I did the exact same thing to mine...20mm rear 15mm front...thing is I've never actually seen what it looks like until I watched your vid...looks awesome man...weird how you do mods to your car cosmetically but never really appreciate how much difference and how better those mods look because you can't see them as you drive the car haha...spacers make a huge difference to over all look the the FN2. Again another quality vid 👍👍
Glad we put your mind at rest. Also take comfort in the fact that there have been ZERO issues with them since they've been on and I've done done a fair few miles on them 👌
Appreciated!! This has improved the look of the car by far. Also, if there's anything I've learnt in my novice levels of working on cars is that copper grease is VITAL 😂😂😂
One of the most satisfying mods u can do to an fn2 is a frsu. Fast road set up. Grip and stability is amazing. And it's not expensive. Just match spacers on both Axel's if u still want to use them. My car with frsu looks great without spacers due to the camber.
@@jcscarculture5267 grinspeed did my frsu and most of the work so far. Paul west did my ecutek. I have the eibach progressive springs which are a huge improvement over the stock. Fun fact Lee - wind deflectors are one of the first mods I bought for my car but the ones I bought did not fit my car properly. They were Heko ones too, myself and Calum had to trim parts off to fit it in. It then came off on the motorway so I was done with it after that hahaha
@@jcscarculture5267 lol nightmare. I've got heko's on mine. When I fitted them they kept sending the window down because of the safety mechanism but a bit of adjustment and they have been fine ever since. How's the mini been since the engine overhaul?
Hi Lee, Calum here! Mini engine seems so far so good, but still does do the very occasional small puff here and there. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, but I do worry if the turbo is approaching the end of it's life at 86,000 miles! That being said, at the Dyno Day it was running full power quite happily so time will tell! It's certainly driving great and I've got some fun plans for it too :) Keep an eye out for those!
Thanks man!! I once had wind deflectors but they were pain the neck to get in and to top it off, they came off when travelling down the motorway, so I've given up now on them now lol.
Would these work on a 5 door version? 20mm on the back and 15mm on the front like yours? Only with original non type r wheels and no suspension changes
Video request: Can you guys do a side by side exhaust sound video of the Mini and Fn2. Drive by sounds would be amazing too. I’ve got a JCW atm and considering switching to an fn2. Cheers geezers
We've actually done some teaser vids with exhaust shots from both cars, I'd recommend watching them both. I (Joey) have had my silencer taken out for it to sound as it sounds wheres as Calum's mini is basically stock (apart from a sports cat). Nice video mate :) , i have a question about the spacers: Does the wheel sit flush against the spacer? iv seen conflicting things around about having to trim the standard studs to fit the wheel flush against the spacer... Also in case it helps anyone i found when replacing my gear knob that releasing the nut under the standard knob before trying to take it off made the job much easier :) Keep It up!
Thanks for the comment man! To answer your question - yes, the wheel does sit flush against the spacer. The Tegiwa spacers are great in the sense that there is nothing you need to do with the original studs apart from bold on the spacer to them and the studs that come with the spacer itself replace what the wheel sits on if that makes sense?? I haven't had any issues with the wheel sitting on the hub with the spacers on one bit. Make sure your patten is 5x114 if you're purchasing them for an FN2 👍🏾
Not one bit! The cars lowered by about 20mm at the back at 15mm at the front and its been perfectly fine. Going over speed bumps has actually been easier with the wider track if anything!!
From what I felt, it feels like the mugen one feels heavier. It is bigger than the normal one too which is a good, good thing. I feel like the throw in the fn2 is short enough as it is tbh. Have you got a short shifter in yours? How big of a difference did it make?
@@jcscarculture5267 I am currently fitting the short shifter and it does definitely make it a lot shorter. I still have cutting to do and I only have the 1.8 so not sure if it's all different down there from the type r. My shift isn't going in as smooth as it was before, I'm sort of having to force it in somewhat but I think that's cause I didn't cut the area enough for it to be smooth. Like you can usually do a 1 finger gear change right? as it usually just goes into gear by itself but now I'm having to make sure it goes in, doesn't happen all the time but does happen. Maybe it's just cause I haven't cut it enough. I'll let you know once I've finally finished sanding the area down and if it feels smooth as normal then I definitely recommend doing so. My brother has a 2.2 so I can compare once I've finished mine.
@@jcscarculture5267 short shifter is great. I got the skunk2 knob which fixed the issue with it being hard to go into gear. Now nice and smooth as usual.
Nice - is yours red by any chance? It might petrude out of the arches but I can't say for sure to be well and truly honest. Try it though! Or ask on some groups to see if anyone else has the same setup so you can see what it looks like 👍
It drives perfectly fine and even tram lines a lot less than it did before spacers actually! However, I do plan on getting my geometry (camber, toe angle etc) setup in the near future so the handling and cornering are as perfect as possible for road use. That will be another video 😏👍🏾

Appreciate the feedback again dude, it goes a long way!!! 😎
Loving these vids on the FN2, helpful for ideas of what to do with mine 🙌 hope to see some new vids soon
Appreciated - we have quite a few things planned for the channel so watch this space!!
Definitely improves the stance!😊
Well described Joe, I like that you researched and then said why you chose the ones you did. Harribos seem to help!!
Thanks!! And yes harribos do. Calum can confirm that 😂
