    Thank you for showing us the techniques for low profile tires installation. I do like DIY even if I struggle sometimes and get some minor injuries 😂. Very helpful. I was installing 20-inch tires about a month ago on my wife's ML350. They weren't that hard, but I got a new set of low profile ps4s going next on my cls63s, and your tips will be very useful.
    And your new rims look absolutely beautiful 😍 color is gorgeous

      Back in the day, I worked at a auto shop and we had to install these with no helper arms. Haha, there would be 3 of us putting our full weight on it to try and install low profiles. Shocked no one lost fingers

      @Exotic Car DIY oh yeah, I hear you. When I was changing tires on 20-inch Vossens with 25 profiles tires on an older tire machine, maaan, we struggled so much. 😅

    Those wheels look so much better. Almost like the Vossens I have. Tire repair has always been a big worry for me knowing that my wheels might be scratched. Very fortunate you can do your own tire and wheels mount. 👍

    we have 3 china machines in our shop nothing they can't handle. was looking at replacing them with these had the old ones for over 5 years getting time to let'em go, what i like bout these is the air lock on the downshaft that is a gamechanger was flaw of old design with the cam lever constantly adjusting for tightness. downside i see of this machine from specs i see is outside clamping only up to 20's need to at least clamp outside on 22's many china specs get the inside outside numbers backwards, other than that a fine machine. lube makes everything better!

      Just did a set of 33s for a friend this weekend. Still very happy with this set up
      Another thing with the balancer. I would notice that it would call for (example) 1oz inside 1/2oz outside, then after those weights were applied, it would call for a 1/4oz on the opposite.
      So instead of just playing ring around the roses with the weights, I would use masking tape and just adjust them slightly and almost always I would get it balanced without having to add any more weights. And then I permanently attach the weights after the tweaking

      Everyone entitle to their opinion, doesn't bother me.
      However, the factory cast wheels are weak. Cheap aftermarket are also weak.
      Quality forged wheels are VERY strong... Such as bcforged, hre or signature(such as these) etc

    Use the bar to keep the tire down by the duck head as the assist arm spins around. You won’t damage the wheel since the bar will be under the lip

    Nice toys bro!. Interested in getting this tire machine. What is the overall height of the unit to the very top of the pneumatic cylinders? Their website does not give dimensions of the unit.

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  6 месяцев назад +1

      The total height is roughly about 77 in.

    What are the details for your wheel fitment? What widths and offsets are you using?

  • @snowplowman77
    @snowplowman77 Год назад +1

    Do you have a link for the yellow bead breaker? Your initial video pointed out the flaws of the stock black one.
    Also, are the rim clamps original too? You were questioning if the rim clamps would hold up over time. Still plastic or did you upgrade?

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Год назад

      I think I have links to the yellow beat breaker thing in video 2? I'll try to find a link and post here.
      Yes the plastic covers on the rim clamps have broken, they're still usable just cracked.
      Obviously they have no effect if you're clamping on the inside of the room using the cleats, but I pretty much always use the external rim. Usually what happens is the tire grabs it and so when I pull the tire off the machine they're stuck inside the bead enough to pull them out

    Can I ask why you purchased a tire machine? You dislike the tires shops doing your wheels/tires or you just do that much tire work? I'm thinking about one, just trying to justify it.. Thanks..

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  3 месяца назад

      I think I have like four videos on this tire machine, I know I explained it in one of them. But basically yeah, paying tire shops 150+ bucks to wait 3 hours just to have them scratch my rims was getting old.
      It's been a great investment, besides my lift it's my favorite tool.

  • @roundel171

    Would you be able to do 11"x19" with 305/30/19 tires on this machine?

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Год назад +2

      Yes... Barely.
      The widest I did was my 430 11.5" with 305/30/20... The tire was touching the arm... I lubed the arm and got it to work .. not ideal...
      Now that's with cleaning the outside of the rim like I did in this video, teeth and clamp the inside of the rim, that will bite you another inch.
      Another guy said he installed a 2-in spacer where the entire assembly mounts to the body to get two more inches out of it. Kind of interesting idea

    I'm dying over here. I have Verde Axis V99 wheels and EVERYONE that does tires on them at multiple different shops damage them and they blame it on "the spoke design being so unique". I have had them refinished 4 different times. Makes me sick to my stomach.
