵🇹

Hi Sven, great video, thanks. What is the make of the hydraulic lift you have?
Thanks, I bought it at Biltema
2:47. Hey Sven. Does that Rally Raid Wheel have a inner tube inside it or is it tubeless?
Yes I opted for the tubeless option....You may choose when ordering.
@@tubelesschannel Awesome. That's great news imo. Easier to repair . Thanks
Now look like African Twin baby!!! 💪
Yes :-)
Great video.
Nice wheels.
How does the bike behave?
The steering feels very natural, easy to turn in and follow your intended curve easily and precise. Will try it a lot on gravel this summer
With the motorcycle lift, how do you secure the bike to prevent tipping over? I see just a block of wood for the front tire. I just gave the rear tire lift, so I’m trying to figure out the safe way to go. Thank u.
Hi I have straps up in the roof to secure it. Very important to secure as you also suggest ! Thanks for watching :-)
Nice tutorial. Where did you get the spare brake rotors?
partzilla.com
@@tubelesschannel Nice, thanks for your quick reply.
This Rally Raid set up is so cool.. if the bike just had another 10 hp and a little more top end smoothness it would be perfect for me
Agree would be fun with a little bit more power, even if it is not required when doing off road.
@@tubelesschannel if I was 3 inches taller I would have one if the Tenere 700s surely 👏
Thank you Sven! 👍

I am not going to do that sorry. My CB500X is sold to my brother so I have no access to it on a regular basis.
What wheels and tires did you buy and install? They look fantastic!
Rally Raid Products in UK sold them :-)
Hej Sven, vart köpte du dessa fälgar? Är det samma mått som original fälgarna? Mvh
Hej, jeg kjøpte dem hos Rally Raid Products i England. De er litt smalere enn original men samme diameter (19 framme 17 bak)...
Hei. Fine videoer du lager. Mange fine turer og gode tips. Hva slags grus dekk bruker du?
Selv har jeg en NC750X og er svært fornøyd med den

Sven Olsen takk for raskt svar. Har du noe erfaring med Metzler Turance?
Probably too late to ask this question but the wheel space with the collar goes on the sprocket side correct?
The largest diameter collar goes on the sprocket side yes :-)
Sven where did you got the rims and hiw much)

can you just buy the hubs? please let me know i want to buy just the hubs. where can i buy it?
You probably could, contact Rally Raid Products in the UK.
Where can i buy those rim set for my cb500x?

Great vid. What size is the front axle recessed hex bit? 14? Thanks
The nut on the right fork leg is 19....I think the hex bolt on the left is a 14mm. 👍🏻
@@DC-dl6sm yes thats correct, the hex is 14 mm the one that goes into the axel :-)
What's the price of the new wheels?. I mean without the tires. And from where did you buy them?
Rally Raid Products. They have a webshop where they are listed. :-)
Hi - thanks for your great videos. Just curious: how would you go about these tasks if you are on a trail? Do. you carry some sort of liftstick, or do you lay the bike down on its side? Or do you carry a small jack? Thanks!
No need to change the wheels when on a trail as my wheels is for tubeless tires. I carry an electric 12V pump and a set of plugs to plug punctures :-)
@@tubelesschannel Hi Sven - thanks for the reply. Hi Sven. Where are put lifter? It is at the oil pan?
yes under the rally edition skid plate which is strong enough and flat enough
Good job💪
Thanks
Hi. Nice video, but I would have put some grease on both axles before mounting the new wheels.
Agree but I change so often its always grease there...
Sven where to buy such wheels?
I bought mine at Rally Raid Products in the UK
Do you also do your own tire change and balancing? If so can you make a video about that :)?
Already done you will find them here on my channel
Hi Sven... cush drive is mounted without screws
? you just pressed it down? because axel secures it, right? btw can you provide us link for your Motorcycle lifter and Torque wrench that you used if you bought it online... thx, ride safe!
Didn't buy that online...lifter at "Biltema", and wrench at "Mekonomen" here in Norway
The sprocket carrier just pushes in to the cush drive, no screws because it needs to be able to rotate freely just a bit, only as much as the cush drive dampening effect allows.
Nice wheels,is that a white power shock ?
Its a Tractive shock, bought from Rally Raid, part of the suspension upgrade.
How much time do you use to change front and rear, without being in a hurry ?
about 30 minutes med litt skitprat innimellom :-)
@@tubelesschannel Very good. I'm good at that ;-)
@@SenderistaNoruego that's counted in :-D
Are those tubeless already
The OEM is tubeless
Hello. I would like to know where you sell these spoked wheels and if you can send them to Brazil thank you

Are you liking the wind deflector? Does the bracket bother your view or anything?
It works and doesn't bother me.
Looks Superb now. Thanks for the video. What's the spoke wheel size now ? Is it same as stock 19" front and 17" rear ?
Yes it is :-)
Top!!!! Showwwwww
Do the Rally raid wheels come with any sort of certificate so they can be driven legally ob the road?
no need for that....these wheels are much stronger than OEM...
Are the spoke wheels original Honda accessories or external? Looks really good, especially the gold goes well with the red of the machine. :)
They are external, bought from Rally Raid Products in UK :-)
@@tubelesschannel Thanks for answer. ;)
@@tubelesschannel Hi, great video! I have a question. Can you instal Level 2 Tubed Wheel Kit, without installing the Level 2 Suspension?
@@kriistojarzembini61 yes you can...with the 2019 models and up... :-)
@@tubelesschannel Great! Thank you!
Hi Sven , what size were the wheels you took of and what size did you put on ? 17's or 19's ? Thank you
Front wheel is 19 and rear 17....same size for both wheel sets
Hey Sven, do you think this could be accomplished using only a center stand?
I wouldn't try that.
To be more precise: It is possible , but you should secure center stand so it not collapsing when pushing rear wheel forward, and you will have to secure front from falling down when removing front wheel. Put something between engine and floor for example and a rope to secure centre stand in position.
