not far from this technology, this is actually called Wire-Based Directed Energy Deposition (WDED) and uses a laser to melt the metal (most likely aluminum or titanium)
MIG welding tubes on a turntable isn't exactly 3-D printing and is pretty limited in capability. Curious to know how the shielding gas and lack of gravity will work in space too.
I think the idea of 3D printed space parts is good. I just don’t trust companies with space-travel, whenever companies get involved with anything that can kill people, things usually don’t end well.

I know you can get shopping delivered, that's by van, but by air, it would be fantastic, there not polluting the air, but the only downer is that you can't order your full shopping list, they just aren't big enough, yet! So maybe an automatic self-driving van of some sort will take your A to your B and you pay via Internet.
13:00 you know you can talk about your china stuff without dragging the US into it, right? and please do a better research about a piece of tech before reporting on it, to avoid the exaggerations and misinformation.
