Great video thanks for all of the information about the bike
No problem 👍
I bought it on Amazon last week, and it is really cool. Thanks
Glad you like it!
Its fast or not
just purchased mine few days ago during the labor day sales on Ebay, 20% off coupon worked and final price at 799 before tax (13ah version). It will be delivered today, very excited. I also purchased a set of 1000w motor (front wheel) + 20ah battery, I'm going to add on to make it dual wheel drive.
Very nice!
Does this improve speed give me and update on your bike please!!! I bought one yesterday
@@wtfuploads2434 yes, I casually cruise at 34 mph now, as I mentioned, I added a 48v 20ah battery for the 1000w front wheel I added. The more important part is when climbing a big slope, dual wheel drive makes it super easy.
There is a variant of the Q20 with dual motors and dual battery, frame is a little bit different. Why didn't you go with that?
@@mihai5940 over priced, i upgraded my with 2 extra 20ah battery and a front 1000w wheel with separated controller (so i have the control of single or dual motor mode) for only another $700. So basically i got a Moped type ebike with 53 ah battery, dual motor for total $1500.
Awesome job.. just ordered one ...may need help adjusting max out put and klm... to mls.. on digital control.. Great job ...😊👍
See this video for assembly and settings.

Great review Rich. That thing moves! I’m debating right now between the amyet g60 and this ridstar q20. The only thing I actually like more about the amyet is it looks a little beefier. Seeing that you have put in miles on both, which would you recommend?
Ridstar q20
Hey Brich, whats the peak of the yolin 1000w motor with your 48v system and what could be mine with 52v? The seller couldnt answer for me properly
I would estimate the 1000w motor peaks at 1350W with 48V batteries and with 52V batteries 1500W. I know the 52V peaks at 1500W as when I ride my 1500W Akez ebike with my friends 52V Yolin performance is the same
@@BRichSolution awesome, thank you!
Is the ignition key different from the battery lock key? Just got bike but switch won't move with key. Can't turn on, got two 009 better lock keys
Battery key is different then ignition key. the battery key is attached to cables on handlebars see assembly video. ruclips.net/video/__ruUMYdXSU/видео.html
Would you recommend this bike over the Happyrun G50? I’d mostly be using it for commuting with a couple small hills on paved road.
No comparison the Ridstar Q20 is much better bike. the Happyrun G50 is not very good
@@BRichSolution How about compared to the new Happyrun G60? Thats a much better design! Always hated the goofy look of the G50 😅
I have watched all your videos on this bike and appreciate the detailed info. Do you know what the torque of the motor is?
I don’t have the torque specs. Its stronger torque motor then most 750W hub motors
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I received the bike a few days ago. I assembled it today, and I tried to take it on a test ride. Everytime I try to make a turn, the handle bars and stem would turn but the wheel would stay straight?? It's not turning in unison.. I made sure to tighten the stem and the handle bars, why is this happening? This is the first time I assembled a bike, i might go to a bike shop if I can't figure it out..
Bike shop will get ya fixed in a few minutes
I just got done putting a few more miles on my Q20. I drove around until the voltage dropped to 49v, started at 52v. So the motor was plenty warmed up. But again, it just will not go over 26MPH (unless I go down hill). Pedal assist all the way to max. Speed limit max, and current max, tire pressure firm. When I take my Engwe EP-2 Pro on the same route/roads on the same day and use the same GPS speed app it will also go to 26MPH. But that is only a 750 watt motor and 13Ah battery. So far the manufacture is just gas lighting me. I either have a defective bike or I'm being lied to about the specs. Either way I'm frustrated.
Fully charged the battery should not be 52V it should be 55-56V not under load
@@BRichSolution I might have remembered the starting voltage wrong. I'm going to fully charge the battery again and check. But I started the trip with the battery fully charged over night and ran it down to 49v.
@@BRichSolution My battery will start out at 54.6v, so I know the battery charger is working correctly. But as soon as it's under load it drops to 49v. It will not maintain anything above 49v under even a moderate load. And after a couple miles it just goes slower as the voltage drops even lower. I believe if the battery wouldn't sag so low it could hit it's advertised speed.
Change the wheel dimensions to 29.0 instead of 23.0 and u will hit 42mph that me later it's in the po settings
@@theJavairthat just changes the speedometer calibration, but doesn't actually make the bike go faster.
Should I get this one or the Jansno x50? I'm trying to figure out which one is the better bang for buck.
Jansco only has 12.6Ah battery with 750w motor will only get you 20 mile range and mechanical brakes not good. Ridstar is better buy with 20Ah battery 1000w motor and hydraulic brakes amzn.to/3CVsF27
I have the jansno x 50. She is awesome
def looking to pick one of these up is the handle bar a 7/8th ?
Yes 7/8 or 22mm handlebars
how to turn off the feature where your motor stops when break is touched?
disconnect the cable from controller under the seat
Does it have different pas modes? And if so whats the limit they have on 1
Not exactly sure as I do not have a Q20 pro but from the reddit post on the pro model said top speed is the same as I tested the standard model so I would assume the PAS levels are the same 1-5
I will be receiving my ridstar today. Can you please make a video with top speed with the camera facing forward instead of at the bike and yourself? I think people will really grasp the speed if they could see forward. I really appreciate your video. It is one of the sell points that made me buy this bike.
Congrats on the bike it’s great buy. See video at 2:01 and 3:58 for forward facing views. When i made videos of just forward facing viewers wanted to see how i was sitting and pedaling
Does yours reach 30MPH?
@jeffescortlx
Yes, its does 30-31 mph see the speed test video the verified with GPS goPro telemetry data is in the upper left corner of video and confirmed with other app. Speedometer on bike said 29 mph when I was really doing 30-1”31
@@BRichSolution I know yours does. I was asking @acdahood77666 he said he got his 3 weeks ago. Sorry for the confusion.
Did you happen to notice how much voltage sag you're getting? I'm losing 4 volts, that might be why im running out of power at 26mph.
4 sounds about right for voltage sag. Fully charged with 56V sags to 52V full power. Like all ebikes motor has to warm up to get to 28 mph and then 28-31 long straightaways
@@BRichSolution My voltage sits at 49 v at full throttle with a fully charged battery.
@jeffescortlx what is the voltage fully charged when bike is stationary. Should be 55-56V
@@BRichSolution according to the charger and bike display it's fully charged. The voltage it is showing while not moving is 54.2 volts.
Cool bike. Certainly fast enough to hurt yourself on.
For sure
That’s a good sign or its too slow. Wear helmets
Can you limit the 1000W ebikes to 25kph or 15mph?
Yes change settings to limit thr speed and power output
does this bike have any cable limiter that you can maybe cut to go faster?
also is there anyway that you can change the controller or motor to make it way faster
No, 31 mph is fast as it will go. Pretty respectable for bike that cost $979. Super73 that cost $5000 only goes 32 mph
Is there a speed limiter to cut or unplug for more speed
I don’t think so.. based in physics I don’t think you can get much faster with 48v battery and this motor. $5000 super 73 maxes out at 32 mph
is the 15ah version the same besides the battery?
I heard from comments that the smaller battery may not have hydraulic brakes and smaller screen
What size is the screw to this electric motorcycle?
Screw? Can you clarify?
Would you recommend this or the amyet??
If you can get the Ridstar Q20 with the 20Ah battery for under $990 then go for it don’t buy the 15ah version. If not get the Amyet amzn.to/3uqITiP
Does anyone know how much BRich weighs in this test video of the Q20? he loo's like he weighs about 175 LBS ? (but than again they say the camera adds 10 lbs if that's even true?)
good estimate: yes 175 lbs (79 kg)
Great value on specs, but I'de still appreciate the brand having a dedicated website, which I can't find, do they have one?
@@flolou8496 Yah no kidding, at least a website would be nice.
I adjusted the speed limit to 100 and the Ah from 15 to 20, but I am topping out at about 28. Is there a setting that I am missing to get me to 30-31mph?
You have to let the motor warm up and like in the speed test video it gets to 28-29 mph but then takes a long straightaway to get to 30-31. Also the display might read 29 but your actual doing 31 when you check with GPS app
Looks like me and you are in the same boat. Mine runs out of power at 28MPH (that's what the display say) but when I check it with a GPS speed app it's really only going 26 MPH. The only difference I can find from my bike to B Rich is the motor. His bike was shipped with a different motor part number TAIQI GT-48V750W and mine came with motor part number XH-48V20"2023070710115. When I reached out to the manufacture their answer was "the advertised speed is without a rider". Also B Rich bike came with adjustable front fork and mine did not. It seems the fist run of bikes were better and they made changes in the recent run.
@@jeffescortlx Guys FYI theres 3 different versions of the Q20 being sold on AMZ as its popular! The original (B Rich) has a 1000 W/Peak 1500 watts, 20 ah battery and Hydraulic brakes $900+. 👉 The Q20 LITE version is cheaper $749-$800+, only 13-15 ah battery, NO Hydraulic braks, No adj. Forks, only 750 watt/Peak 1000 watt, so thats gotta be why its not getting 30mph and why its less $$$. Devils in the details 😈👍 Jeff I think you the Q20 LITE version.
@@Wize817Yes I saw the three different versions before ordering. Mine has the 20aH battery and hydraulic brakes. I paid just a hair over $1k after tax & shipping. I found out after doing some digging and it just seems to be the luck of the draw on what motor you get. In a different comment section people listed the motor part numbers, no two were the same. RidStar sent me a new speed controller and motor (again with a part number that doesn't match anybody else's) And now mine can finally do 30 mph.
@@jeffescortlx Yah so SHADY of many ebike makers to start swapping in cheaper parts for the same ad price often as SOON as the bike gets popular!? They they try to claim its a supply issue lol. Its false advertising and they never update the graphics or tell buyers unless they notice, because they're not based in the US and can get away with it 😆 Nice to see Ridstar came thru with the new motor and controller for you, thats rare! Curious any idea on the new motors watt output on the label or what they gave you? How about the controller Amps as that Ive never seen them install w/o a spec label? *BTW Area 13 ch. just got a Dynometer to actually TEST the speed and torque/NM of ebike motors, so someone can finally keep them honest! 😂
How is this bike at crushing slower speed like 10-15mph ?
10-15 mph the torque is best i have for 1000w ebikes
Can you make a video on how fast it goes in km/h cuz i live in europe and i am planning to buy one also can you change the speed like on the v8 en v20 like example it goes 50 km/h can i change it to 25 km/h
The Ridstar Q20 with 20Ah battery and 1000w motor will go 50km/h (31mph) which is faster than the Ouxi v8 and Tampbyke are limited to 45km/h
@@BRichSolutionthnx and can you change the speed example from 50kmh to 25 and then back to 50 kmh cuz it is illegal to go 50 kmh in europe so i wanna make sure if the police arrives that i can change the speed limit to 25 kmh
@@BRichSolutionalso how long does it take to charge
Wow, that's cool. Is that a 2000w model?
No the 1000w version. According to comments and reddit post the 2000w version is not any faster as controller probably chokes performance
reddit.com/r/ebikes/s/Ls3ltYHRzW
Does any have this in CA. Have you had a problem with the cops? Bike looks perfect bit it's not 750w.
Good question
It might actually be a 750 watt bike, since the part number on some of the motors sent out is TAIQI GT-48V750W. Mine has the same performance as my other 750 watt bikes. The "1000 watt" rating might just be the marking department. They just so happened to disable the current metering capability of the display and it has no watt meter function so to prove what it really is someone would have to install a current/watt meter.
How much do you weigh? So I know if I would be reaching these speeds.
180 lbs
I weigh almost 245 lb and I can only get to 26 miles an hour on my Ridstar.
@@dueymiller5795Mate your slow and fat jk lol
Have same one, I like it. But would like it to go little faster, any future videos on hacking it?
I think we could get this bike to 32-33 mph top speed with a higher output controller. Stock controller only outputs 20A. Need a 22A or 25A controller but then range would be reduced 😢
@@BRichSolutionwhere would i buy this at? The 25amp
Just order one and waiting for it update when is come

Has this bike been hacked for higher speeds or is it stock?
I changed the settings to make it go as fast as it can. ruclips.net/video/pnaEkvOyHwE/видео.htmlsi=jggpHh_5DAx8JvcM
For a bike under $1000 a top speed of 31 mph is respectable since most ebikes in this price range struggle to do 28 mph and $5000 super 73 only do 32 mph.
Hi Which one do you think is more reliable, the Mac Fox X1 or the Ridstar Q20. I’m leaning torwards the X1, since it’s seems easier to upgrade and get parts, has an official website.
Mac Fox x1 is just a website and bike and bike is sourced from china like the Ridstar q20. All the parts on the Q20 are commonly sourced. The mac fox x1 only has 10.6 Ah battery and small 500 watt motor. I bet the bike struggles to get to 25 mph. I would go with Q20 amzn.to/44AcTFz
@@BRichSolution I have the Mac Fox x1. Sometimes it does 25mph and sometimes 23mph. If I am lucky I can do 26mph. I have controlled for wind and warming the motor but still don't understand why there is a difference. I paid $900 with shipping so I am happy but this summer I am looking to upgrade
How much is Q20 i live in Ireland

class 3, but you can check settings to make it class 2
@@BRichSolution do I do that by putting a limit to how much the max speed is like in the unboxing video for this e-bike or is that a different settin?
At least it goes as fast it they say
Your right not many go the speed the manufacturer claims
This company has bad customer service! Thats one of its major drawbacks! This should be part of your review! There is no one to call. Its all done via email and its a slow process trying to get any problems resolved!
All the ebikes have bad customer service. Lectric and Sondors and even super 73 all take 5-10 days to respond to you
@@BRichSolution If bad customer service is the standard then this bike lives up to its good report as a fun bike. I just wanted potential customers to know about the Customer Service. Its sad many accept Bad Customer Service for Ebikes as normal since its a Big Market.
You can make it go 100km/h in the settings
Yes, i have mine set to 100km/h max in settings and bikes max speed is 50km/h. Ebikes with 48V batteries max speed is typically 50-55km/h max due to physics
