I made a video about using BlackBerry Classic (Q20) in 2024, It is my first Blackberry device as back in those days I'm a Windows phone fans. I would say just go for the Q20 instead of the Q10 because of the bigger screen (but it's IPS instead of AMOLED) and better keyboard (more function keys like optical trackpad). If Blackberry update the Q10 or Q20 with modern specs, I will buy it in a heartbeat. Straight to the point, great review!

I bought a busted BlackBerry Passport off of eBay for $39 and replaced the screen, keyboard, battery and LCD. None of those items were usable and looked like they went to some war. Even a couple keys were missing. I reused the main board, speakers and mics. As a result it looks brand spanking new. All the parts only cost me $45 so the phone cost me around $85. I had one brand new years ago but I was POOR and had to sell it to fix my car at the time, lol. Glad to have it back. I use it every now and then. I truly miss BB10. People always gawk at it whenever I take it out and about. I even recently got Google Maps working on it.
If i could still use whatsapp on my Passport it would probably be in my pocket over my Xperia 1V. I just prefer having a physical keyboard. Glass is just not as reassuring and im constantly making mistakes.
I had a Q10 in the past and loved it. I then had 2 Blackberry Privs and I loved them too though keyboard was not as "ergonomic" and the Battery kept failing after a year or two. Now I have the Key2 (1.5years) and I love it. Possibly the best keyboard yet, battery life is good, no issues yet with anything and all apps bar 2 work. It is on Android 8.1, so some apps are starting to not to update but I am not prepared to ditch my phone just for that. I could not live without a physical keyboard on my phone. I can type so much faster than with other keyboards and it causes so little strain on the eyes compared with having to look at 3 things (some of which flash) when you are typing on another non keyboard phone. We need someone to start making Blackberries again soon!!
@LauraMalvoyante I just got Blackberry Q10, but when I Insert sim, it shows sim company name but I'm unable to call or use internet with it. do you know any solution sim works fine on my android device.

does anyone know if i can stream spotify still?
There is a Spotify APK that you can install. It worked last time I tested it but I don't have the link anymore. Check CrackBerry forums for the most up to date apps that still work.
I used to have a Blackberry Key 2 and honestly I wish I still had it. Let my sister use it and she destroyed it 😢.
Oh no. I never used the key 2 but I had a Priv and I gave it to my husband who lost it on a business trip 🫤
Hi! I want to get now, but wondering if WhatsApp is able to be installed ?
No Whatsapp doesn't work on this phone
I bought all BB10 phones in 2024, Q10,Q20,and a passport with android.
Hey where did you buy a passport with android??
@@mannyjpcin China
@@mannyjpcmaybe he means the Android runtime it has. I think there was one prototype running Android years ago.
Try to install the f-droid application📲
Thanks for the tip!
How to buy this phone?
I bought mine on eBay
@LauraMalvoyante what is the process for it, actually I'm from Nepal.
Mine works with 128gb. Best phone ever. But I find Q5 has better typing experience. Q10 has better screen and build quality.
Can you actually use it for calls?
Yes it works for calls and texts
Hi Laura, if I may, can we use WhatsApp on this in 2024? If so, how? Thanks in advance.
No we can't use WhatsApp on this device.
Is Spotify supported in 2024?
You can add a Spotify APK. It's a bit slow but it works
I still have it, my sister uses it for email.
How does she use it for email? I was not able to get anything in the hub working.
If i could still use whatsapp on my Passport it would probably be in my pocket over my Xperia 1V. I just prefer having a physical keyboard. Glass is just not as reassuring and im constantly making mistakes.
Me too. I make so many mistakes typing on glass.
@@LauraMalvoyante I've been trying to get used to it since the mytouch 3g back in 2009 and I never got used to it so it's not going to start now, lol.
Hi Laura - you have great videos and thank you for this info! What emails can be used? I tried Gmail and it didn’t work. Thank you
I can access my Gmail via the default browser app. The Hub doesn't work anymore and I can't find a way to connect any of my emails directly.
@@LauraMalvoyante thank you Laura! Appreciate you
the keyboard was the best.
💯
I always wanted blackberry as a teen but i never got one because of my age now im an adult and have job im ordering every model lol
I am doing the same with every phone I ever wanted 😅
@LauraMalvoyante I just got Blackberry Q10, but when I Insert sim, it shows sim company name but I'm unable to call or use internet with it.
do you know any solution sim works fine on my android device.
Something is wrong. That phone should be able to read that card. I'll try my 400GB card in my Passport and q20 tonight. Although I'm honestly not sure if mine are too new and the card will work just fine.
That's what I thought. I tried a few different sizes and brands but I couldn't get it to work.
you know what? you can not install apps a in a iOS device from 2013
This is true. I have an iPod touch that I cant add or update any apps for. It can just play music. A real shame
The Q10 is a very nice phone but the blackberry passport SE is in my opinion the most beautiful phone ever made
It is a gorgeous phone. I've never had a Passport but it's on my list to get someday.
Good vid!
Thanks!
Is whatsapp still work?
No it does not 🫤
❤❤❤❤❤
I love that phone
@Laura: please don't forget me to tell abaout making phone over VoLTE in france! i don't beleave it......
Just tested and indeed the calls are on 3g (H) when I call. We still have 2g, 3g networks up and running. The data works on 4G.
Is there any way to download WhatsApp?
No not anymore
@@LauraMalvoyanteWith apk?
@@ArturoIM nope the APK no longer works
i have the white one!
I love the white one!
You should watch the video of projectberry 2.0
And should modify your phone and publish the video.
I'm using the Blackberry 9700 in 2024
Yes I love hearing people still using their BlackBerrys
@@LauraMalvoyante Only thing I can't use whatsapp. But it might be a blessing as well...
The Problem with my Q20 is that's its a sealed battery...i prefer Q10
Yes I agree. A huge disadvantage having a sealed battery.
peace be upon you from me
ahm........ you are in france and use 4G without problems ????? With a BB 10 device: Phone Calls over 4G (VoLTE) ????
Afaik, that is not possible! Long time ago, it was - in the US
Today, normally, BB devices switch from 4G to 3G - when you make aphone call - Upside on the display = 3G !
You'll have Internet over LTE - but NOT VoLTE (Phone Calls) !
If you CAN have VoLTE in france: please tell ma and correct me 🙂
Usando bb10 a día de hoy
Whatsapp working and not working
Not working 😞
Too bad. If I could get whattsapp on OS 10 that's all I would need along with browser, text and calls
I’m using my blackberry passport as my dummy phone
@@azixroshali9879 that's a great phone. It's on my list of BlackBerry's to get.
make qwerty phone great again
I would wear this on a tshirt 😄
