The second new Yacht of shipyard Lürssen within the last week.
It seems to be the newest biggest Yacht of the World -
Project Name OMAR - DILBAR new name.
approx. 156m length, shorter than Yacht Azzam with 180m, but OMAR has the most usable AREA on board. Two decks should be below the water line. Depth 6,20m. Now it is placed into the floating dock.
It should have 18.000 registered tonnages !!
More details are not known today, but keep in touch with my channel to get more information if available!

Mit den Yachten ist es wie bei den Containerriesen - es geht anscheinend immer noch ein bisschen größer. Absolut beeindruckend dieser Neubau. Sehr tolle Aufnahmen sind das geworden, Daumen hoch dafür!

Die Yacht ist zwar nicht die grösste Yacht der Welt, sieht aber auf jeden fall besser aus als die AZZAM, super das du zur rechten Zeit am richtigen Ort warst, Daumen hoch !!!

Hope the owner has got a big home port birth lined up for her, as there are sod all marinas in the med she'll be able to dock in. Having said that see the difference in size between this one and Quantun Blue who herself isn't exactly small.
So Omar is 150m. Azzam is 180m. Omar looks like it probably weighs a bit more. I'm not sure which one cost more, but that's probably not what was meant by 'biggest'. They were built by the same people...
+Kneedragon1962 Omar will have much more usable area like Azzam. Depth should 6,20m with two complete decks under water. I think we will known some more details if they will be delivered next spring. Cheers DrDuu
AZZAM at 180 meters is still the largest, also built by Lursen in 2014.
Yes the longest Yacht today, but they should be the biggest Yacht related to the usable Area. I think next spring we will get more Details if they'll be finished.

+Sam Avery Yes indeed. Al Said i a Yacht which looks like Project Omar. But it seems if I look at the available photos, that Omar is much bigger than Al Said.
These super yachts are not yachts; they are private cruise ships.

Exact length is not know until now, yes private Cruise Ship is a good notation. Maybe the float out is in autumn.

azzam 180 m and eclipse 164m this is not the biggest at 156m it is however the heaviest by a good bit 3000 gross tons I think which is why azzam is faster that and more horsepower

Azzam is the LONGEST yacht, as DrDuu pointed out. The largest private yacht in the world right now in terms of Gross Tonnage (which I think is a better definition of "largest") is yacht "Al Said". It's on the order of 17,000 gross tons, several thousand tons more than Azzam.
Die Preise wären auch Interessant da wird man mehrere 6er im Lotto brauchen oder man müßte auf sein Grundstück eine Dicke Goldader haben. Wenn ich soviel Geld hätte würde ich mich mit einer kleineren Ausführung zufrieden geben mir wäre es da wichtiger das mich das Schiff sicher durch jeden Sturm bringt und dann würd ich es auch selber fahren wollen glaub da gabs ja dann auch Begrenzungen von der Größe her.
+Canderus84 Da stimme ich Dir zu. "Mal eben" Kapitänspatent machen und selber fahren ist viel cooler. Das Schiff hat schon die Grösse eines kleineren Kreuzfahrtschiffes wie der Astor zum Beispiel. Vielleicht hat der Scheich so viele Gefolgsleute...Gruss DrDuu
ich glaub 30 oder 40 Meter waren die Grenze was man selber Steuern kann mit den Führerscheinen also Binnen, See etc. das liese sich gut Händeln man hat dann genug Größe für mehr Reichweite wie z.b. einen Turn von Rostock oder Hamburg nach Halifax Canada zu machen und mehr als ausreichend Komfort hat man auch. Maschinisten, Smutje und 2 Matrosen würd ich da auf lange Törns mitnehmen die kann man ja anheuern. So ein Koto wie der Abramowitch müßte man Haben auch wenn man dann bei einer Deutschen Werft die Qual der Wahl hätte
I'd bet it is arab owned due to the lack of outdoor sunning areas. Arab owned yachts have a distinction in that they are mostly enclosed air conditioned palaces. They are not the type to lay around outside in their bathing suits. Compare their yachts to a yacht like Eclipse, which has generous open outdoor areas. But, who knows?
Either way, my God that is a gigantic yacht! And there are some reports that Lurssen is in the process of building an even bigger one! How big can these things get?
