That shit is super hard to pull off, which is why none of these major rappers ever actually freestyle in their radio station appearances. You’d know if you actually tried it yourself, but Scru gave us a textbook lesson on freestyling here.

Man, you reacting to JID's new album is what spurred me to start listening to full albums when I listen to artist's music. I loved every second of the album, and before that I had only heard a couple of JID's most popular tracks or features on other tracks. Now I've listened to every album he's made, as well as most of Kendrick Lamar, Joey Badass, and Denzel Curry's discography, and I have others downloaded that Im getting to soon. I'm never going back, as an aspiring rapper/musician myself, absorbing the full experience and information of an album has been so useful to learning how to better my pen game, and helps me realize so much more about how you should structure music to create the right vibes to resonate with people.
Good stuff man, there is definitely a lotttt to be learnt from actually listening to music that's meant to be a full experience. I would recommend listening to some recent Tyler and some Steve Lacy aswell

Everyone seems to miss how he slightly changes lyrics in his songs. When he started NEVER he said, "Never been a bitch, Now I got a Rollie on the wrist." Whereas, in the original song, he said, "Never been a bitch, never had a Rollie on the wrist." Just a slight change, but it changes the narrative and it really makes the song feel like it's breathing; like it's living. As he evolves and changes, so does the meaning behind his music. He is able to make his music timeless with ease, and that's one of the most prominent reasons why he's the future of hip hop in my humble opinion. Most self-aware person in hip hop right now.
